Stunning Oceanfront Home with Incredible Ocean Views

Renowned architect Elee Tsai designed this gorgeous home --so close to the water’s edge -- to be a reflection of our soul’s connection with heaven and earth. Situated on one of the most spectacular ocean bluff sites on the coast, Vista Del Mar (“View of the Sea”) boasts incredibly broad unobstructed white and blue water ocean views from every bedroom in the home as well as the dining room, living room and kitchen. Absorb the full force of the commanding waves against the black rocks, feel the breeze against your face - this is The Sea Ranch at its absolute best.
Remodeled in 2010, Vista Del Mar has retained its beauty and elegant open floor plan with its soaring open beam ceiling and warm wood detailing throughout the interior of the home. Located on a quiet cul-de-sac just a short ten minute walk to the Ohlson Recreation Center and beach, vacationers can swim, sauna or play tennis.
Musicians will love being able to take in a glorious sun setting over the sea while playing the Steinway Baby Grand piano and others will appreciate the large window seats, fireplace and wood burning stove. Movie fans will love the large flat screen TV (with DirectTV satellite) or the dramatic surround sounds on the Bose Acoustimass entertainment center. Those that can’t escape the outside world will appreciate the Wi-Fi throughout the home as well as the free nationwide long distance phone service.
When entertaining, the chef in your group will love the large well equipped gourmet kitchen, -- the exquisite Honduran Mahogany cabinetry -- and the barbecue cook will appreciate the high quality, outdoor grill with a direct propane connection. There is plenty of space for everyone to relax on the 1600 sq ft deck while taking in the splendors of the crashing ocean waves from the deck chairs; look for the whales during their late fall and spring migration. After dinner soak in the hot tub and watch the moon sail across the star-filled sky in the brand new 50-jet spa (which can be closed off for complete privacy).
This spacious 2400 sq ft home offers sleeping for eight with three bedrooms and a loft. The overall ambiance of this home, complemented by the tasteful furnishings, creates the perfect escape for relaxation and enjoyment of nature’s beauty.

I highly recommend this property - - pictures can not reflect the uniqueness of this gorgeous escape right next to the ocean--the house was spotless on arrival with an immaculately cared-for and very appealing atmosphere throughout the home. We could watch sea lions and their pups from the front deck area and more than one beckoning walk was made throughout our stay along the beautiful Sea Ranch oceanfront. I have deftly lost more than one tennis match at the enclave's courts--maybe I will try their beautiful golf course next time, as I am sure to return to this very relaxed but well-appointed home. Nature's masterful blending of sea and land on the north coast was not crowded and we were able to make use of the nearby town of Gualala's bounty of food, wine and arts and crafts choices.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I honestly can't imagine a more beautiful and tranquil place to spend a long weekend than Vista Del Mar. The panoramic ocean views, the lingering sunsets, the restless waves, the tidal pools filled with sea life, the harbor seals on the rocks -- all of this soul-stirring spectacle envelops visitors to this remarkable property. The home is immaculately maintained; every need has been considered and provided for. Nearby recreational amenities abound. The owners are a great pleasure to work with. Our highest recommendation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We had a fabulous and relaxing Spring Break as a family enjoying the views, walking back and forth to the beach and being able to walk for tennis, swimming and basketball. The house is simple and clean and the morning / evening hot tub with an amazing view could not be beat.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

EXCELLENT. What more can I say? This stunning oceanfront home is exactly that. A chef's kitchen, views from every room, and Adirondack chairs on the deck to enjoy the beautiful view make this house a winner. The owner, John, is also a gem. Easy to work with and was very attentive leading up to our stay and afterwards. Beds were comfy and I loved having access to a music system in the house. We cooked and listed to music with wine in our glasses all evening, watching the sun go down. Just a perfect stay at a perfect home. Would totally recommend it to friends, family, and other VRBO renters. This place is the best!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This Sea Ranch home is absolutely breathtaking! We could not have enjoyed our time there more. Highlights: Views from every room; Amazing hot tub under the stars; Private beach just steps away (we were the only ones there!); The PIANO - we were lucky enough to have two people in our group who play, so we had our own sea side concerts; Watching the sunset from the gorgeous deck. We can't stop talking about our amazing time at Vista Del Mar and are hoping to go back again soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Spacious California north coast retreat with uncluttered views of the coast from a seaside vantage point. Unforgettable sunsets from inside, on the deck or in the hot tub. Serene accommodations with privacy for parents or host and separate bath & bedrooms for kids or guests. We found no real need to drive anywhere once we had stocked up with food. Just watching, walking and jogging up and down the coast or on the local trails provided plenty of variety and peace. For those new to the area there are plenty of local attractions in towns and parks up and down the coast. The house has a good internet connection with TV and sound system if you don't want a total disconnect from daily life. The weather on our fall weekend was perfect for shorts and tee shirts. We look forward to experiencing the winter weather on a return trip -- and then warming ourselves by the two fireplaces.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Recently, I had the privilege of staying at Vista Del Mar on the Sonoma Coast, and the experience far-exceeded my expectations. Being from Seattle, I am accustomed to staying at world-class homes and resorts in the Pacific Northwest for both pleasure and business. I have never stayed at a nicer place than Vista Del Mar in over 30 years. The location at Sea Ranch is beautiful, private, and very peaceful. The home is stunning and has everything one would want or need during a stay. It is in immaculate shape and the listing photos accurately reflect the appearance and amenities. On one of the days at Vista Del Mar, our group played golf at Sea Ranch Golf Links. Though I had planned to play, I chose to spend my time sitting on the deck and enjoyed quiet time watching the ocean until the golfers returned for hot tub and cocktail time. The owner was very helpful and gave me a great deal of information about the entire area which contributed to an excellent whole experience. I would strongly recommend this property to anyone, feel it is a good value, and plan to return again in early 2013 for a family reunion. My thanks to the owner for an absolutely delightful experience! This is a beautiful, spacious and impeccably maintained home on a breathtaking stretch of the Sonoma County coast. The pictures and words can not fully express the feelings of relaxing on the deck or lounging in the hot tub as deer graze on native grasses a few steps away, hawks soar majestically overhead, waves crash at your feet and you watch the sun sink into the pacific. The home is equipped with all the amenities you'd want. Great golf, tennis, kayaking and more are there for the taking. A wonderful getaway that you won't forget.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Excellent in every way! Vista Del Mar is wonderful inside and out. The views of the spectacular sea in all its grandeur can be found in every room. An easy walk to Stengel Beach. Words cannot do it justice. It was the most relaxing 3 days I have ever spent in any one place. IN addition, you can kayak on the beautiful Gualala river only a few miles down the road. Or, play a set or two of tennis- the courts are well maintained.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Sea Ranch Golf Links View on map
American Express Magazine Travel and Leisure "Journey to the Garden of Youth" by Sports Illustratred golf writer John Garrity: "....on the sixth fairway of the Sea Ranch Golf Links, I saw the light. Don't ask me why the sixth fairway. I loved this unpretentious golf course from the moment I pulled into the parking lot and looked past the golf shop at a meadow riven with stands of twisted cypress and bishop pine. Braced by a freshening wind, I went off alone. As I walked up the second fairway, the sun broke out of the clouds. On the third hole, a woodland par three, I hit a six iron over the heads of deer grazing at the end of the tee box. But it was on the sixth, a windswept par five dogleg around

The Hot Spot View on map
The "Hot Spot" is here on the Gualala River and legend has it that it was given it's moniker by Jack London (The Call of the Wild, White Fang, Sea Wolf, et al) who considered it to be one of the finest fishing holes in the entire world. It is fun to speculate as to how much of this area fed Jack's imagination when the novels were gestating in his noggin. Today, the Hot Spot is an excellent place for a family picnic (complete with classic picnic tables in sylvan setting). If you bring children with you, maybe you should suggest that they read London before they arrive. It might make their experience a bit different from the usual television driven imagination of today's youth. Who knows, they might even%
