Ederline Estate Holiday Cottages

Clachandubh Cottage se encuentra en Ederline Estate, en un glorioso paisaje de West Highland, escondido en las colinas de Argyll, a poca distancia de la costa. Tenemos kayaks, botes de remos y bicicletas para alquilar, con pesca.

Aunque Clachandubh comenzó su vida en el siglo XIX como tres viviendas de pastores, ahora es nuestra segunda cabaña más grande con capacidad para 6 personas. Esta cabaña tradicional de piedra está situada junto a un viejo puente de piedra sobre Clachandubh Burn y tiene su propio jardín cerrado, cobertizo abierto, amplios espacios de estacionamiento y cobertizo de troncos bien abastecido.
Tiene dos habitaciones dobles y una habitación doble / super-king. Durmiendo seis.
Amplio baño familiar con ducha, lavabo y WC. También un baño en suite para la gran habitación doble / super-king con ducha, bañera, lavabo y WC.
Gran sala de estar / comedor con TV de pantalla plana / DVD, WiFi, estación de acoplamiento y gran chimenea abierta.
Todos los registros se proporcionan de forma gratuita, pero deben dividirse con el hacha proporcionada.
Cocina nueva totalmente equipada con nevera-congelador, lavavajillas, microondas y todo el equipo que pueda necesitar.

Family of 4, with 2 teenage girls.

Lovely 1 week stay. Weather was great and so much to do: kayaking on the loch, bike riding on the estate. Cottage lovely and has a great drying room for the wetter weather. Cottage clean and comfortable and plenty of space for the wet days.

Great stay!

Fantastic property that was ideal for our family. Nice living space and great bedrooms. Great walking around the estate and easy access to nearby attractions. Willa was very responsive.

A superb fishing/walking break with friends - beautiful cottage.

I’ve been coming to Ederline estate for more years than I can remember. Clachandubh provides a large and really well appointed /beautifully secluded cottage with plenty of garden space for the dogs. The fishing is excellent and you can kayak/Paddleboard on the Loch too. It’s a working farm area - so you need to bear that in mind with dogs etc. - but there are also lovely walks at nearby Lochgilphead plus all the stores/provisions you need. We walked along the Crinan canal and enjoyed beers/seafood at the Crinan hotel - then had a day out to Oban (enjoying the distillery and more seafood).. Wonderful place - will be booking again

Great place to unwind and check out Argyll area. Very comfortable farm setting - lots of sheep meandering right outside your kitchen window.

The perfect getaway!

A secluded pretty cottage in a beautiful location! Stunning estate with the freedom to roam with only sheep & wildlife for neighbours! Quiet and private with views that make it hard to leave the windows! Beautifully furnished with a huge inviting sitting room including a wood burner that adds to the cosiness! The cottage was thoughtfully decorated for our Christmas stay with kind Christmas touches including a card and treats for both humans and dogs alike ! We felt so welcome. The bed and linen was soo comfy - the best of sleep was had! We loved exploring the estate and can’t wait to return in the summer to see the estate during another season! Great House to get away from it all!

We had a great week at Clachandubh (despite the weather - well it was mid-November). It is a great base to tour Argyllshire and is in the middle of some very impressive archaeology. We had nice days out at Lochgilphead and Crinnan, which are both nearby. The house itself was well equipped, cosy and warm and sitting by the fire with a wee glass of something at night was a regular event. We were made most welcome by Willa and nothing was too much trouble. Had great fun keeping fit in the wood shed chopping firewood. What's not to ike!

Wonderful!!

This property is wonderfully appointed, spotlessly clean, and very peaceful. The cottage has plenty of space and everything needed for a comfortable stay. It is private and at the same time the hosts are on hand to help if needed. Willa and Angus made our stay incredibly pleasant, suggesting nearby things to see and do and renting rowboats and kayaks for us to use. The property has lots of interesting walks and ruins and there are many archaeological attractions nearby, which we loved. We took a day trip to Mull and Iona from the property and also explored Kilmartin's Temple Wood, Dunad Fort, went crabbing at Ardfern (with Angus's expert advice we were successful!), and spent a day in Crinan walking and watching the yachts. We had plenty of long walks around the property too and loved watching the sheep and cows. I highly recommend this cottage and hope to return someday! It was a truly relaxing getaway.

Ideal for a true Scottish experience!

Clachandubh Cottage was perfect. It was an idyllic setting in the Scottish countryside. Overall it had everything we needed for our stay. The washing machine was not in working order when we arrived but was replaced with a new one the day before we left. It was a bit of an inconvenience because we packed lighter thinking we could wash and dry our clothes. I’m not sure if a dryer will be installed and it takes 1-2 days to air dry clothes. So pack accordingly! We thoroughly enjoyed the scenery on the property and the various recommendations Willa and Angus kindly provided about the local area. It was a memorable stay and one we will cherish for years to come!

We were sorry that the washing machine decided to give up just before your stay. I did offer to do any washing or drying which I hope you took advantage of! We have now had a new Bosch washing machine and a separate Bosch tumble dryer fitted. Once again many apologies for the trouble it caused. It is not easy living out in remote areas to replace white goods quickly.....we tried our best!

Cottage is a delight

The cottage has loads of space we are a family of 6 and a dog.A wonderful living dining room for family time in the evenings with the log burner on.The garden is also a brilliant space to chill and listen to the wildlife or watch the stars in pure darkness Great walks around the estate watching the local wildlife.Great day trips out not to far from your cottage.Shops at Lochgoilhead with in easy distance to top your food and drink.

Clachandubh Cottage - wunderschönes geräumiges Ferienhaus mit sehr guter Ausstattung in toller Natur

Das Ferienhaus ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und verfügt über eine vollständig ausgestattete gemütliche Küche, drei Schlafzimmer mit großen Schränken und bequemen Betten, zwei schöne Bäder und eine große Wohnstube. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl gefühlt. Aus dem Stubenfenster konnten wir Rothirsche und Rehe beobachten. Die Vermieter (Willa und Angus) sind sehr freundlich. Unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Charming cottage in beautiful part of the world

Some friends and I stayed at Clachendubh cottage over new year and had a fantastic stay. The cottage is gorgeous, full of character and has everything you need. Willa and Petra were very helpful in the run up to and during our visit. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a rural retreat in stunning Argyll.

Another wonderful visit.

We expected the fantastic scenery and the eagles and the pine martens and red squirrels. What we had not expected is the depth and range of history on display in the area - from stone circles to secret wartime bases – or the number of excellent places to eat out (special mention for the Tayvallich Inn). The dog loves the beaches and lochs and the forest walks. There is always much more to do than we seem to be able to fit in. Which is why we keep coming back. That and the lovely quiet comfort of Clachandubh cottage. It is always bright, clean and full of the mod cons which help ease the strain of being away from home.

Spacious, comfortable and well-equipped

This was our first visit to Argyll and Clachandubh was a perfect location. The cottage was spacious, comfortable, clean and well-equipped. The location is beautifully quiet but central for day-trips to Oban, the Crinnan Canal and Inveraray. Our highlight was the drive to Campbeltown with magnificent views over Arran on the way down and Jura on the way back. We were surprised at the wealth of ancient monuments in the immediate area. Plenty of places to eat out but we enjoyed eating in, provisioned by the well-stocked Co-op in Lochgilphead, before settling down in front of the log fire. We would certainly stay again at Clachandubh.

STUNNING!!

We have stayed at Clachandubh four times, and it just seems to get better. Willa and Angus have fitted this place out impeccably - not only is the location simply stunning, but the house itself is difficult to beat. All needs are met, a home from home - the open fire is lovely if the weather is poor, but we have been fortunate recently to have the sun as a real bonus. So much to do in the area, walking, fishing, boating and the usual outdoor stuff, but also plenty of really great places to eat and drink. Can't wait to come back... The Cooke Family, Essex

Perfect stay at Ederline...

We've just returned from a week at Ederline in the Clachandubh cottage, which sleeps six in three bedrooms - we were a smaller group of 3 + one dog, but we chose this property for the layout, with boot room and kitchen that closes off fully, to confine the dog easily at night (which has been difficult in some open plan cottages we've had in the past). The estate is beautiful and you are immediately relaxed once you get in off the Ford road. With open fire, lots of space in the cottage lounge, two dining spaces and three good sized bedrooms, this was a great choice for us. One long corridor connects all the spaces (looks to have been three smaller cottages in the past?) which gives lots of room for shoes, hanging space for coats. There are lots of good walks/ bike rides around the estate, with only private estate vehicles, which means they're very quiet and safe for kids riding around. The estate has alot of wildlife (including deer) which you can spot on early morning/evening walks. Location is really well connected for travelling the area, visiting the nearby islands, etc. We'll definitely be back again - a week wasn't long enough to see everything! :)

Beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting

This year (2017) it was our second holiday in this cottage. We loved to come back again to enjoy the area and the cottage. There is a lot to see and do in the area. The interior of the cottage is very cozy. The cottage was very clean. We would recommend this cottage to our friends. The owners were very helpful. We would love to come back again and have another wonderful time.

Fabulous spacious cottage.

Beautiful cottage in lovely peaceful surroundings. The cottage was tastefully decorated and had a great log fire. A very well equipped kitchen and two lovely bathrooms. Ideal place for two families. The owners were very helpful and on hand to give advice on the local area. So much to explore and we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

Fabulous getaway

Accommodation was of highest standard and in a beautiful rural estate. Owners so relaxed and welcoming. Had a wonderful weekend with great walks. You won't be disappointed.

Clachandubh Cottage

The cottage was everything we hoped for: quiet, charming, spacious and very well appointed. An ideal base for exploring a region we had only ever passed through before – without ever travelling more than 20 miles we found good eating, wonderful walks and bird watching, fascinating history and lots of swimming for the dog (we are not that daft!). And being allowed to wander around the estate, even in the lambing season, meant we could find beauty and interest without always having to jump in the car. We enjoyed Clachandubh so much that we are already planning a longer return.

Simply outstanding

This was the third time we have stayed at Clachandubh, but the first since the refurb. This house has everything... Congratulations on the refurbishment, so thoughtfully carried out and beautiful inside, we loved it before but now cannot contemplate staying anywhere else. Facilities are second to none, a genuine home from home. The location is breathtaking - so much to do and so little time - OK, so we had a week of unbroken sunshine which in itself is amazing and helps everything - but even so, I just cannot recommend this place more. Sort of reluctant to do this as I would like Clachandubh to be a well kept secret, but Angus and Willa are fantastic hosts and do everything to make the stay that much nicer - so it's only fair I put the good word around. If you want a beautiful location, a superbly equipped and comfortable home (regardless of weather), stunning scenery in a beautiful part of the world, please book this house, you will not regret it.

All guests are free to explore on the estate and enjoy some good fishing and amazing wildlife. Dogs are most welcome and there are numerous walks from your door stop. We do hire out kayaks, rowing boats and paddle boards on Loch Ederline.
