  • Nice cottage feel to it

"The owners were a pleasure to deal with. The cottage was very much a cottage. It was a nice get away for the weekend. And a great location!"

  • Fun Family Water Getaway

"Beautiful property! This private house is tucked away on the west side of the lake with beautiful lake views. Cozy bedrooms, well appointed kitchen, open areas for entertaining in the dining/living area and on the well maintained deck. Although there is a hill down to the waterfront, the short walk is greeted by a boat house complete with kitchenette, grill, sitting area, dock, and boat lift. This area is great for boating, fishing, swimming, and entertaining. Neighbors are far enough away for privacy, but are warm and welcoming. Having both deck and boat house allows for a perfect place for entertainment where guests can chose to enjoy the lakefront or the views of the lake from the top of the hill. Owners of the home are very pleasant, open to any communication, and easy to work with. Recommended for any family looking for a fun water getaway."

  • A dream house on the lake

"My family had a 4th of July reunion. Staying at the house there were 9 of us from 6 months to 77 years old. All of the beds and bedding were comfortable and in good condition as were the bathrooms. The caretaker was always available by phone whenever we had a question of any kind. We never felt cramped or crowded. The kitchen was large enough for comfortable family meals many of which we cooked in the kitchen or on the grill. Having two TVs was a nice extra. The indoor pool was perfect for the small children, ages 6 months, 4 and 6 as the lake was a bit challenging for them. But the heated pool was warm and welcoming. We spent a lot of time on the deck in the hot tub and on the dock, watching those of us who were paddle boarding or kayaking, which we rented locally. We also used the canoe provided. Some of the group went for hikes. We took advantage of the improving number of restaurants in Canandaigua, Simply Crepes is nice as is Nolan's. The patio restaurant at the Inn on the Lake was a great place for a large party. On the 4th, my entire family came to celebrate. We had plenty of room to entertain all my sisters and their children. Again people could be inside, outside on the deck, in the pool, in the lake, so many ways to relax. Before we traveled to NY I asked the owner if there were any restrictions, he said "Just treat it like your own home." We tried to do so and to be sure it felt just like that ---only better because we were on Canandaigua Lake."
