  • Excellent Friends Retreat

"I wanted to organize a relaxing nature-surrounded vacation for several of my friends as a way for us to reconnect since after college we had been spread out pretty far from one another - there was a lot riding on this trip for it to be a success since everyone else had basically put their trust in me that the place would be acceptable and everyone was blown away - the house is gorgeous, the rooms are very lovely, the view of the lake can't be beat. The little touches like the bird feeders were quite nice, and we all enjoyed reading and relaxing in the sun room and on the porch. The kitchen had no problems as well, and fortunately there was a handheld mixer because I forgot to bring my own - overall a very well stocked kitchen. We did a lot of cooking! Several of my friends even said they would be willing to do the trip again to come here. I know I would certainly be up for that! The weather happened to be perfect too despite the daily warnings of thunderstorms it was sunny most of the days. Cannot recommend more highly."

  • Exactly what we were looking for!

"We had six of us stay in this cabin during the July 4 holiday week. We had such a fantastic time in the cabin and in the surrounding towns. The cabin is so cozy and beautiful and I was thankful we allowed one day with nothing planned because my husband and I just sat on the front porch for two hours talking and enjoying the excellent temperatures and view. I did fill the hummingbird feeder two of the five days we were here. I could have just sat and watched the dozens of hummingbirds all day long. The only wildlife we saw from the cabin was a couple of foxes, but it was still perfect. My 20 + year old sons and their fiance's and my teenage daughter played many games of cornhole every night while I cooked supper. I have stayed in many cabins but this was the first time I did not have to pack extra utensils and pots and pans before we left. When it says the kitchen is fully equipped, that is exactly what it means. I lacked for nothing while I was cooking and I cooked four course meals each night.(I also now have my eye on a Weber gas grill. Very nice!) Our stay was just exceptional. My husband and I thought the king bed was the most comfortable bed of anywhere we have ever stayed. Don't forget to turn the hot water heater off vacation mode or you will have a cold shower the first night you are there. Don't ask me how I know. :) At first we were surprised there was no AC, but once we opened the windows (LOVE the window blinds. I want some!) and turned on the ceiling fan, we realized it wasn't needed. That is unheard of here in Kansas! We went white water rafting in Frisco (1 1/2 hour drive but well worth it!) on the Blue River with a company called Performance Tours. They were excellent and I highly recommend them, as well. We rented jeeps in Estes Park for a day and actually enjoyed the drive through the Rocky Mountain National Forest more than the jeep trail riding on Storm Mountain. We rented a pontoon boat on Lake Granby from Beacon Landing Marina and they were excellent, also. We all had a fabulous time and we are planning on returning soon and trying out the winter weather in Colorado. I will close with saying Lori was excellent to work with and was very quick to respond to my emails and phone calls. We could not have had a better experience."

  • Charming Cabin with beautiful views!

"My husband, daughter and dog stayed the weekend and had the best family time. The cabin itself is great for families with smaller or older kids. The owners are a wonderful couple who really care about their cabins. There kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans and everything you need. We made breakfast each morning and dinner one evening and loved it. There is a fire pit to enjoy a campfire setting so remember to bring the makings of s'mores! We even met another great family who stayed at the cabin next to us. We wanted to get away from the city and relax and Nature Valley Ranch was the perfect place. We hope to go back and bring our friends next time. The cabin is close enough to enjoy Grand Lake, the restaurants and shops. We were able to go on several great hikes as well."

  • Magical lakeside retreat

"Highly recommend this cabin. Square footage is maximized to accommodate multiple families and group dining experience. Just steps down to a lovely sandbar on the little lake. We caught lots of fish (6 to 8 pm is the prime time). Very conveniently located to Grand Lake town and hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. Lots of fresh towels. We cooked almost every meal for 4 days and kitchen had everything we would need. Not fancy...or new but clean and well-maintained. Everything was as we had hoped."
