  • Spacious and lovely

"We entered the house and were so overwhelmed by the lovely accomodations .. we all agreed we would be very happy to live here! The flowers and plants surrounding the home we simply beautiful (in August)! We stayed for a week with 3 college students and my parents in their late 70s. This home was very spacious and gave us places to be all together, but also plenty of spaces to spread out into smaller groups if we needed. The furnishings and decor are just lovely and the deck and back yard are a little retreat. My parents stayed in the huge first floor master suite, which included a giant bathroom with a walk-in shower which was very helpful for my mobility challenged mother. If you do have mobility issues, just be warned there are at least 2-3 stairs coming in to the house on every entrance. The rest of us stayed upstairs in 3 separate bedrooms. The kids used the bedroom with the couches and TV for their own lounge area, since the TV room downstairs is fairly small and has limited seating. The renting company tells you all the extra things you need to bring (linens, paper goods, etc.). I always bring along a few choice items from my own kitchen (large frying/saute pan and a couple of good knives), which were helpful. There is limited silverware and dishes (i.e. there were exactly 7 dinner forks in the drawer), so if you have more than 7-8 you might want to supplement. You also have to drive up to Sister Bay to pick up the keys. This home is in the woods, on a small and private street, so there is little to no traffic. It is within walking distance (down a hill) to Fish Creek where there is lots of shopping and dining available. We really appreciated the consistent wifi and the younger folks were able to stream videos/movies. Fish Creek is a terrific location in the Door Peninsula as you can easily reach almost everything."

  • Great House, Great Location!

"This was a great place to stay for our family vacation. There were 5 adults and my 2 1/2 year old daughter. The house is located on the quieter side of the peninsula but still had plenty of restaurants and activities, but also a short drive to the busier areas such as Fish Creek and Sister Bay. The house was very clean and comfortable with great furnishings. We all loved visiting Cana Island Lighthouse which was close by as well as the Hands On Art Studio on a rainy morning. A fun local brewery is also within very close walking distance plus the many wineries in the area! Many things for both adults and children to enjoy!"

  • What a beautiful place.

"We spent a long weekend, celebrating some birthday girls. We enjoyed every moment. The house was spacious and perfect for our group. The roof top deck and sitting area was our favorite place to hang out. The views of the bay are perfect. Oh by the way, the Door County Cherry Ice Cream from the local creamery is a must have."

  • Great host, great cottage, great location!

"Everything was great about this cottage; the view, the breeze, the fireplace, the location. It had everything. Lyle was kind enough to bring us firewood, kindling, and newspaper for our fire. You can walk 200 feet to the main road, turn left or right, and within a three minute walk you can find coffee, food, or drinks. A truely great location. Not to mention a 5, 10, and 15 minute drive gets you to Ellison Bay, Sister Bay, and Ephraim!"
