  • Plenty of room & nice yard

"We were welcomed with cookies & a bottle of wine which was a very nice touch! The house was roomy & the fenced in yard was perfect for bringing the dog. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Raleigh house. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner , Don Martin, who was always quick to reply to an email & answer questions. I was disappointed that we couldn't take advantage of sitting on the deck since the outdoor furniture wasn't in the best condition. However we did use the bbq which was brand new! The house is a bit dated & could use a thorough cleaning, but I would definitely recommend staying here & would return if we found ourselves visiting Raleigh again. Advice for those with children- tv is extremely limited & cable constantly goes out. That would be my biggest complaint - which isn't the worst thing in the world! Just irritating!"

  • Has everything you need

"Emmet Smith cottage was the perfect place to stay. It is peaceful and private, but Heather makes herself available if the need arises. Three things were standouts- we could bring our dog(a real bonus), it had a fully functioning kitchen (ate in 2 nights) & has a full size washer & dryer. Also, some breakfast food is provided to get you started ( thought I'd only see this at a hotel), as well as laundry supplies & paper products. This was our first VRBO experience so it was nice we didn't have to think about all the little things & tote or buy them. Also, Heather provides a very detailed list of attractions & restaurants which we referred to often. The bathroom is small, but worked out fine for the 2 of us. If we get back to the area, hope to stay here again. I highly recommend it!"

  • Practically perfect...

"The week before our daughter's wedding (300 miles away from home) was poised to be a challenge, but our stay here made it all enjoyable. Plenty of comfortable space, close to the church and our daughter (less than 2 miles to each), and well outfitted with basic needs for a stay. We baked the cake and cupcakes for the wedding there, let my Mom (the master baker) stay on the main floor, and had plenty of room to spread out. Though the wedding hotel block was apparently nice, the house made a great staging area and meeting place for visiting friends and family. Parking was plentiful, the neighborhood was quiet, and the patio and grill would have been great (with a little less rainy May weather). When we did have questions or issues, Angelo was quick to respond. In real estate, it's location, location, location, and this was a great one with easy access to everything we needed. Couldn't have asked for more. All in all, a great experience. We'd use this property again under the right circumstances (several nights of gathering friends) to have a home away from home and will recommend to friends and family. Thanks for a great stay, Angelo."
