The Crag is a Stunning Jungle Hideaway, built on a coralstone outcrop and set on top of the island amid tropical flora and fauna. This unique house offers total privacy, yet is within easy reach of the shopping, restaurants and beaches of the Platinum Coast. Cooled by breezes night and day. Relax in the hammock and listen to the jungle: treefrogs and cicadas sing in the evenings. The Crag is a world apart from the busy traffic and heat of the west coast. Morning and evening green monkeys visit to feed in the breadfruit and plum trees, easily observed from the treetop balcony and verandah. Despite the searing heat of Barbados you will be totally comfortable in this breezy open plan house, equipped with wooden louvres and ceiling fans.
Centrally located The Crag is an ideal base from which to explore the whole island, it is less than 10 minutes from Holetown and both coasts. All beaches have open public access in Barbados, from the pink sand and tumbling surf of the Crane to the 'exclusive' Sandy Lane, and there are lots of beaches to discover. The Crag was rebuilt in 1997 in traditional Bajan style with an shaded outdoor terrace and dining area among the tropical treetops. Dramatic views both into the colourful garden around and below but also southward and westward to the Caribbean Sea.
Two double suites with ensuite bathrooms on the upper floor open onto the edge-to-edge balcony with views to the sea, while a third twin bedded room on the ground floor has its own bathroom next door. Additional accomodation can be made available in a large room under the verandah. It has twin beds and windows onto the jungle, suitable for teenagers.

This house is perfect for when you need to escape the pressures of daily life by retreating to a tropical jungle paradise. As soon as you walk through the front door, you can feel how this house perfectly blends indoors and outdoors. The kitchen is stunning, and fully stocked with everything you need to prepare delicious meals at home. The patio is the most relaxing room. There is a nice dining room table for alfresco dining, a hammock perfect for an afternoon siesta, and a comfortable sitting area. We watched humming birds flutter in the flowers next to the pool, and we could hear monkeys playing in the trees in the jungle. I enjoyed walking around the yard and admiring the tropical flowers and plants. The doors open wide to let in all the cool breezes of the island, but the lush vegetation surrounding the property keeps the house very private. Bugs were not an issue even with all of the doors open because of the nice breeze. The master bedroom is also quite a treat with a very comfortable king size bed and lots and lots of closet space. There is also a private upstairs patio that gets tons of direct sun all day long which is great for tanning. The best part of the day is showering off in the master bathrooms shower. One wall of the shower opens up over the pool and tropical breezes blow through keeping the humidity down and temperature very comfortable. Staying at this house was so comfortable and relaxing it felt like home. I am looking forward to returning as soon as possible.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

With our three boys we spent 2 wonderfull weeks at the Gregg. The house was in excellent shape and we did in fact not miss the air condition. There is always a breeze that makes you feel comfortable. Kitchen and bathrooms are fine - you wont´t miss anything. The Gregg is a good starting point for West and East coast beaches and is close to Holetown whith it´s nice places for dining and shopping. We had a great time at this place.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We spent 12 wonderful days at the Crag in feb 2011. The house was perfect for us and our 2 young children, but could easily accomodate more people. The pool kept the children busy for hours and the quiet secluded spot was perfect for us all. The house is really close to Holetown and all the west coast beaches but also felt far away from the hustle and bustle and very peaceful. the house is very clean and cool because it is nicely positioned .The photos actually do not do the property justice and it is even better than it looks in the photos. The owners were very helpful and gave some helpful tips and directions to help enjoy our stay. We loved our stay here it is a perfect family house or for couples too as each bedroom has privacy and an en suite bathroom. We would highly recommend the Crag, we hope to retrun soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
