  • Adequate for a quick weekend stay

"Rented for a quick weekend 2 night stay- two families- 9 people. We felt it was adequate for our needs. Cabin was in pretty good shape -some things updated, some things showing its age. Beautiful views the best part. Lacking in some larger utensils, sheets for fold out couches, towels(only two bath towels), trash bags, hairdryer, etc. Very minimal provisions. Just come prepared with what you need. The place we were supposed to take our trash was closed(Sunday). This needs to be better thought out. Loved being able to bring our dogs and they loved it too."

  • Well worth it!

"As other reviewers have stated this property is a great place to come and relax in the mountains and unwind. It is a nice private area and the views and property are top notch. The cabin has a nice layout with ample spaces and is well equipped/stocked. The owner is very nice and down to earth. Good people. Great place to come and see the local offerings such as Blackrock Mountain State park, Tallulah Gorge and the shops and restaurants on Main St. in Clayton. Also there is an Ingles grocery store close by when you come down from the mountain with everything you could need to bring some stuff back to the cabin and have a nice meal at "home". I recommend and would gladly return to this property in the future!"

  • A Special Family Cabin

"Three friends and I had the pleasure of staying in this cute, cozy mountain house for two nights last week. Two nights were not enough to do all of the canoeing, hiking and fishing we wanted to do! The cabin is well furnished and comfortable. We each had a bedroom with one friend sleeping on the screened porch. The large screened porch was wonderful with a large table that seats ten. The cabin has an interesting collection of family photos and mementos from a lifetime of enjoying summers at Lake Rabun. Don't miss hiking to Minnehaha Falls. Spectacular! A drink at the Lake Rabun Hotel would have been fun had it been open. I would recommend this cabin to anyone seeking a relaxing getaway! Thanks to Michael and Mary Jean for sharing their home!"

  • Wonderful mountain stay with excellent location to downtown without being in downtown!

"We went for our daughter's birthday to the Big Bear Lodge and took our whole family. It was a very memorable and run weekend! The mountain cabin experience is definitely worth it and you are within walking distance of downtown but still far enough away to be out of the crowds. Even through the water is low right now, tubing was still very fun for the kids and we ate at Paul's on the River afterwards. Shopping is great in downtown Helen with lots of sweets! The Lodge has a little park by the water that is a great hang out to relax. The owners are fabulous, hard-working people who go out of their way to accommodate your stay and make it a great trip!"
