Welcome to the Bennington Bungalow! This clean, cozy, charming (and very romantic) two bedroom guest house has been restored with love! It is located next to the most majestic and beautiful park of Walla Walla…Pioneer Park. The Park's 58 acres is located 1/2 block from the "Bungalow" and just minutes from downtown. While exploring the Park you will discover a beautiful rose garden, an aviary, and some of the best specimen trees in Walla Walla. The park was designed by the Olmstead Brothers, the same designer as Seattle's Green Lake Park.

Enjoy the historic downtown of Walla Walla. The shops, restaurants, wine tasting and art galleries are within easy walking distance (or a short bus ride along the Pleasant Street route, just down the stairs and to the right from the Bungalow). We provide Maps, brochures and local magazines for your exploration and convenience. We are naturally happy to share “insider information” with you about our favorite wineries, dining establishments, hikes, bike rides and events.

We have decorated the apartment with a fine wine and dining theme to tempt the senses. The colors and textures were inspired by beautiful and nearby Bennington Lake (Be sure to bring your fishing pole!). The house architecture is reminiscent of the mission era of the early 1900's (The house was originally built in 1917). We have complemented the Bungalow with several "Stickly" or "Arts and crafts" furniture pieces from the era. Also on display is artwork from the wine region of Walla Walla and the Northwest.

The kitchen is fully stocked to encourage cooking if you so choose. There is abundant fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients from the valley for your culinary experience. You might want to visit our local farmers market on weekends!

Relax and watch the sunset from the upstairs porch, and sip some wine while listening to the exotic bird calls from the park as dusk approaches...the air cools as you wait for the stars to appear. While the afternoon summers can be hot in Walla Walla… the evenings are cooling and pleasant!

Walla Walla is blessed with wonderful universities and colleges that add diversity to the growing economy of the area. Whitman College is the nearest campus to the "Bungalow," and Walla Walla University and Walla Walla Community College are an easy driving distance. We encourage our guests to visit the local Colleges and explore the diversity these institutions provide to our community.

We hope you will find your stay at Bennington Bungalow relaxing and rejuvenating. Enjoy and relax! Remember, there is always something fun to do in Walla Walla!

this is my second visit to Bennington Bungalow and I will stay here again. The apartment was clean, comfortable with amenities that made it easy to settle in for a long weekend. The owners knowledgeable about restaurants and local amenities and helpful with recommendations. I will continue to recommend the property.

Walla Walla's Best Kept Secret!

Guest: Lisa (Redmond, WA)
Date of Stay: 11/10/10 Review Submitted: 11/14/10

We have stayed at the Bennington Bungalow several times and will again! The apartment is charming. It is beautifully decorated and inviting. It has all of the comforts of home, including a full kitchen! We loved being able to stock the fridge and come and go as we wanted. The owners are gracious and fun with wonderful knowledge of local restaurants and wineries. It is in a very nice neighborhood close to Pioneer Park; a great place to walk the dogs! Another huge benefit... DOG FRIENDLY! We arrived this time to find a Doggie welcome tray with treats, washcloths for wiping dirty paws and plastic bags for clean-up. Thanks Dave & Melissa!

Great for Whitman Parents

Guest: Grace (Seattle, WA 98117)
Date of Stay: 10/16/10 Review Submitted: 10/20/10

We are so happy we found Bennington Bungalow. We travel to Walla walla to visit our daughter who is a sophmore at Whitman College. This trip we decided that it would be nice to have a "home away from home" versus a hotel. It was a special time. We were able to cook dinner with our daughter and she stayed over in the second bedroom one night. It was nice to walk to campus and not deal with parking. The apartment really is "Super Cute" as advertised and is very clean and well maintained. I agree with the review that the owners are helpful but not obtrusive. We highly recommend the Bungalow and will be back for our next visit. Ken and Grace

Charming and Very Affordable

Date of Stay: 08/26/10 Review Submitted: 09/01/10

We spent two nights at the Bennington Bungalow last week and just loved it. It's an adorable litte apartment with its own outside entrance on the second story - the owners live on the first floor. The place was very clean, nicely decorated, and we felt very much at home. The kitchen was our favorite room, many windows making it a very sunny spot to enjoy breakfast. The owners were very accommodating - we have some nice bikes and they offered to lock them in their garage for us but we felt our porch area was secure enough with our bikes locked. It's very conveniently located, just over a 10 minute walk to the Whitman College campus and Pioneer Park which is 1/2 block away is not to be missed. We will definitely come back.

Wonderful Walla Walla apartment

Guest: Susan (Missoula, Montana)
Date of Stay: 07/02/10 Review Submitted: 07/13/10

Charming, clean, wonderfully maintained, and ideally located near a lovely big city park. Two friends and I spent the 4th of July weekend in Walla Walla visiting wineries and enjoying the surroundings, and this apartment was a perfect home base. We loved being able to cook meals during our stay. The hosts were friendly and helpful but not intrusive, and their pet-friendliness made our whole trip so convenient and fun. I would highly recommend to others. It would be great for small families, small groups of friends, or two couples. For eating downtown, don't miss Brasserie Four (a French bistro), and T. Maccarone's was delicious too. Walla Walla Vintners was our favorite winery, and there were many runners-up!
