  • Wonderful Cottage

"Such a wonderful, cozy and quiet cottage - close to the state park and all things Holland. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay close to the water. Thanks for everything!"

  • Great for our two young families!

"We drive the easy 2.5 hours from Chicago and stayed at Phoenix in the Dunes with another family over the Columbus Day weekend. 4 adults and 6 kids under 6. The house was great. There was plenty of room for everyone and enough beds to spare. We like to cook and the kitchen had everything we needed and more...stand mixer, coffee maker, espresso machine (lattes!), massive stock pot, skillets of all sizes, multiple sets of dinner dishes, and on and on. The two story living room with fireplace was really comfortable. Everything about this house is just perfect. We went apple picking at nearby Crane's apple orchard, then avoided that lunch crowd and had a lovely lunch at Saugatuck Brewing Company (conveniently located about halfway between Cranes and Phoenix in the Dunes). Another afternoon, we drove about 8 minutes to the Saugatuck State Park and hiked through the woods to the lake. We also made several short walks from the house to the lake where the kids played on the beach. I definitely recommend this house. For us, the only drawback...and this is being very that the house is up high with dropoffs all around, which means there's no yard for the kids to go out and play in. Obviously, there is plenty of other awesome outdoor fun to be had though. Also, Elizabeth was really great to work with leading up to our stay and provided all the information we needed to feel comfortable in the house. She was very responsive to all my questions and easy to deal with as far as payment, keys, etc. If you're thinking about staying here, DO IT!"

  • Great Location

"Three of us enjoyed the close location to the water. We walked and watched people fish on the banks and in boats. The farmer's market in Holland was the best! Picking apples was a treat! Windmill Restaurant in Holland serves a wonderful breakfast! The Country Store is closed for the winter."

  • Tidy, convenient and well stocked!

"We stayed at this home in Holland for a few years in a row and it will always be our first consideration when we stay in Holland in the summer. The owner is very communicative and accommodating and the home is very clean and well kept and stocked with everything short of groceries! For the price, the location is fantastic - a little over a mile from Tunnel Beach, a little under a mile to Holland's main beach (you can easily walk or bike to either) and an easy drive to everywhere else, Grand Haven included. Definitely a diamond in the rough."
