Eugene farmhouse description

A Peaceful Sanctuary is a beautifully renovated 1928 farmhouse located on an acre of land, nestled in an 84 year old walnut grove. We are a working farm with Alpacas, Cashmere goats and chickens.

We are conveniently located 1 mile off I-5 exit 195A on the Eugene/Springfield border. Just 4 miles from the Uofo A Peaceful Sanctuary is perfect for visiting family, business meetings, vacations, Duck Games, Graduations, romantic getaways and as an extended stay.

Come treat yourself to total comfort by sleeping on 650 thread cotton sateen sheets and top of the line queen sized beds, one pillow top and the other firm. Each bedroom has a 19' flat screen TV with Comcast with Showtime, plus air conditioning. A home office is included for your convenience with a computer and high speed internet as well as wifi. The kitchen is fully equipped as well as a washer and dryer.

Much of the house is decorated by local artists work and antiques. The home with two bedrooms, is minutes from The UofO,The Saturday Market, Autzen Stadium Duck games and The Hult Center. The shuttle bus to Duck games is a block away and is the best way to travel to the game. We are close to a mall, theaters, post office and many restaurants, some walking distance away.

Located in the Willamette Valley, we are only an hour to the coast and the Cascade Mts. We are on the edge of town, with the city on one side and the wilderness on the other. Our farm faces the beautiful Coburg Hills and the crystal clear McKenzie River is a 5 minute walk. Swim and raft the River or take that leisurely stroll and watch the river flow.

Each morning you will receive freshly laid eggs by our hens who are naturally fed and free range as well as organic coffee and tea.

A Peaceful Sanctuary sells naturally fed chickens and eggs. Our hens are fed feed that is organically grown (not certified organic) with no soy or GMO's.Our Cashmere goats are leased out to people for blackberry and brush eradication as well as I collect their Cashmere to be spun.

We have 2 dozen hens, 142 newborn chicks, Opus and Regalo our Alpacas, 10 Cashmere goats, a kitty named Merlin and our rescue puppy Olivia.

The animals on our farm offer wonderful, heart warming experiences for children and adults a like. Children are always welcome to help me with farm chores, taking care of the animals and collecting the eggs.

If you never have had the experience of being with an Alpaca you are in for a treat. They are the lovers not fighters. Opus and Regalo are sweet, friendly and passive creatures that will give kisses for carrots, guaranteed to melt your heart.

Good kitchen and living space, and fun to see the farm animals and eat real eggs. There was even the bonus of the household PC for our use, strong wi-fi and quiet, unique vintage house and a respectful and gracious host.

My mom was having surgery at Riverbend. We were very lucky to find a nice quiet home within walking distance of the hospital. The house was very comfortable and Pam was a great host. It was just a short distance into Eugene and easy access to main roads. This house would also be great for families visiting U of O.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Farmhouse. I was impressed by how clean and organized everything was. The décor is warm and cozy, and there's even a great massage chair! It was fun to meet the Alpacas, as well as all of the chickens. I would stay here again if I was in Eugene.

My husband and I love staying at Peaceful Sanctuary. It is a very comfortable, homey little farmhouse with excellent beds, charming decor, and relaxing atmosphere. It is clean and well-maintained by Pam, the owner and ever-helpful hostess. It is delightful to experience the alpacas, goats, and chickens on this working farm. Our grandson enjoys visiting us here and feeding the animals. The freshly laid eggs are another enjoyable perk at Peaceful Sanctuary. I would highly recommend this VRBO to others.

My grandson and husband and I enjoyed the house which, as the description here says, is neither rural nor urban - just on the edge of a country lane in one direction and the Gateway Mall in the other. The farm area is a big backyard with fenced off chicken coop and a small garage/barn we couldn't quite figure out how to get to (on the other side of the alpaca area, which we were asked not to go in to) so we just waved to the goats there. The two alpacas are sweet and one of them came over to eat carrot pieces from our hands through the fence. We did not really get to do any "farm chores" with Pam or visit other alpaca farms as some of the previous visitors have commented - she was away with a.Chicken Swap in Corvallis on Saturday and came to put away the animals after dark. To be fair, the fact that it rained in deluge proportions affected the "farm" part of our weekend - definitely bring boots for the kids if they want to go to the chicken part of the yard after any rain. That said, the house is sweet and everything inside was perfect. Beds are super comfortable, towels luxurious, etc. Pam's little dogs, Olivia and Regalo, were a big hit with all of us.

Recommended for: Families with young children.

Owner response: Guests are free to roam the property except the Alpaca pasture. My apologies, I thought you understood how to get to the goats through the chicken pasture. The rain really put a damper on farm chores since it was so muddy. Hope your grandson enjoyed collecting eggs.

This rural escape to the good earth and the unconditional love of sweet animals was just what we needed and wished never to leave. The clean comfort of such a well kept home was so luxuriating it too was hard to leave behind. We loved the walls filled with whimsey and creative choices that constantly intrigued us. The antique ice box in the living room brought back long forgotten memories. The use of nature in its purest form, furniture of sticks yet massage pad adding comfort. Every nook & cranny held sweet touches of the owners love of homemaking. The photos and descriptions were very accurate. The animals were clean and friendly and rules were easy and fun to follow. We learned a lot during our stay. We will be back.

About the owner: It is my intention in opening my home for rent to offer comfort, bring happiness to people and make magical memories for children they will carry with them for a lifetime. Life is so challenging for many especially now. It is my way of creating a business that is green, brings peace to people and gives back to the community.

                  Why the Owner Chose Eugene:
The reason I chose to buy my house in this location was because of the beautiful land, views and very quaint, homey house and walking distance to the McKenzie River. It was a happy home with 11 children being raised here and you can tell there was a lot of love. We are a mile off I-5 and 4 miles drive to downtown Eugene. The feel of out in the country but close to everything.

The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
We are 1928 working farm nestled in an old Walnut grove with very old vegetation and flowers. There are hummingbirds that feed daily and live here year round feed. The birds feed off feeders just a few feet from house. We are a 5 minute walk from the beautiful McKenzie River.
