  • Very nice cottage for a small family or group

"Wonderful cottage. We enjoyed the large open family and dining room. Loved the Elk head on the fireplace. There is a large deck off the family room and a picnic table outside the kitchen door. Nice size beach with a fire pit and we loved taking out the paddle boat and canoe. Everything was spic and span clean when we arrived. It was nice to have all the linens and towels already there. The only drawback is that there are quite a few steps down to the cottage landing and then more steps down to the beach. We would definitely recommend the Cottage in the Woods!"

  • Beautiful Home

"Our family rented this home over the New Years holidays and we had an amazing time! The home was very clean, stocked with everything that you need to cook and had amazing views of the lake. Everything was very cozy - the rooms, the living rooms and the kitchen. It's a bit of a drive to the town of Canandaigua and it was easier for us to grab supplies and eat in Naples. It's located close to Bristol Mountain which was the purpose of our trip. There's a breakfast place 5 min away with excellent food, and everything we tried in Naples was delicious. We also did some hiking around the property using a cute map provided by the home owners. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely stay again."

  • Peaceful and Enjoyable

"Great Home enjoyed by my entire family. We had a family a 5, w/ 3 children ages 6 to 13, plus 4 others staying on regular basis. The house was cozy and comfortable, but spacious enough to never feel on top of one another. We had additional family members come over during the day to spend time on the lake. Kitchen was very well stocked; (really everything you need was there, other than food). Back deck had plenty of space and seating, and the umbrellas came in handy on the hot days. Screened sunroom was also a big hit. The lake was awesome, clear, and refreshing. Boathouse had everything one could ask for. Dock was large, also with good seating options. Kids and Adults alike had fun on the kayaks. We personally liked this side of the lake since it did not get the west sun, which made afternoons on the dock quite appealing. The fire pit was also great! ... I personally enjoyed all the steps up and down; (great exercise), but it may not be for everyone. The house was very private, peaceful, and serene. Watching the sun and moon rise from the upper landing was amazing! Also liked the little details; things as simple as landscaping and flower beds/pots that made the place that much more picturesque. One suggested improvement ... A couple beds were extremely firm. Allowing guests the option to put a pillow top on or something, might provide a way to accommodate different preferences. Overall though, an amazing house, and I recommend to anyone looking for a quieter stay on the lake."
