  • Charming house with convenient kitchen and good access to all the best places in Seattle

"We were 8 adults and a 2 year old, visiting Seattle for a much larger family event. Jim's house was comfortable and clean and he was accessible without being overbearing. We locked ourselves out only once. The neighborhood is quiet with adequate on street parking within a few feet for our two cars, as well as cars of others coming and going. The rear deck was quiet and a good place for an evening drink. We also enjoyed the swing on the front porch and comfortable furnishings. This house was perfect for us."

  • Million Dollar View!

"Overview This place is amazing, we loved it. It’s in a very nice part of Capitol Hill with a mix of some stately older homes and newer condos. Be aware it is in a very hilly part of town. This unit is part of a triplex and is the main floor. Angela, the owner, lives and works in the unit behind and there is a penthouse unit above. It has wonderful views of Lake Union and all of the activities going on there. It its beautifully furnished, decorated with original art pieces and has a nicely-appointed kitchen. We found it to be spacious and comfortable for our month-long stay in July. Angela is a very welcoming and accommodating hostess. We would be glad to stay again! Details The Living room is spacious and opens into a large dining room. There are full-wall windows, 360º overlooking the lake. You can see downtown, Queen Anne Hill, and the Space Needle. A small air conditioning unit cools the front when the sun shines in. (It actually hit 90 degrees while we were there, so we were glad for that!) The dining room table is very large and served as my workspace while we were there. The WIFI worked great. The kitchen is large and fully equipped: electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator with ice maker, toaster, microwave oven, coffeepot and every kitchen gadget, pot and pan you could ever need. If you can’t find it, just ask Angela. Sound The I-5 runs in front of the house but was not a problem for us. The front windows serve to deaden much of the noise. I worked every day with the bedroom window and patio door open, and we slept with the bedroom window open with no issues. Until you actually step outside, it’s not very loud and was more of a white noise than anything else. If there are neighbors in the penthouse above, you may hear the occasional footfall but such is life in the city. Little Things The laundry is in the basement with everything you need. There are lots of shelves and cubbies to stash your things, and two extra closets. Housekeepers came during our stay and did a fabulous job. Angela is a caring, attentive host (without being the slightest bit intrusive). Her welcoming, positive demeanor and joyful laugh are what we will remember most about our stay in Seattle. She’s not just a wonderful host – she’s a wonderful person. We should all have such a neighbor! If you don’t enjoy your stay in this beautiful home, then you’re doing something wrong."

  • A week spent in paradise!

"The cottage was exceptionally clean, neat and inviting. The host has a strong desire to make her guests feel welcome and does a terrific job at it. Her knowledge of the area neighborhoods, along with binders with special places to visit, maps and so many great ideas enhanced our walking adventures. Internet connection was fast and reliable. The 36 bus stop is right across the street to take one down town in a matter of minutes."

  • Alki-Sound, the perfect place to stay

"We found Alki-Sound to be absolutely perfect for us. Just a short walking distance to our family's home. For those who love to do some walking, you can walk to Alaska Junction or Admiral and California Ave for all sorts of dining and shopping. The property had everything we needed, and everything was in great condition. Quiet, with great views. I would love to stay there again if the opportunity comes up on their calendar of openings."
