  • Cozy and Comfortable Cottage!!

"We really enjoyed staying at the Sea Turtle this vacation! We had more than enough space for our family of 4 and really appreciated being able to bring our dog along as well. It was clean and the decor made you feel right at home as soon as you stepped through the door. We loved all of the antique furniture, the decorative 'beach' touches throughout, and the piano which we had fun playing every day. It was stocked with everything we needed for our week. The area was great. We spent many days on the beach in Gulfport and Long Beach. We drove to the beach every day, though it would not have been a bad walk at all. It was hot and we had a lot of stuff to take and with plenty of parking it didn't make sense to lug it all when we could just drive and park where we wanted. The best beach was Ship Island. The ferry ride was fun, the beach was beautiful, and the water was clearer than the other beaches we were on. We searched for shells and it was fun to watch the blue crabs scurry away as you walked up to them as we had never seen anything like that before. Would recommend just renting the umbrellas and chairs they have there as it's a little walk to the beach from the pier where you're let off. Tony's Brick Oven Pizzeria was excellent downtown and we appreciated the gift certificate Beth left for us when we got there. That was very thoughtful and was a nice treat after a long drive to get there! We also ate at Steve's Marina Restaurant one night (really good and sat outside on the balcony) and Shaggy's (sat on the balcony-fun, but we weren't as crazy about the food here..) We visited the Gulfport outlet mall one day and Beauvoir (Jefferson Davis' home) and the Katrina Memorial; both in Biloxi. New Orleans was a little over an hour away so that made for a fun and enjoyable day trip. I have always wanted to go there and it did not disappoint; food, music, shopping, and people. All in all, this trip was fantastic and there were so many different things to do and see. And lastly, if you go, get up early and do not miss the sunrises' at Gulfport Harbor. They are beautiful and what a way to start the day........ No regrets! We would stay here again if we ever get back to the area. Thanks for creating such a relaxing and comfy space, Beth!"

  • Very nice house in a great neighborhood

"Mr. Poe Thank you for sharing your home. We had a wonderful time. The grandchildren loved the pool regardless of the heat and mosquitos. Your son was very helpful in letting us know about the casinos and the best places to eat where located and also Loved your neighbors little brown miniature Doberman. Only managed to leave one thing behind, my grandsons hat, that he said feel behind the bunk beds. Also left some floats for future guest to enjoy. Once again Thank you. The Brock's from Ashland City, TN"

  • Spring Break 2016

"We spent 3 nights at this Pass Christian beachfront condo in March 2016. Although we did not spend a lot of time inside, the condo was clean and adequately stocked with necessary items. The location was ideal....minutes away from the quaint town of Bay St. Louis (where we recommend Buoy's Bar for burgers!) and a short drive from most of the Gulf Coast of MS. The condo is one of the few actual beachfront rentals along this stretch of the Gulf....allowing for easy access to the almost deserted beach. Tejas was easy to deal with and extremely prompt in all communication."

  • A place to stay for meaningful experiences

"The family of my friend rented this property to stay at during her graduation. After the ceremony, they hosted a party to celebrate her achievement. While I was not staying here, I attended the party. When driving off the highway and down a winding road to this house, you do not expect much. If you've ever spent much time in Mississippi, you'll know that roads are not well-lit at night. Driving in the dark with trees all around us added to the mystery. My family, joining me for the party, were wondering where exactly this road was taking them. I assured them that it is perfectly normal in Mississippi to wonder where you're going. When we finally reached the property, we found a house on a good size plot of land. It was away from the road a bit and down a hill. My friends greeted us and went inside. The house is clean and spacious. Even with all the people there, it was easy to walk through and get around. The furniture is comfortable and the design is nice. There is a firepit in the backyard where many of us, including small children, were able to sit around and roast marshmallows. It was a relaxing experience, looking at the stars and simply enjoying the nature surrounding us. Many times the home can be a distraction at these events. Whether that be broken appliances, or dirty countertops, or a door that can barely open. Not in this case. Everything I interacted with operated perfectly and did not distract me from the moment. While I certainly noticed that the property was nice, the important thing is that it never took me out of the special moment we were having. Spending quality time with family and loved ones to celebrate a graduation should be shared without distraction. Never did the location take away from the moment we were sharing. If anything, it only added to it. The quality of the home as well as the beauty both within and surrounding it let me enjoy the time and experience a meaningful event with people I love and cherish. When looking for a place to stay, whether that be for a celebration or an event, the location should never detract from that. This home added to the experience. It served as a meeting place for a meaningful moment. For that, I thoroughly recommend this property to be rented by anyone that wants to experience meaning, value, and joy when visiting Oxford."
