  • Beautiful place with great outdoor space. Wonderful for a family gathering.

"We had a great time and the property is great for family get togethers. Kids had a blast exploring the great outdoors in a way that reminds me of when we were young. Catching lightning bugs.. Playing tag, looking for roads and frogs. Really an awesome place"

  • Practically perfect...

"The week before our daughter's wedding (300 miles away from home) was poised to be a challenge, but our stay here made it all enjoyable. Plenty of comfortable space, close to the church and our daughter (less than 2 miles to each), and well outfitted with basic needs for a stay. We baked the cake and cupcakes for the wedding there, let my Mom (the master baker) stay on the main floor, and had plenty of room to spread out. Though the wedding hotel block was apparently nice, the house made a great staging area and meeting place for visiting friends and family. Parking was plentiful, the neighborhood was quiet, and the patio and grill would have been great (with a little less rainy May weather). When we did have questions or issues, Angelo was quick to respond. In real estate, it's location, location, location, and this was a great one with easy access to everything we needed. Couldn't have asked for more. All in all, a great experience. We'd use this property again under the right circumstances (several nights of gathering friends) to have a home away from home and will recommend to friends and family. Thanks for a great stay, Angelo."

  • Lovely home, great location, wonderful owner/host

"I highly recommend this lovely clean well maintained home as a vacation rental. I told all my friends and family about this lovely 2 story home with a back porch to sit and enjoy the pond that is on the property. The area was quiet, the neighbors very friendly. Perfect location quick easy drive from RDU, drive to Raleigh easy, even did day trip to Wilmington. Whole Foods, Traders Joe’s only 10 minutes away. I used yelp to find restaurants in the area, plenty to choose from, but there is detailed information in the guest book maintained by the owner. Speaking of the owner, she was very kind, informative, provided great details and customer service, after my booking and during my stay. When I’m in the area again I plan on staying here again."

  • Has everything you need

"Emmet Smith cottage was the perfect place to stay. It is peaceful and private, but Heather makes herself available if the need arises. Three things were standouts- we could bring our dog(a real bonus), it had a fully functioning kitchen (ate in 2 nights) & has a full size washer & dryer. Also, some breakfast food is provided to get you started ( thought I'd only see this at a hotel), as well as laundry supplies & paper products. This was our first VRBO experience so it was nice we didn't have to think about all the little things & tote or buy them. Also, Heather provides a very detailed list of attractions & restaurants which we referred to often. The bathroom is small, but worked out fine for the 2 of us. If we get back to the area, hope to stay here again. I highly recommend it!"
