Why the Owner Chose Fort Worth

With our busy schedules this location works out great for us. We can take a "last minute" get away and be there within 30 minutes and really feel like we are getting away. The location offers the best of both worlds. A country setting on 2.3 acres that offers privacy but is convenient to everything we want, need and like to do.

The Unique Benefits of this House

We've been told by previous guest that the setting reminds them of the hill country. We enjoy watching the wildlife (Deer, hawks and lizards mostly). We love the character rustic charm and history of this 1920's home. It was originally part of a 100 acre dairy farm in the 1900's. We have had the pleasure of connecting with the grand daughter of the family that built this home.

Thanksgiving in Texas

Guest: Sally (MA)
Date of Stay: 11/19/11 Review Submitted: 11/28/11

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is lovely, quiet and one has the feeling of past with all the conveniences of today. It was immaculate. We even entertained guests one evening for a New England home cooked dinner. Road construction in the area (Dallas/Fort Worth) was the only draw back . We especially like the near by grocery stores, deer, and Fort Worth Wildlife Refuge. We also visited Grapevine and Weatherford for a local feel to the area. For kids and the adult kids in the group, the Cowboys Stadium self directed tour was fun. The stone house was perfect for us. We highly recommend a stay.

Owner response:Hi Sally, Our sincerest thanks for the review about your visit. We are happy you enjoyed the home and the area. Thank you for choosing Paso Roble! We hope you keep us in mind in the future. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. The Schellenbergers

The house...the property, was better than the pictures or description. My brother said he would love to live in a place just like this. The deer were abundant! The home was beautiful. After being in the city, which is closer than you think, it was a great place to come back to. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

Owner response:Hi Katherine! Thank you so much! We are glad to hear you enjoyed it as much as we do when we are there. The best part is being able to share it. Knowing that our guest (families and friends)make good memories spending time together there makes it worth while. Best wishes!

Roseanne, I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Paso Roble. Everthing at your beautiful Azle stone cottage was first rate, and it was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had in a long time. We hope to return very soon – maybe during fall break or spring break again next year. Although we lost an hour after arrival, due to daylight savings time, we appreciate your giving us an extra hour on checkout.

Enchanting !!

Last year my girlfriends & I stayed at Paso Robles twice, Mid June & Mid Oct. Each stay was simply perfect & magical. The area surrounding the home is lovely & so peaceful. You feel away from everything yet all Fort Worth attractions are approx. 15-25mins away. The home itself is beautifully appointed & so, so comfortable. Roseanne & her husband pay attention to every detail. During our stays we've been happy & pleased, everything you could possibly need is supplied, even magical wildlife! During our stays we've seen many Deer, the Owl they named "Cosmo" & the Lizard that likes to 'hang out" outside the windows. Like Goldie Locks I've slept in every bed there. They are all wonderful. Front bedroom bedding/mattress is what sleeping in heaven must be like, same goes for sun room daybed & the lush leather sofa sleeper. If you like a firmer yet comfortable mattress, 2nd bedroom is yours! All bedding/pillows, linens, towels exquisite. Get ready, everyday dishes/glasses/flatware are -very nice-...just having a bowl of cereal will feel upscale! Can't imagine what her "good dishes" are like /-) ! Both dinning room & outside veranda are perfect areas to gather family for meals or activities. Both are spacious & comfortable. Outdoor fire pit...siting under the stars.... don't miss the special opportunity to feel/be one w/ nature. Yes there is an awesome CD, DVD player & big screen t.v. to enjoy but there is nothing like the magic of Paso Robles sunrises/sunsets, evening stars, mother moon & enchanting wildlife outside. In my mind's eye, I'm -there- & can't wait to be there again soon

I just wanted to thank you for letting us stay at Paso Roble in November. We had such a wonderful time and we will definitely want to return in the future! I had a couple questions about things that were in the house and I was going to see if you could answer them. Out of total curiosity, we were wondering if that was a cow hide in the living room. We had never seen a cow with such long, soft hair as that before and we were curious. Also, what kind of sheets/comforters do you have on the beds? It was seriously the most comfortable bedding I think I've ever slept on and a month later can still remember it. I'd like to know what it is and where it's from so I can buy it for my house. Thanks again for everything and I hope things are going well!

The house was wonderful, it is exactly as it is in the pictures. It's in a nice queit neighborhood setting. We spent a week there and felt very safe and far away from the big cities!! The owners were great about answering questions about the whole rental process and the local area. The surrounding areas of Fort Worth, Weatherford and even Granbury are very nice. We give it two-thumbs up!!

Owner response:Thank you..we are elated you enjoyed your stay!

I saw this home when it was for sale a while back. I loved the rock and noticed the petrified wood. I knew it could be beautiful with a lot of work and a little love. You have done a wonderful job based on the pictures on your website. Thanks for saving such a wonderful home.

Owner response:Thank you very much Bonnie. We enjoy this home tremendously and hope our guests do as well.

I needed a quiet get away to relax and clear my mind, and this was a great place to do it! Turning into the drive immediately spotted 8 deer and other small wildlife. Close enough to restaraunts and other conveniences, but far enough for peace and quiet! Loved the house, the decor, the porches, the scenery and the privacy! Enjoyed a great country breakfast at the R&K Cafe within 5 minutes and was back to curl up and enjoy nature and time to watch a few movies! I highly recommend for large or small group! I am contemplating a family gathering as well, because there was plenty of room to have family activities outside! Thank you!

We really ejoyed our stay during our girl's weekend. The home met all of our needs and was very comfortable. The location was perfect for having fun in Fort Worth. Weatherford was a nice place to have lunch and spend the day. We saw about 12 deer one night. Thanks again and we hope to return soon! Susan
