  Our family of 4 loved every bit of this beautiful apartment. From the art in the entry hall to the private courtyard retreat, we felt we were in a tropical paradise. The ceiling fans provided ample breeze and the kitchen was fully equipped for some experimental cooking after a short walk to the local farmer's market. Our 6 and 8 yr-old loved the space as much as we did, and there was plenty of room for all 4 of us. The building was quiet and safe, yet close to everything we wanted to see. The owner was extremely kind and responsive. An amazing vacation at an incredibly reasonable price!!!

  My husband and I loved the apartment! We had the whole first floor to ourselves. Our favorite part was the open air (private) courtyard in the middle of the apartment. The huge doors for all the rooms opened up to the center courtyard and the wind breezed through. It was lovely! The apartment is also centrally located in Old San Juan, so you can walk everywhere. We definitely recommend this place.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

  What a find! We spent four nights at this historic and charming apartment. It's in the heart of Old San Juan and minutes from Plaza des Armas where you'll find two grocery stores and other amenities. The courtyard is even more impressive in person and a wonderful place to sit at any time of the day. The walls are adorned with some beautiful art works of Alfonso Arana. SO much better than a soulless hotel. Highly recommended.

  Centric apartment in the heart of Old San Juan. Close to everything to explore Old San Juan. My family and I have enjoyed for five consecutive years in the same season. Although not air conditioned temperature is very nice for this time. It has fans and even a blanket might need it is very cool. It has a beautiful private courtyard full of foliage to enjoy. It is walking distance to everything: supermarket, stores, the best restaurants in the area, even the attractions such as El Morro. All walking distance. You don't need a car. And the owners: class apart A+++.

  We stayed here in Jan 2013, and had a wonderful time. The indoor/outdoor courtyard is lovely, and the apartment is comfy and spacious. The owners live upstairs, which is always nice, and they were very friendly and helpful. The apartment is convenient to all of OSJ, and we'd definitely stay again on a return visit. One small caveat--there are quite a few mosquitos w/ the open-air aspect of the apt. (There is netting for the bed.) I'm pretty sensitive, so I did get a lot of bites, but even so, it was a great place for a great price! Thanks so much!

  We stayed in the appartment for 2 days out of 9 day vacation in Puerto Rico and really enjoyed it. It's NOT a hotel room so don't expect sound proof dwelling, there are no windows but you get a beautiful patio with plants instead. You may want to turn the floor fans on high to make it more sound proof. The appartment is clean but because it's an open air place there're mosquitos there. There are 2 beds with mosquito nets and the later are the life saviers at night. Do bring mosquito repellent as there's a ton of mosquitoes in Puerto Rico even at the beach. Lack of TV or AC weren't a problem at all. There're enough fans to keep you cool. We visited in mid January and the tempreture outside was 70s-low 80s degrees. You deffinately get the feel that you go back in time when you stay in this appartment. The location couldn't have been better as you can walk to any place in Old San Juan. There is no need to rent a car while in town. We had a 2 year old son with us and he walked (not set in a stroller) as we went from one end to another of this beautiful town. Luis (the owner) is super nice and gracious and his daughter Olivia was very helpful and responsive as other reviewer mentioned.

  Our stay in this delightful apartment was the highlight of a trip that started in San Juan and ended in Curacao. Sitting eating breakfast in the open patio area surrounded by tropical plants is something that should not be missed. You must go in with an open mind and you will enjoy all the character and special attributes of the apartment. Luis, the owner, is a delightful host who readily shares his knowledge and the culture of San Juan. We also happened to be in San Juan for Three Kings Eve and Day. Music drifting from apartments around the area and people strolling with families were special times as was watching the sunset from a nearby park. Go and enjoy.

  My husband & I spent 2 nights here (not enough) before traveling around PR for 1 week. We wished we'd had more time in OSJ, and will definitely rent this place again on our next visit. It is exactly as it shown in the pics. It is an oasis in the middle of a vibrant neighborhood. It is within walking distance to everything in Old San Juan, we didn't rent a car while in OSJ. It was warm but used the fans supplied and thank goodness for the mosquito net around the bed and had no problems ! Luis is a gem, a wealth of information & very helpful. Olivia is responsive to questions / concerns by email / phone. we are so glad we stayed here and not in a big resort (even though we like resorts)

  We loved this apartment so much we have decided to stay here the next time we are in Puerto Rico. This house is a quiet and relaxing atmosphere in the middle of a city full of life, color, and joy. I think somebody here said they were disapointed because there was no AC or television, but this was exactly what we were looking for. There was no noise in this house,promoting human conectedness ( if you are traveling with your significant other or friends) or introspection ( if you are needing some time alone). As for the lack of AC, we traveled in December and had no difficulty with the heat. The house has plenty of fans and thick walls. Sinec the patio is only for the enjoyment of the house's guests, you can leave the doors of the bedroom ( these open to th patio) to let the ocean breeze that runs through the island come in! The interior patio was like an oasis. It is great for breakfast in the morning and for wine in the evenings too. The house looked exactly like in the pictures posted here, even better. IT was clean and Luis was an excellent host. Puerto RIco is a great vacation spot. we are coming back and we are staying in this house!

  Old plumbing and no AC, but my wife and I loved its charm and the old San Juan experience, as opposed to a resort hotel experience. And Luis is a combination of expert guide and your favorite next door neighbor.
