Denali Hideaway is located a half mile off of the Parks Highway, nestled in the small town of Healy, just 11 miles north of Denali National Park. Built by a talented local carpenter, this breathtaking, beautiful Alaskan home is an excellent retreat after a long day of adventuring in Alaska's Interior.

Our two bedroom, one bathroom residence is attached, yet private, with an entrance of its own. It comfortably sleeps four with a queen bed and two twin beds, full bath, living room with a mini-fridge, microwave and other small kitchen appliances to make your stay more enjoyable. The home's original owner and master craftsman took precise care in the building of the entire home - including crafting all of the home's ceilings, support beams and intricacies.

Located in Healy, there are a variety of restaurants, a local brewery, a small convenience store, a quaint local coffee shop, an Alaskan lake and many local trails. For more entertainment, restaurants and activities, simply drive 11 miles to just outside the entrance to Denali National Park. This bustling tourist hub, known to locals as "Glitter Gulch", is home to dozens of restaurants, nightly shows, several gift shops as well as your gateway to many more adventurous activities.

This was a great place for our family of four to stay in while exploring denali and the surrounding area. Just as described, easy to find and very comfortable. If we ever get back to Alaska we would definitely stay here again.

The space was amazing! It was a bit difficult to find but Kami help us out so graciously when we arrived pretty late in the evening. The beds were comfy and the shower was great! I may have missed this but there is a water dispenser in the place as well, which was very helpful for our trips to Denali. Be sure to sign and read recommendations from her guest book. It was very amazing to read about the other guests’ experiences.

Wonderful home base for visiting Denali. We visited with a trip for my son with his grandpa, and I got to accompany, and the space was great. We enjoyed visiting Denali National Park and the adventures we had in the area. It was great to have a nice parking spot and the privacy in the evenings!

20 minute drive to get to the visitor center. A very cute and clean two bedroom one bathroom apartment. Only microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and toaster. No stove. Finding, Check in and getting into the apartment was easy. Kami is very responsive.

Positives: Great location, clean, comfortable, great communication,easy access. Cons: There are no toiletries ie: soap, shampoo. They had coffee and tea but no real place to was the coffee cups. Had to wash in the bathroom sink with no soap. Overall a great stay and would recommend just bring your own shampoo and shower soap.

I think the number of stairs leading up to the space need to be mentioned. That was a lot for us pulling suitcases up and down.The space was very clean and well stocked for guests. Remember- there is NO kitchen!!In my opinion, the beds needed either mattress toppers or softer mattresses. Couches were very comfortable.

We had a lovely visit to Denali, and this apartment is just ten minutes from the park entrance. We appreciated having coffee pods waiting for us, and the place met our needs perfectly. Great directions - note it is a short distance down a dirt road so drive carefully!

Fantastic stay. Great spot right next to walking trail and easy distance to the Stampede Trail and Denali. Hosts very helpful. And bonus Northern Lights viewing from the bedroom window and driveway!

An absolute gem of a stay - frankly I don't think the pictures did it justice. The host was extremely helpful, with numerous touches in the living spaces that made it very useful. There is no full kitchen (as we knew), but the apartment was kitted out in a way that made eating there very easy. The living room area is great, and the blackout curtains were great and very needed! This was a great value and in a great location to take in Denali National Park. Would highly recommend to anyone - especially for a family of 4 like ours.

Place was nice with plenty of space for a family of four. No kitchen (pictures show that) but did have plastic silverware, plates and paper towels for snack needs which we appreciated. About 20 minutes from Denali NP.

This home is owned by Dakota and Kami MacIver. They are both lifelong Alaskans & high school sweethearts who settled down in their hometown to raise a family of their own. Our growing family enjoys many of Alaska's abundant resources such as: fishing in south central Alaska, subsistence hunting and gathering berries in the fall, and managing a trapline in the winter. We also enjoy camping, taking out our ATV, and coaching youth hockey in the winter. We are also active members of our local church and enjoy volunteering there too.

This property is perfect for staying with families. With one bedroom for parents, and another bedroom for kids, there's still room to play in the living area!
