About this property
Artist's House With A Breezy Balcony And Whirlpool Tub.
A two bedroom house, private, fully fenced in a safe neighbourhood. 5 minutes drive from Grand Anse beach, 10 minutes to St. Georges and 20 minutes walk to True Blue University. Beautifully decorated with breezy balcony, wooden deck with whirlpool and a view over nearby marina. Near to beaches and close to public transport and walking distance of restaurants and nightlife. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
Colibri is uniquely decorated with a Caribbean Baroque style and is really an indoor/outdoor living space. One can eat inside or al fresco and the same goes for bathing! We have a full two person whirlpool tub to relax in and even provide the bubbles.
Colibri has two large bedrooms with ACs and a spacious bathroom with wet room shower (I hate shower curtains!). The Living room has windows throughout and very high ceilings with a large ceiling fan. Open plan dining room leads to the kitchen which overlooks the deck with the open air whirlpool tub. The kitchen has all amenities and a top load washing machine. One steps out of the Living room on to the covered balcony which has modular seating and another dining table which can seat four. The garden is fully fenced with gated entry. We provide toiletries and household cleaning products and stock the fridge with breakfast items.
We leave a written guide to Grenada and include helpful phone numbers for guests. We are on hand for any problems or enquiries to help make the guest's stay as perfect as we can. We both love living in Grenada and want the world to feel the same way! Grenada has wonderful weather year round, with two seasons; the dry season and the rainy season. Obviously the dry season is a little hotter with endless sunny days and is when the tourism is at it's height. However, the rainy season is rarely a constant rain, more like a few intermittent cooling showers with prolonged rainfall lasting a day or two being less common. There are great flight deals during less peak times (peak being end of December through to Easter) and the weather is still tropically idyllic.
This neighbourhood is residential and very safe. We are on top of a rise overlooking the entrance to True Blue peninsula and Spice Isle Marina and the main road to Grand Anse. Nearby are a stretch of the nicest and most popular beaches in Grenada; from Grand Anse (Radisson, Coyaba, Spice Island and Mount Cinnamon hotels), then Morne Rouge (Gem and Kalinago hotels), Parc a boeuf (La Luna hotel), Magazine (The Rex and Maca Bana hotels) and then Pink Gin (Sandals La Source). All beaches in Grenada have a public access to them and ALL are open to the public by law. 450 yards from the house is the True Blue road to the University which has many restaurants, snack food outlets, a pharmacy and night club along it's way. There are some walking trails from Hill crest that wind along beaches with lovely views.
We are located just inside of the True Blue peninsula, which means you are situated between the airport, Grand Anse and St. Georges University campus. The house is a 450 yard walk to all the main bus routes or a cab can be called from the airport taxi rank to arrive in 5 minutes. We are situated on Hill Crest Drive, which links the only large road on the island, Maurice Bishop Highway with True Blue Road and is 10 minutes walk to Sugar Mill roundabout which links Lance aux Epines (residential and tourist area) with Grand Anse (main tourism and shopping area) with the east coast road to Westerhall (residential) and La Sagesse nature center.

About the host
Hosted by Rebecca Thompson

I am a British born artist living and working in Grenada for the last 27 years in the visual arts and hospitality field. I have dual citizenship and love the island of Grenada, which is my year round home and muse.
My partner and I love nature, horticulture and the environment. We love Grenada and wish to share it with travelers around the world, our small piece of paradise and we have put all our love and time into making Colibri an interesting, artistically stimulating and comfortable home.

Why they chose this property
Colibri was built by an elderly Swiss couple who had met late in life and were enjoying their winter romance. They built a cute little house on a hill and named it after the many hummingbirds that frequent the pretty garden.
We expanded the house and built a wooden verandah with outside whirlpool tub. Extended the kitchen to create a dining area in the old kitchen and built a studio apartment downstairs. We have filled the property with palm trees and orchids and enjoy iguana spotting in the trees flanking both sides of the house. Fireflies appear in the evening and there are often kestrels taking advantage of the thermals to rise over the valley below. The house has a good spirit; open and always breezy.

What makes this property unique
The house is located off the main roads in a quiet residential spot but commands a view over the nearby marina and the mountains beyond. It is handily situated between the peninsula of True Blue housing the University campus, restaurants and bars and the main road to the airport and to the two mile long Grand Anse beach and St. Georges after that.
Colibri is securely fenced and gated and has a park place inside the property. We provide a fully equipped house with all amenities and regularly upgraded.
