Hummingbird House - Large Luxury Villa with Spectacular Views

Located on the lower slopes of Mount Nevis, the property benefits from great views yet only 5 minutes from the beach. The villa is located in arguably one of the best private gardens on the island. Lush tropical plants, palm trees and fruit trees with spectacular views 180 degrees across the Caribbean sea and St Kitts.
Extensive accommodation includes on the upper level 3 large bedrooms (2 king and 1 twin) all ensuite with the master bathroom having both indoor shower, outdoor shower and roll top bath with picturesque views of the garden. . The large Great Room features a very well stocked kitchen (redesigned in 2020) and extensive seating area with entertainment centre inc Smart TV. To the rear of the property is a screened verandah with seating area where one can relax overlooking the gardens and rain forest and watch the monkeys or hummingbirds!
The best feature of the property is the large screened front verandah with a seating area and dining table which can, if required, seat up to 10 adults. It offers spectacular views of the pool, additional decking, garden and the Caribbean sea across to St Kitts.
On the lower level the owners have built an air conditioned family games room which extends the width of the property. This features pool table and a relaxed seating area where the settees also convert to double beds capable of sleeping an additional 1-2 adults. Adjoining this room is a large ensuite wet room and wc ideal for washing off the sand after a day at the beach.
Hummingbird House is situated in a very small development with no passing traffic. The neighbours are friendly and local professionals.
Perhaps the most stunning feature of Hummingbird House are the beautiful gardens and views which extend both over to St Kitts and Mount Nevis. The large decking provides an ideal area to relax and enjoy a morning coffee, light lunch or evening cocktails, whilst the outdoor dining pavilion comfortably seats 12 guests.
The nearest beach is only a 5 minute drive away, accessed via either Jessups or Barnes Ghaut villages, whilst supermarkets, Charlestown and airport are only a 10 minute drive away.

A wonderful week!

We had a fabulous week at Hummingbird. The house was extremely clean and well appointed and had everything we needed. The hosts were so wonderful to work with, very attentive to every detail. Check in with Patterson, their house manager was smooth and he was available throughout the week for any questions we had. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with us.

Hummingbird Heaven!

Everything about our 10 day stay at Hummingbird in Nevis was superb. The owner’s most helpful recommendations were spot-on and his arrangements for getting from St Kitts airport worked seamlessly. The house itself was just as described and extremely comfortable and well-equipped (including lots of cold drinks on arrival)! We spent many a happy hour dipping in the pool and watching the monkeys in the trees and the bird-life. The house manager was extremely helpful and his team were most obliging and charming when coming to clean the pool or change the gas on the bbq. Would highly recommend Hummingbird for a family holiday on laid-back, friendly Nevis!

Wonderful property and home with views of St. Kitts and Mt. Nevis

This is our third visit to Hummingbird House. We enjoy staring out towards St. Kitts or looking back to see Mt. Nevis as we sip our morning coffee. Hummingbirds are throughout the property. The house is well taken care of and the owners are wonderful. Nevis has a special place in our family’s hearts.

Gets better every time

Been many times to stay here and always great. The owners add new items to the property every year and it’s always fun seeing what those are. The upgraded kitchen appliances this time are a huge addition. Always impressed by the lovely, quiet neighbourhood, lovely gardens, great decking and lots of space. The staff supporting the house are friendly and efficient and everything happens like clockwork which isn’t bad for a laid back island. Owners very receptive and helpful

Third Time & Still Charming!

We just can't get enough of Hummingbird House. This was our third year and it was the best ever. Clair & Richard, the owners, who could not be more attentive and friendly, are continually improving their home and this year we enjoyed the new range/oven, refrigerator and washer/dryer. And the large gas grill on the deck is perfect! We're told more surprises await on our next visit in 2019. It's hard to leave Hummingbird with the huge screened porch, pool just a few steps out the door and large deck with amazing views of the Caribbean and St. Kitts. But venture out we did. We had wonderful lunches at Montpelier and Chrishi Beach Club and a great dinner at The Yachtsman. We also spent a few days at Chrishi beach on the lounges with the cool bar and restaurant steps away. A day trip via the ferry over to St. Kitts was fun and satisfied the retail therapy requirement and included a nice lunch at Sweet Cane - good fresh fish!. One tip: we took the much faster Apple Syder "ferry" back to Nevis. It's a speed boat that runs out of the St. Kitts marina and only costs $5 more per person. While the monkeys, goats and occasional donkey provide lots of entertainment, we mostly enjoyed just hanging out at the pool, on the screened porch and out on the deck. Terrific breezes and beautiful Caribbean weather. We even saw our first "Green Flash" at sunset on the deck one evening! As mentioned above, we are heading back to Hummingbird House next year and are as excited as we were the first time. We're obviously charmed!
