  • Quiet and Cozy

"What a wonderfully place to snuggle down and relax. Lots of things to do or do nothing. Charming places to eat. Friendly Folk everywhere. Don't miss the well versed ladies at the Information Office "they really tell you where to go". Sitting on the screened porch, you can feel the calmness surround you and the view is unbelievable. The house is charming. Clean, comfortable beds and has everything you need except food and a cook! I know that I will return"

  • July Summer Vacation

"The Monarch lodge is located in a great place to relax and have some peace. We saw deer several times during our week stay. You can hear the river from the deck. The Lodge has 3 floors, 3 beds, 3 bathrooms. Kitchen had all the things we needed to cook. Several blow up mattresses. Plenty of room. If you take small toddlers take a baby gate for the main stairs. The stairs going down has a door which was great for us. I wished it had more cleared space in the back yard for kids to play. Not cut trees or anything just maybe an area that was cleared of the brush so you don't have to worry as much about them stepping on a critter. We saw kayaks the first day coming down the river. They stopped and played in the falls down the river. There are two falls. One right at the property and one just a short walk down river. It is bigger. The creek that runs beside the house was nice and cold. We saw crawfish and tiny trout. We attempted to fish the Etowah all week in hopes of catching some trout but were unsuccessful. We stopped at a local hunting/ fishing shop and he told us that it was probably to hot in July for them in the Etowah. He recommended canned Niblet corn to fish with. He was also nice and told us of another place not to far from the Lodge to try, but we never got to go. Attractions: Amaicolala Falls-Nice place to visit. Short drive from cabin too. Consolidated gold mine-Kids liked finding the gems. Local Restaurants The Smith House: Okay food. Corn & Broccoli Casserole was not good. Steak and Shake-It was new and clean. Spoons and Shine-Yogurt shop was great. We had a great time. Great place to stay and visit."

  • Great Getaway!

"We wanted a long weekend away and this was all we hoped it would be....quiet, cozy and relaxing. Cabin is nicely decorated and has most anything you could need or want. Wifi worked great for us but there was no phone service which was just fine. We brought our two pups and all four of us enjoyed our stay. Thank you, Anita, for opening your cozy little cottage to us."
