  • Relaxing Stay in a Beautiful Location

"This is a cozy cabin in a beautiful spot. We enjoyed being surrounded by pine trees and listening to the wind in the trees while relaxing on the front porch or in the hot tub. The dog run was a nice feature and made it easy bringing our pup along. There's a nice walk down to a pretty lake nearby. We enjoyed lighting a fire in the stove on a rainy evening. Everything was very clean and well maintained. There were lots of kitchen supplies which made it easy to prepare all of our meals there. I'd highly recommend staying if you're looking for a quiet get-away!"

  • Perfect vacation home for our family!!

"The pictures don't do justice for this house. This house was amazing! My sister & her husband & family (2 small boys & a teenage boy) had the basement to themselves (including their own bathroom). She did say the main bedroom's bed in the basement was quite uncomfortable but they had more than enough room for the 5 of them. My other sister & her husband took the main floor bedroom and they had their own bathroom. My husband & I had the loft bedroom with it's own bathroom. It couldn't have worked out more perfect (and my bed was very comfortable). There were many games that the boys enjoyed playing with. The wrap around deck was wonderful. We hung out there in the mornings & evenings. Deer came to visit in the evenings. The boys named the buck that we saw a few times "Georgie". We brought our own travel gas grill (there is only a small charcoal grill at the home) and grilled hamburgers & hot dogs. The house had most things that we needed. I couldn't find a baking dish to bake fresh peach cobbler and a dish for watermelon so I purchased these at the Walmart in Woodland Park (20 minute drive). Also, the dryer took 2 or 3 cycles to get clothes dry. But other than that the house had everything we needed. We found the house was close to a lot of activities but was also very private. There are neighbors but you would never know it. We did things that were nearby & some things that were a little farther away; drove up Pike's Peak (1/2 hour to entrance), visited 7 Falls (45 minutes away), gambled in Cripple Creek (45 minutes away), had a picnic & fished along 11 mile canyon road (10 minutes away), & white water rafted near Salida (1 1/2 hours away). We loved this property and we are already thinking about renting it again next year. I would also recommend this house to friends and family. The one thing I would want renters to know is it is not easy to find a place to dump your trash. Most dumpsters that we found were padlocked. My husband & brother-in-law got yelled at when they found one that wasn't locked & had to dig their trash out. There are dumpsters on 11 mile canyon road but it does cost $6 to enter. My husband & I traveled quite a distance with our last trash bags before we found a place to toss it. It would be nice if the owners could let the renters know specific places to dump their trash to avoid unhappy business owners & embarrassed renters."

  • Beaver Lodge, Florissant CO

"What a comfortable place to hang out and enjoy the Rocky Mountains. The cabin is stocked with everything you need for rest and relaxation. You can prepare your own meals or travel 6-10 miles to local restaurants. There are plenty of special places to visit in the vicinity if you like making day trips and spending the evenings at the cabin."

  • Great Experience!

"My wife and I came up for a week of hiking and running in the Pikes Peak region. We have stayed at many places, but we both agree that we enjoyed this stay at the Carriage House better than any and it is now one of our favorite places. We hope to come again. Mr. and Ms. Buckley made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. It was extremely peaceful and the view from the balcony of Pikes Peak, the Catamount area, and the Buckley ranch were second to none. I spent a great deal of my early mornings and late evenings on the balcony. We highly recommend this wonderful place, especially to couples who want to get away for a while. SS"
