  • Gary and Cookie White

"After a tedious tax season, Gary found Mark's place for our post tax get away. It was such a treasure to find this lovely, what I term, bungalow complete with a pontoon! The pups were a great addition to the welcoming we received each morning and Mark couldn't have been a better host. The views were outstanding, the floats allowed us to enjoy the water as we lazily "vegged out" for several days. This rental has everything you could possibly think of needing; an outdoor grill, tables and chairs for outdoor relaxing, a screened in porch if mosquitoes love you like they do me; water gear for lots of activities, surrounding restaurants and places of interest to visit; and a host to hang out with! The only downside is telling everyone about this neat spot and having Mark book it up before we can get our next dates on the schedule!! We look forward to a fall visit and seeing Mark and the pups again! I would love to do some writing here....who knows? Thank you, Mark. You're the best! See you this fall!"

  • Perfect deck and dock area

"Thank you for the wonderfully relaxing weekend on Lake Norman. This home was neat, clean and nicely furnished. The decks and dock area were perfect for a weekend of fishing. Would definitely rent this house again when visiting this area."

  • Nice place

"Our group was 4 adults, 4 children, and a dog. Overall we had a great time, the owner was extremely nice and willing to help with any questions we had. He accomodated a coupled special requests and we were very grateful. The house was clean and well taken care of, the recent renovations (new carpet) are definitely nice. The location is great, feels like you are far from town but the reality is that anything you need is only 10 minutes away. This is a legit log cabin so be aware that lighting isn't all that great in some places (mainly kitchen) and the ceilings are vaulted/low on the top floor. The main floor bathroom has been updated but the basement and top floor could use some renovation - although they work fine. The yard and fire pit are great - kids had a lot of fun running around since we had surprisingly warm weather for winter. One thing that we found rather strange was that none of the beds were made when we arrived. There were clean sheets on each bed but we had to make them ourselves. We have stayed in many VRBO homes and never had to do this; it was not a pleasant surprise at 11pm (especially the bunk beds). This is actually more of a comment for the cleaning company but since they are hired by the owners I thought I would mention it. Again, overall a great place in a great location."

  • Relaxing and fun

"We wanted a place where we didn't have any worries and could relax. We decided on Sheltered Cove so our daughter and son in law would be able to visit. They were able to drive from Charlotte a couple of days. The house was wonderful it has everything you could possibly need. We spent most of our time when not on the boat resting on the screened in porch overlooking the lake. I was happy the house had a washer and dryer so didn't have laundry to do when I got home. We will spend more vacations here. Our daughter loved it too and are planning to stay at Sheltered Cove in the future with some friends."
