This brand new 3 bedroom beach house has been designed by one of Australia's young gun architects to offer a unique and secluded retreat in close proximity to the famed beaches and conservation areas of Noosa Heads. The shack has been featured in a number of architecture publications and has recently won a regional award from the Institute of Architects.
Located in Settler's cove, overlooking a koala conservation area bordering Noosa Sound but only seconds from the shops of Noosa Junction and a few minutes drive to either Noosa Main Beach or Sunshine Beach.
The design captures every breeze on the enormous entertaining deck which floats above the ground providing tree top viewing of the the spectacular native birdlife and other wildlife. At night, the external lighting transforms the architectural features of the house and surrounding vegetation.
The house has been designed to cater for large family groups who want a holiday house that complements the ebb and flow of a relaxed beach holiday but can also provide that special destination for lasting memories.
So Close to Everything
The house has been sited to take maximum advantage of retained vegetation and the nearby conservation areas. The adjacent walking/bicycle path can have you to the public jetty fronting Noosa Sound in a few brief minutes and further on to Hasting Street and Noosa Main Beach and the national park or to Noosaville and the sunday markets and riverfront restaurants.
The house features a luxury kitchen, dining room, powder room, living area/sleepout and entertainment deck under a spectacular vaulted ceiling with the master bedroom/ensuite on the same level.
At ground level there is a second bathroom, laundry and separate toilet with a guest room and bunkhouse (sleeps 4) and private decks and verandahs and gas BBQ.
All finishes have been carefully selected to make cleaning a breeze.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed Noosa Heads over a quick 3 day Christmas holiday thanks to the lovely Shack property. The house is well appointed and laid out with the central focus around the open air deck which connects the living area to the master bedroom. The tree canopy surrounding the property is filled with amazing bird song and a good amount of shade to protect from the heat. All the details of the house are well maintained including the beds, bathrooms and kitchen appliances and utensils. We cooked a nice Christmas dinner on the grill outside and enjoyed the luxuries of a home cooked meal while traveling. Wireless internet worked well in the kitchen area and was definitely handy when trying to "FaceTime" with our families for Christmas. The house is a 2 minute walk into the central part of town and a 15-20 minute walk to the beach. We barely used our car while staying here as it was more fun to walk through the town and enjoy the relaxed beach lifestyle.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

What a lovely home! It was just as attractive as the photos show. The "Shack" was neat and tidy and had every ammenity to make our 2 week Christmas stay just perfect. We had planned this holiday house to be for me, my husband and 3 children(ages 9,6 and 2) but as a surprise, my in-laws also stayed with us. This house was perfectly laid out to afford "family time" as well as privacy. It accomodated the seven of us just fine.We prepared many family meals in the well- stocked kitchen. We also enjoyed the wonderful local eateries that were all so close by. We had beaches and shopping within walking distance(although we usually hopped in the car for quicker access). We loved the nature trails behind the house for morning walks. Our favorite was listening to all the animals in the evenings as we cozied up out on the couch in the outdoor living area. This home is perfectly located to enjoy Noosa and the many attractions close by. We liked that it was in a residential setting and not right in the middle of Hastings Street. The peace and quiet was fantastic! We had a car so we took advantage of the Shack's central location to many tourist attractions...Australia Zoo, Monteville, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Aussie World, Eumundi markets, Rainbow Beach, Noosa State Park and Sunshine Beach and many more. Fraser Island is a must(the tour company in town will come right to the Shack to pick you up!) The house also had a handy notebook with fabulous restaurant recommendations. We would agree with homeowner's fine taste in food! and add to his list the local Indian place(I forget the name of it). Sitting on the riverbanks eating fish and chips from Red Emperor and lunch looking out over the waves at the Sunshine Beach Surf Lifesaving Club were our favorites. This is the perfect home for a perfect vacation whether you want to do a lot of sight-seeing or just slow down and relax. Besides all the fun things to do, the beds and couches are super comfortable and perfect for a good book or a nap. They even provided a portable crib for our toddler's sleeping comfort! We definitely plan to make this our home-away-from-home in Queensland! When we come back to visit my in-laws, we plan to stay at the "Shack"!!!! Thanks for being great hosts!-----------a happy family, USARecommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

About the owner: Welcome to our holiday home. We hope that your stay in The Shack is a perfect underpinning to a memorable holiday in Noosa. The Shack grew out of a dream to create an opportunity for our family to experience a little of what it was like to grow up in Sunshine Beach during the 1970’s where my parents had a shack. Many things have changed since then but the magic of Noosa is still there in a way that few other places in the world can match. The house was designed by Paul Hotston and Morgan Jenkins of Phorm Architecture to provide a refuge from a hectic world and form the basis for extended family holidays. Mick Devlin from Braeden Constructions applied the skills of a true master craftsman in bringing the house to life. We love the shack, we hope you will too. Mike and Sim Burgess
Why the Owner Chose Noosa Heads:
We designed this house to be different - I lived on the beach here for many years and wanted to recapture the simplicity that was the basis for so many great family gatherings. it's a home that is special to be in, keep you relaxed and use as a base to explore the natural beauty of the area.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
These days, Noosa is a relaxed, cozy beach town nestled within a National Park precinct that is now a recognized UNESCO World Biosphere conservation area. It is home to a population of koalas who inhabit the area all year round. The Shack looks right out over this conservation area, and, if you’re lucky enough, you may just catch a glimpse of these koalas going about their daily life. Whether you’re enjoying being surrounded by Native pine trees, families of kookaburras and scrub fowls, relaxing in the sun at the beach, shopping in the world class boutiques, or feasting in famous restaurants, all of this is only a hop, skip and a jump away from your doorstep.
