  • Cute little place

"This was our family's first HomeAway experience. We stayed here with our family of 5. It is definitely an older cottage but has lots of great amenities. Our older 2 girls stayed in the room with the trundle bed. They loved it. They have lots of kitchen gadgets which is nice. Lots of closet space and dressers. Low on the dish soap and trash bags but we made it work. We went in November. The leaves weren't picked up and were pretty thick which made it slippery with the millions trips we had to make back and forth to the car (lots of kids=lots of stuff). We weren't able to enjoy the backyard/deck because of it either but it was also raining much of the weekend. There is no bathtub so just beware of that if you have little ones. We made due, though. It would have been nice to have the fireplace working because it was chilly but it was not a deal breaker. Everything was clean and I'm sure it would be even more wonderful to rent in the warmer months with lots of space for everyone."

  • Beachfront location was perfect!

"This beachfront cottage was perfect for our family. We stayed here for a week in August. The beach is very active with lots of families and young children, which was perfect for us. We happened to stay during "Macatawa Days" which is a fun family-oriented weekend with tons of planned activities (a race, sandcastle-building contest, kayak race, beach volleyball, etc). We loved sitting on the front porch watching sunset, going down to the beach to explore the waves, walking along the beach to the lighthouse and pier, etc. The home has a very cottage-y feel. It's older with no special amenities, and recent upgrades, but it was clean, well maintained, and a location that you literally cannot beat. When there is a nice breeze off the lake, the house can remain cool even on the hot August days. When the wind is still, the house can get pretty hot, so we recommend bringing your own fans. Overall, our family had a great time! Highly recommended!"

  • Fabulous Getaway

"We had a wonderful time at this cottage with friends. It is a beautiful home. Bigget and nicer than we expected. Great communication with owners, they were great to work with. Would love to stay again sometime!"

  • Exactly what we wanted!

"This was our first time renting a beach cottage, and it was everything we'd hoped for. The cottage is really charming, authentic and comfortable. You get the sense a lot of memories have been made here. The photos represent it well. The photos can't do justice to the location and views though. Wow. Stunning. From any spot -- the deck, the dune, the beach -- it's picture perfect. We made a nightly event of curling up with blankets and popcorn on the deck and watching the sun set. Better than a movie. Also, the owners are very gracious and readily available (though nothing came up). And I appreciate that we could bring our dog, as I noticed most cottages aren't pet friendly. Highly recommend!"
