"While some people feel that being higher up in the towers offers a better views, in my opinion, HK 525 had the perfect view !. In fact, it was Chris' picture of the beautiful lanai that first caught my attention. It was high enough for a sweeping view of the gorgeous grounds and ocean front but not so high I felt I was in a skyscraper.
The beds were big and so comfortable and the tvs in each bedroom along with the huge amount of space gave our family of 6 plenty of room to be a little bit apart when we needed to be. Being in the courtyard got a little noisy early in the morning with the "echo effect" but after 10 pm, the resort did abide by the quiet rules. The pools were wonderful, big and beautiful ! In early June, we never had a problem finding a lounge chair at any time of the day.
Duke's offered pool service which was great.
It was lovely to turn off the a/c at night and open the windows and lanai to hear the ocean, but you might want to close them before dawn unless that is your preferred time to wake up also.
It did get windy at Honua Kai but that just made it feel more like the South Pacific. The beach right in front was swimable but rocky at the shore but just a very short walk north, the swimming and snorkeling was great.
The grills by the pool were very easy to access and used by many guests. We were on the lanai everyday. Chris really keeps this home in top shape, I can't say enough good things about our stay.
Don't forget to stop downstairs and book your FREE family photo (8x10) EARLY. They ran out of time slots before we were able to have ours done before we left.
This area, the northern Ka'anapali area was much quieter than the bustling southern Ka'anapili area and I am so happy we chose to stay at Honua Kai and Chris' place has to be the best unit in the complex. Mahalo again Chris for hosting us, we really felt pampered !"
