INITIAL SUPPLIES - UPON ARRIVAL
Panhandle Getaways furnishes a few essential items for guests to utilize until they can get to the grocery store. Initial Supplies include: Dishwasher soap, small washing machine powder, each bathroom has amenities (like hotel but NOT restocked) shampoo, conditioner, soap bar. One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and one paper towel roll in the kitchen. All bed linens and towels are provided. We encourage guests to bring beach towels for use at the pool and beach.

Nice

Overall the condo was nice. It needed more cookware. The only negative was how far you had to walk down the beach to set your stuff up. It was ridiculous that 100 yards was completely empty but apparently private for the houses on the beach. I could understand if it was crowded and being used but there was not 1 person on the entire space!

Nice condo, beach access not available from boardwalk

The condo was very clean and decorated nicely. Community is safe, and nice with clean pool and tennis courts. The only negative was once you walk down a long boardwalk to the beach, you cannot set up, you have to walk another 10 min down the beach to the public access. The management needs to leave better info in the condo. There was a book on the turtles, but nothing with the wifi code, how to use the tv, where to rent chairs,(magnet on the fridge had info) codes for the pool. Explanation about taking the trolley (golfcart) to the public access beach, and where the bikes we rented would be. You had to call to get everything which was inconvenient. We couldnt find the parking passes until the day before we left, they were in the cabinet above the refrigerator. Our free bikes we reserved didn't arrive until late the day after we arrived, and we had to call several times to ask where they were, so we didn't get a full 2 days, luckily we didnt pay to rent more bikes. The person at the phone number to call to get the wifi code said they didnt have us as a guest, and they would have tech call us which didnt happen until the next day. Cell service is bad in that area, so we couldn't use our phones to find places to eat, directions, or anything untl we got the wifi code. I was able to text someone at the management office who was able to help with everything, but again, it would be much better to have it all in a binder so we could start enjoying our vaca as soon as we got there.

Great location and amenities

Great location and amenities. Needed to buy a swiffer bc the floors weren’t to our satisfaction but the condo was clean, organized and had a lot of the things you would need to cook. Glad it had a broom due to sand being tracked in. TVs in all bedrooms was a huge plus. Condo complex was great. Messaged the host a few times and they were very responsive in fixing any issues that arise. Biggest thing that is awesome about this property is the beach trolley. Make sure you take advantage of this. It will drive you to one of a few beaches in the area at no charge!! It was a life saver with three kids once we learned about it. Check in and out was super simple. We will be staying here again!

1023 Villa

Plenty of room for all 5 of our crew. Villa was very clean. enjoyed the pickelball court and the closeness to the beach. Got a quick response for a few questions from the group we made the reservation with. Beware that most of the property on the beach is marked PRIVATE property no trespassing to the water line. Was not an issue for us before busy season starts soon. Overall a great value for this location!

Great spot

We love coming down to this area in October. It was especially nice this year as the property was doing some exterior renovations so I think there were not as many guests as usual. There was a lot of constuction noise and activity during the day but it didn't really bother us as we were usually at the beach. The bike service was awesome. Looking forward to coming back next year

Trip to the beach.

everything was very good, but you should have better fibers to wash the dishes and the mop was not clean and there was not a bucket to use the mop. Besides they had told me that there would be two parking passes and there was only one, I had to call them and they told me that they would take it to me early on Monday and they didn't take it to me until I called them to ask them again because security left a warning on my car. But even with those details I really liked the place😉

Reasons for okay rating

The condo we stayed in at at Beachside Villas was just okay but it was decorated in “cute beachy decor.” The floors were not clean. The bottoms of our feet were dirty after walking around on the floors for only a short time, after we arrived and the condo had just been cleaned and inspected. We had to wear our shoes/flip flops around while walking on the floors for the rest of the week. That was gross! The baseboards were not clean and there was a lot of chipped paint on the wood ceiling in the bathroom. There was rust on the master bath toilet seat screws and and the plastic cover was missing on them or I wouldn’t have even noticed the rusty screws. I just kept the toilet seat up to not have to look at the yucky screws. There was also rust on the toilet paper roll holder and that is an easy fix but eye catching, like the rusty toilet screws. 2 of our adult children 23 and 27 shared the bunk room beds and said they were very squeaky/noisy, with very little movement. The mattress springs on the double bed bunk, could be felt in our son’s back. Neither mattress was comfortable. The balcony paint was bubbling up and didn’t look appealing. The bath tub drain in the master bath was slow to drain and I had to remove hair from it, for it to drain better. It was long dark hair and I have blonde hair, so it wasn’t mine and it was only the 2nd day. The condo was also sparsely furnished with glasses/cups and 1 of the 4 glasses, was broken with a large piece of glass missing from it and one of the other glasses had a crack in it. They were turned around in the cabinet and couldn’t be seen by just looking in the cabinet. We called Panhandle Getaways to let them know about the glasses. There was a good amount of towels and wash cloths. I really liked that! It was nice to be close to the beach and the pool. The pool was nice. When we went to the beach, we were told by 2 guys renting chairs and umbrellas, that we could only put our chairs down in a very small area because of the luxury homes next to us, owning that part of the beach. We quickly learned that we could sit anywhere, as long as we were in the high tide area, even though the water never came close to us. I would not stay in this condo again for this price. I think it was priced high for this particular condo.

Nice condo, small beach

The condo was clean and had a nice setup for our family. The pools were a very short walk. Pay attention to the map of the beach. The beach area that is close to the condo is VERY LIMITED!

Spring Break 2023

All good! Except that the last day of the stay we tried to work the DVD player (considering there was 3 of them) and could NOT get it to work no matter what we did. When we tried to get back to the TV… it was messed up also!! Maintenance came out quickly and had limited success. Love that you are Pet Friendly!! Great place…Hope to come back in the future!!

Nice getaway

We spent the last 8 nights at Beachside Villas and it’s a great location. Decent size condo and heated pool is a bonus. Microwave broke first day, no knives, no hot mitts, no baking sheet, Dirty dishes in the cupboard. Management brought replacements on day 3. Barb was so friendly, personable and really knows about customer service. We would book again.

Doesn't sleep 6 comfortably

We had a great stay! The only downside we had was sleeping arrangements. We had 6 adults and a child (under two). When booking, we thought the full size mattress under the bunk would work for two adults. We are small people so it shouldn't have been an issue. It was. The bunks (both top and bottom) were so loud that just moving our legs would cause us to wake up. The mattress was obviously older because it was very uncomfortable with springs digging. The "mattress" in the fold out couch was more of a pad so it was also uncomfortable. Besides that, the only other (small) complaint was how far everything was from the condo. You're about 3 miles from most stores and restaurants so you have to drive and try to find public parking. We rented bikes from 30A bike rentals right by the condo though so we just rode into town. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay! Definitely don't recommend using the bunks though. 🙃

Quiet family friendly area

The only negative thing have to say is our room was not very clean on arrival. The beach walk to the beach was not bad. We liked the area.

Parking permits and private beach passes

The stay was fantastic! The condo was gorgeous and comfy! My only issue was the parking permits and private beach access bracelets weren't left in the condo when we got there. We had to get the bracelets from the property manager on site so we could get on the Villas private beach. And the permits were brought to me the following day after I called about them.

As advertised

Condo was great with only a few minor problems. It took 2 days to get the parking passes but never saw anyone checking them. One problem was the beach. Everywhere you looked there were private beach signs. There was a transport to the beach available via a golf cart but it took you 2 blocks down the road to another beach. Never did figure that out. This needs to be explained better. Overall great area. All had fun.

Inaccurate Listing

There is no view of the beach. Have to walk about half mile down the road to get to private beach. There is a troll at the beach closest that tells people the beach is private. Does not sleep 9. There is a mattress topper being used as a mattress in the pullout couch. No one can sleep on bars. Several blinds were broken, curtain and rod broke and laying on the floor, ceiling fans caked with thick sticky dust, holes in closet wall. Not worth the money we paid. We pay less to stay at much nicer places. Very disappointed.

Not quite sure how to title it

When we arrived the door to the balcony was open. The couch wet I’m assuming from rain associated with hurricane delta. We tried to shut it but it was broken. No big deal move on...next morning the lovely children above is started running and jumping at 6 am and never stopped. They’d run mom would yell at them. Sounded like they were coming through our ceiling. This was our bright and early wake up call EVERYMORNING. No restful vacation. Then after a great day at the beach I washed a load of beach towels only to find a broken dryer. The rest of our trip I had to lay clothes and towels on the kitchen table to dry. Due to the broken door we caught a tree frog in the living room on the wall. We killed approximately 10 roaches or more. We made the property management aware and they were responsive; fixed the door, had a vendor come look at the dryer, they wanted to come another day to replace the dryer but after having to stay close for people to come we said please just wait to tend to all the issues after we leave. Nothing was going to ruin our vacay and we wouldn’t let it but this unit needs lots of love and repairs before the next family utilizes it. Panhandle reality did all they could and we realize it’s the owners responsibility to make sure these issues are taken care of.

Was a really nice place.

The place was awesome. The only mishap we had with the stay about 5 minutes after walking into the condo a light fell from the ceiling on to the dining room table. Maintanace came the next day and took care of it. Thankfully no one was injured. One problem I have with the listing is it says dog friendly. The condo is extremely dog friendly my only complaint is they fail to mention that the beach is not dog friendly. Only residents of panama can bring the dogs to the beach. Would have been amazing knowing that prior to booking.

Cute condo and great beach location

The condo itself was cute and everything reflected online. Beach access is really nice and easy. Stayed here on a weekend and in the evening it got really loud with the people upstairs. Running, stomping around, yelling at REALLY late hours. Our check in was HORRIBLE and although it says 4pm the cleaning crew didn't get to the condo until 4pm. Not that is it the owner's fault, but one of the cleaners was clearly intoxicated and screamed and cursed at us when we tried to check in at 4pm. Not a good start to our vacation. Again, not the owner's fault but they need to get a new company to handle this because this was hands down the worst check-in experience I have ever had.
