"Our experience at Villa de Arcos was a 5 *. The views from every floor are spectacular. Being at the end of the road, there is no traffic noise. Just a few crowing roosters and the occasional barking dog. Such is the beauty of Mexico!
In summary, the house is beautiful and well maintained inside and out. We loved the tile work and unique decorations throughout, and the furniture is in overall good condition. We found the beds to be very comfortable and the on suite master bath is huge!!! There is a lot of storage space in all the bedrooms with an abundant supply of both bath and beach towels, along with extra sheets and blankets. The kitchen is well equipped, so it’s easy to make yummy drinks and healthy meals. FYI: there's a great pizza place at the bottom of the hill and a Mexican fellow sets up a hamburger/hotdog stand next door to the pizza place. Very yummy and tasty!
The house has multiple levels, thus MANY MANY stairs. We were fine with this, but those with mobility issues should be warned. Also, there is NO AC. However, there are ceiling fans throughout the house and these are very efficient at keeping the air fresh and cool all day long.
Outdoors, the plants and flowers around the pool are beautiful and there's also a mango tree! The pool itself is wonderful and was well maintained during our stay. The pool loungers (foam) are a nice bonus. What a luxury!!! The palapa / patio furniture is well kept with lots of chairs, including comfy sunbeds. We ate outside almost every meal. The patio area is large and the views are stunning.
The caretaker (pool expert, gardener and general handyman) was very helpful in answering our needs, as was his wife (property manager). If we had any questions, they had most of the answers. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival and shown how everything works.
As mentioned in previous reviews, the climb to reach the house can be quite the adventure, even with a car, especially after the rain damaged the road while we were there, leaving some pretty big rutts. We opted to rent a car and this was finally a very wise choice for us. The rental owner has contacts at the nearby car rental office and he was great in setting this up for us. The car was waiting for us at the house when we arrived.
Would we rent this home again? You bet we would!!! Except that it is already reserved for several months next winter… That shows just how great a place this is!!!"

"We had an awesome stay at Sue's condo at Puerto Las Hadas. We were there four 4 weeks and the time just flew by! Lots of friendly Canadians and that is what made our trip for us. Condo was good although though the floors could use a good cleaning! Bed was comfy and having Canadian satellite TV was a plus. We did have a few days of rain which apparently is rare for Manzanillo otherwise temp was great. Pool was very nice with very good service from pool restaurant!"

Privacy, Intimacy and Isolation on an Island (really a peninsula) Paradise
"We spent about 10 days at this lovely home on Isla Navidad. The house was beautifully maintained, and on the grounds of (though totally separate from) the Grand Isla Navidad Resort (although we had privileges there). At the villa was had our own small pool and daily maid service. The beach was nearby, although we didn't swim there, preferring to swim at the large hotel pool.
Not easily accessible without a car. We used our car daily to go to the resort and nearby towns, and to buy groceries and eat at restaurants (when we're weren't cooking at the villa).
Although the house didn't have cable or satellite TV, it had a selection of DVD's, and we also brought our own.
This is a great house to spend a vacation - it is private, reasonably luxurious, intimate and beautiful. The peninsula on which the hotel and villa sit is hilly and lush. Really beautiful, especially compared the the nearby villages, such as Barra de Navidad (where we often ate dinners).
Overall, I would rate this home as excellent."
