  • Private

"Nice private and large two bedroom apartment. It was great relaxing in the hot tub with the sound of the waves crashing on the beach. They had a great movie selection with a massive couch. Only downside of the barn is that the beds were really uncomfortable (unless you like very, very, squishy matresses) and the light switches were in the oddest places. The first night we ran around for 30 minutes trying to figure out how to turn off the lights."

  • Wonderful house in the woods!

"We ended up having to drive to the cabin in the dark and the last bit is on a very narrow dirt road with trees close in on either side. Suddenly, though, it opens up into a beautiful clearing high on the hill. The cabin (house, really) has everything you could ever need for your stay plus rustic handmade charm. Roomy, clean, comfortable and well-stocked. The moon was shining on the clearing when we arrived; magical. We heard something very wild off in the distance. Tired as we were, we didn't want to go to bed! Simply everything was great about this place. We did get a message before arriving that the water would have to be turned off at 9 a.m., which was somewhat inconvenient. This was nothing the owner could control; I called him when we arrived. He was very kind and understanding, and we were happy with our communication regarding this problem, which turned out to be no big deal. We wish we could have stayed longer and highly recommend the cabin."

  • Family get away

"We loved this home. Spotless clean, light and airy, excellent location. We woke up every morning and sat on the deck enjoying our coffee. We were the closest to the water yet had privacy. Eagles flew by every day and ducks hung out with us in the afternoon. One of the best fishing places happens to be straight off the deck in the middle of the lake. We highly recommend and will look forward to returning. The pictures do not do this home justice. Ample room for all who stay."

  • Just about perfect

"You're not renting a vacation cabin -- you'll feel like you're borrowing a friend's home. Julie is a warm and welcoming host, and the cabin is extremely well-stocked (lifejackets! a canoe! olive oil! ziplocs!). Lake Sutherland is the perfect base for exploring Olympic, and the lake itself is gorgeous for swimming, boating, or just hanging out. We stayed four nights to do some hikes on the northern side of Olympic, and would have easily stayed longer if we had not wanted to shift our base to Kalaloch for a few nights to be closer to Quinault/Hoh. We'll be back for sure!"
