The Viking is located at 23A Water St. in Historic Crow Head on Twillingate Island. 1 bedroom with full kitchen, living room and a 3 piece bath and most importantly a stunning view of Notre Dame Bay and its rugged coastline. If you love painting, photography, hiking, leisurely strolls along the beach or just sitting and gazing out at the mighty North Atlantic then you wonā€™t go away disappointed. A view of Salmon Rock never lets you leave without showing you its majestic side. From crystals dancing on the shining ocean with the possibility of spotting an iceberg or a whale to a sunset that will leave you breathless and then seduce you with crashing waves of the North Atlantic and then you can cap it off with a beverage and maybe if itā€™s the right time of the month a full moon shimmering its light across Long Beach. The possibilities are endless.
Settle in at the end of an adventurous day and have a restful night in The Viking Bedroom on a bed that far exceeds that of the Viking days. Dreams do come true!

Wonderful loft apartment looking out over the ocean! Great hiking trails right from this location. Host greeted us with key and tour of space. Spotless and beautifully decorated. Recommendations for restaurants appreciated. Very comfortable bed and full kitchen with all needed to prepare a meal. Highly recommend

The home was very beautifully decorated and the view was unmatched. The owners Mike and Ann went out of their way to insure your needs were taken care of. Everything from trail maps to a cheese plate were on site! It was a perfect place in a perfect location. We plan to revisit again soon!

The Viking is the perfect place to stay in Twillingate. Decorated so artistically, the apartment is just lovely. The ocean view and sea breezes are incredible. Ann & Mike are wonderful hosts. Their personal touches made our stay in Crow Head extra-special. I was sad to leave, but must come back to spend more time in this lovely place!

It is a lovely placeā€¦ close to Twillingate, but you can enjoy the view and charm of rural Newfoundland. Ann and Mike are excellent hosts and have put a lot of thought into making you feel comfortable and at home. Top drawer experience!!

The best Twillingate experience

Everything in this rental was perfect. No icebergs this time of year but the whales were breaching close to shore. The amenities where top shelf and beautifully decorated.

This property is located in peaceful, scenic Crow Head close to all Twillingate offers. The hosts are lovely people and very helpful. We slept so well and enjoyed the beautiful views, walks and beach. We would highly recommend The Viking.

Fantastic location in Crow Head very close to Twillingate town (3 km) but worlds away in a really good way- so beautiful right across from the beach, exceptional location and beautiful furnishings. Very welcoming host and her husband who live right next door. Would go back any time.

Ann and Mike provide a lovely apartment with stunning views (when itā€™s not raining ). They were available for whatever we needed and offered great advice for where to see what we wanted to see. We plan to stay with them on our next visit to Twillingate

We had a great stay at The Viking. Everything was as advertised. The home has everything you need. It is a great spot, right on the cove. We had one day that was rainy and cold, so we sat at the bar in front of the picture window with a drink and watched whales with the supplied binoculars. There aren't many places where you can stay inside and do that.Ann and Mike were excellent hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Best place in town

Very clean, well outfitted, just across road from bay, stayed 6 nights and it felt like home. Very quiet, no traffic or other human noise. Bay window was great place to watch icebergs and birds. We couldnā€™t have found a better place to stay. This was our second trip to Twillingate.

Just returned from a great stay at the Viking house in Twillingate Newfoundland. The property was exactly as advertised, clean and very comfortable for two people. We enjoyed seeing icebergs right from our living room window.Thank you Ann and Mike for your wonderful Newfoundland hospitality!

Seafront suite on iceberg alley

Small but well appointed second floor suite with incomparable views of icebergs floating by. Ann is skilled at decoration and the suite reflects her good taste. Mike is also friendly; he left us with mementos for our stay.

A Must Stay

"The Viking" is decorated and furnished to perfection with a beautiful view of the water. Mike and Ann are the perfect host/hostess. This was our favorite spot in Twillingate. Crow Head is a cute little village.

Gorgeous spot by the Sea

This beautifully decorated space sits right by the ocean, with a special spot to sit, enjoy a glass of wine and look out over the water as the whales swim by. Warm hosts and a wonderful town! Hope to visit again!

I was born and raised in Twillingate and moved to British Columbia in 1986. I lived in Vancouver and Gibsons on The Sunshine Coast. I met my husband in Vancouver and we married in 1994. We owned a home on The Sunshine Coast. Being a Newfoudlander and of course the old saying is that all Newfies want to return home.
This piece of property that The Viking Vacation home sits on has been in my family for 160 years. My husband and I also have a home on this property, We moved here in 2015, We have a French water dog (Barbet) named Karma who is super friendly and she loves to go to the beach. The weather is ever changing and we never tire of storm watching, beautiful sunsets, new challenge and new surprises from Mother Nature.
