  • Beautiful Peaceful Property

"My girlfriends and I rented the home for a girls getaway weekend. The home is so comfortable, clean and has everything you need. We used the fire pit, hot tub, screen porch and deck the entire weekend. The river was too cold but if it had been warmer, we would have enjoyed it too. We all can't wait to go back!!"

  • July Summer Vacation

"The Monarch lodge is located in a great place to relax and have some peace. We saw deer several times during our week stay. You can hear the river from the deck. The Lodge has 3 floors, 3 beds, 3 bathrooms. Kitchen had all the things we needed to cook. Several blow up mattresses. Plenty of room. If you take small toddlers take a baby gate for the main stairs. The stairs going down has a door which was great for us. I wished it had more cleared space in the back yard for kids to play. Not cut trees or anything just maybe an area that was cleared of the brush so you don't have to worry as much about them stepping on a critter. We saw kayaks the first day coming down the river. They stopped and played in the falls down the river. There are two falls. One right at the property and one just a short walk down river. It is bigger. The creek that runs beside the house was nice and cold. We saw crawfish and tiny trout. We attempted to fish the Etowah all week in hopes of catching some trout but were unsuccessful. We stopped at a local hunting/ fishing shop and he told us that it was probably to hot in July for them in the Etowah. He recommended canned Niblet corn to fish with. He was also nice and told us of another place not to far from the Lodge to try, but we never got to go. Attractions: Amaicolala Falls-Nice place to visit. Short drive from cabin too. Consolidated gold mine-Kids liked finding the gems. Local Restaurants The Smith House: Okay food. Corn & Broccoli Casserole was not good. Steak and Shake-It was new and clean. Spoons and Shine-Yogurt shop was great. We had a great time. Great place to stay and visit."

  • Highly recommend this amazing location, home and owners!

"Just returned from an 8 night stay and hated to leave. Traveled with husband, two teens (15&17) and three small dogs. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the location and the kids rediscovered playing Monopoly at night! House was fully stocked with everything you'd have at home including all cooking needs (even a crock pot, hand mixer and electric griddle), lots of towels, washer and dryer, tubes for the river, wi-fi, dish tv, comfy beds, fire pit on the river with four adirondack chairs, a charcoal grill and a huge lawn. no carpets so no worries with the dogs. House was very clean and well cared for. The house is right between Cleveland and Dahlonega, so as close as you can be to everything in the mountains (close is relative term in the mountains!) Carol and David were so sweet and wonderful to work with. no need for 4x4 in the summer. looking forward to a future visit!"

  • Breathtaking villa!

"This villa is absolutely gorgeous! It was close to downtown Dahlonega and other local wineries. The view from the back patio is breathtaking!"
