Standing Wave is one of our favorite places to stay on the Sonoma coast. The views are stunning, and the house is perfect for a couple. We will continue going back. Always a pleasure!

My husband has been coming to the Sea Ranch. He’s a diver for most of his life so a place for him to reconnect. It was more than we asked for and we definitely will come back. It’s such a charming, quaint cozy place to stay and just stare out the window at the whales see you again.

The hosts were excellent and incredibly kind in welcoming us into their home! The views were absolutely incredible and the bedroom and bathroom were both clean and comfortable. The outdoor dining table and grill were an amazing touch. We’d be thrilled to stay again!

The view from this cottage on the bluff was amazing and beautiful.The solitude and privacy was peaceful.The cottage was clean and organized with a small kitchen and outdoor propane barbecue grill.We had an enjoyable and memorable stay.

Holy cow, this property is incredible! Absolutely accurate to the listing’s description and pictures. Saw bunches of whales from laying in bed! Also vultures, quails, cranes, and even bats at dusk! The place was amazing. Definitely worth the more expensive per-night price.

What a special place! We loved staying here…clean, welcoming space. The bathroom is spacious, great shower with fabulous water pressure and wonderful patio with the ultimate view! We were going to eat at the Lodge but opted to bring our burgers back to the cottage and enjoy the view with wine we brought from home. We’d love to return.

Five stars! The guest house was the perfect oceanfront escape. The views were absolutely breathtaking—watching the whales, waves, sunsets, and coastal scenery (literally from the living room window!!) made every moment feel special.The space was cozy, peaceful, and thoughtfully appointed, with everything needed for a relaxing stay. It felt private and serene while still being a wonderful base for exploring the beautiful coastline and trails nearby… not to mention easy access to the Sea Ranch Lodge, Gualala, and surrounding sites. We can’t wait to return. Highly recommend this special place to anyone looking for a quiet, beautiful retreat by the ocean.

Being perched on the cliff allowed an unparalleled view of the cove, ocean, trees, whales spouting and sunsets.The place was clean with the exception of the lovely plate glass windows and the chairs placed above the cliff. In order to enjoy the amazing view, we had to clean the very blurry windows.
