The Photos Don't Do It Justice!

We honeymooned at this amazing property for two weeks at the beginning of October 2011. Our review basically boils down to: RENT THE COZY ADOBE, ALREADY! But as you may want some further details... 1) Its a home. Willy and her family have done an amazing job on the place. It shows through that they spend a lot of time there when the place isn't being rented. This means that its not a cold, barebones, "we bought stuff for renters" place. Its tastefully decorated, warm and, well, cozy! It was also immaculately clean when we arrived. 2) The above leads to a slight problem if you're staying for only a couple weeks- if you're like us, you're going to want to spend at least a few days just hanging out 'at home' - so you might need to build that into any hiking or other plans. It was hard to drag ourselves away from the adobe! (There's also a distinct possibility that you may not want to return home!) 3) The location is astonishing. We had never been to Moab before and were very glad that we didn't stay in Moab itself. Castle Valley was fantastic- beautiful views every way you look- and the gorgeous La Sal Mountains. From the living room of the Cozy Adobe we watched 3 mule deer make their way around the house, and on another night watched a gray fox saunter by, going about his business, his beautiful tail dragging on the ground. There's neighbors not too far away, but the way in which they've situated the house means you can hardly see any other structures. This gives you the feeling of being truly away from everyone and everything. 4) Willy is fantastic- she answered all emails very promptly and addressed all of our questions. She also called when we first arrived as she was worried whether we had made it due to bad weather that was being experienced at the time. 5) There's a great listing of local hikes/activities in the Adobe and the detailed Moab east & west maps. Fisher Towers at sunset is a MUST. We also did a trip with Canyonlands Ballooning and highly recommend a hot air balloon ride with them- its an incredible way to experience the landscape and get a very good feel for the area. We also hiked Oowah Lake to Clark Lake loop in the La Sals- amazing to be hiking in the desert one day and in alpine snow the next! Beautiful trail- even flushed a golden eagle. In short- rent this place. If you're looking for self-catering and enjoy being in nature, you're not going to regret it. The hot tub after a hike isn't bad either...
Owner response:It is always great to hear all this positive feedback about our Cozy Adobe. We love our home! One reason it stays in such good shape is that we only rent it on a monthly basis and we plan to keep it that way.

This adobe in Castle Valley, Utah, is a jewel. We stayed here in October and November 2010 and loved it. The house is set on 5 acres and is very private, quiet, and peaceful. It is perfectly suited for an individual or couple looking for a retreat, yet is within easy driving distance of all the nearby outdoor attractions of Southeast Utah. We immediately felt at home here, and always looked forward to returning to the inviting hot tub to gaze at the stars and soothe our hiking muscles. The adobe is fully and tastefully furnished, and has many special touches and thoughtful items. The owners clearly love the place. You will, too.

The listing description, the photos do reflect the rental's appearance The adobe was very clean and well-maintained. The house is extremely well equipped and has a lot of charm. The owner was very helpful in answering all our questions. We definitely will try to stay again in this wonderful house. For a single traveller or couple looking for a perfect home apart from home (and apart from urban hustle and bustle), this adobe situated almost in paradise will be perfect.

We want to return to Cozy Adobe

This was the third VRBO that we have stayed, and each experience was memorable, but for us the "gold standard" will aways be the Cozy Adobe. Everything was just as we expected, it was perfectly presented in the photos and description. The pleasant surprises were the attention to artistic details, the peace & quiet, the ease of quickly feeling at home, and the beautiful setting. After reviewing all our photos, I was not surprised at the great number I took just from the front porch; at every time of day and lighting. Every moment had it's special beauty. We were fortunant to meet the owner when we checked in, and had a lovely tour of the Cozy Adobe. We knew that we were only a phone call away if we needed anything, and always felt that we were in good hands if we had a need. Fortunatly there is so much to do in the Moab area, that one month was not enough for us. We want to return to Cozy Adobe in the future. We can easily recommend it to anybody. Even though there is room for more than two, it is a perfect place for a couple to share a special time together. This is what we did, and still had a wonderful setting for our friends to come visit and party. Moab is rich in outdoor experiences--Canyonlands and Arches National Parks, a variety of restaurants in Moab, and do not forget some of the adventures from the area outfitters. We especially enjoyed rappeling into a slot canyon and then off Morning Glory Natural Bridge, to then hiking out of Negro Jim Canyon--my first for my 62nd birthday!!!

I stayed here in July and August 2009 and returned again with my partner for a month (August 2010). The place is absolutely incredible - even better than the description. There are some lovely touches around the house that aren't even mentioned in the description, and the beauty and peacefulness of the place (together with wireless internet access) make it a perfect retreat. Last night was spent sipping wine while sitting in the outside hot tub under the stars - no one else can see you, and all you can see is the desert and the night sky. Amazing, cannot recommend highly enough.
