  • A simple cottage in shade of pines, firs and oaks.

"We have enjoyed our stay at this property. The beautiful wooded, private yard is quiet, cool and relaxing. Our two grandchildren, 4 and 6 years old, liked to watch the wild turkeys, play hide and seek, and build "animal traps" and "hiding places" out of dry branches. We slept on the enclosed porch, falling asleep to the rustle of the trees and waking up to the sounds of birds. We've been vacationing at Cape Cod for the past 5 years, every year staying at a different place. The local beaches didn't impress us. We found the beach on John's lake (Back Road, Mashpee) more suitable for small children. The beach wasn't crowded, had clean water, sand, was surrounded by trees, had a new playground, a covered picnic area and rest rooms ($15 for non residents). The children improved their swimming skills!"

  • Very Nice Property

"We loved this property for a family gathering. It is just as nice as it looks in the pictures. Very spacious with excellent views from everywhere in the house. Location is superb with lots of sightseeing places to go to close by and within 20 to 30 minutes. Barnstable and Hyannis Port, plus many small towns along the way. Would highly recommend this property. The management team is very helpful and accommodating."

  • Lovely place, much thought given to renters' stay/needs

"I just returned from a week at this lovely house. As the photos show, it and its location and view are spectacular. It was amazingly peaceful and beautiful - the wind in the pines, the view of the marsh as the tide changed, the flocks of swallows at dusk ...My old dog and I walked down the path behind the house or the road to the lovely bay beach at least once a day (and drove elsewhere to explore other lovely places nearby). The path itself was lovely and at the beach, there were tidal pools and sandbars and serious clammers, and the water was warm enough to walk barefoot in. I knew from the photos (and having seen the house in person last spring) that the house was gorgeous but did not then know of the care, attention and anticipation of guests' needs that the owners give. The house was fully stocked with anything you might need, including several thoughtful additions like a small stereo, tons of beach toys/chairs, appliances and utensils and kitchenware (all high end/quality), spices (including my favorite Saigon Cinnamon for adding to coffee), a bucket for washing your sandy feet before entering the house, a book on local/similar houses in the area and their amazing architects, etc. It was chilly weather, as expected during a mostly cloudy late September week, but small space heaters were provided and were helpful. The rental price was an incredible value; the house, like a home (an extra nice one); and one of the owners was immediately responsive anytime I had a question (beginning last May when I first saw the house listing. I did not need/use the lower level but it was much nicer than I expected (for any lower level and given some other comments about the humidity), and I would certainly stay down there if I had guests (like children or older folks) for whom it would be better to stay on the main level. I'd return to this house in a heartbeat and very much hope I can and do."
