It is up a steep, curving road but also has a nice view from deck. Kitchen well equipped. No body soap for shower just hand pump soap at sink. No shampoo. There were two couples and only one hair dryer. All of that was an easy fix but the cleaning crew needs to step up their game. Dirty walls, sliding glass door was a mess and the dust and spider webs were awful. In the closet they just threw covers onshelf and floor. Cleaning crew did not lock down the garbage container and the bears got into it. Our first job when we got there was to clean up a BIG mess on the driveway.

We had a wonderful time at Misty Mountain Chalet! It was just as advertised, and it was in a very quiet neighborhood; it was so relaxing. We saw a mama bear and two cubs, but unfortunately did not get pictures. The roads to the chalet are a little scary, but it was totally worth it! The Mountain View is beautiful, and we saw several lovely sunrises. We used the game room and had a good time. A highlight was that we were not far from Ober Mountain, and we drove there, then rode the Tram down to Gatlinburg for the day, then back up at night. You can see the tram going back and forth from the upper deck of the chalet. The host, Lana, is easy to communicate with when needed. I would be very happy to stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Great location and views. host was easy to communicate with and work with . definitely stay here again when in was in the area I really love the kitchen it is everything you could need.

The chalet was very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked for cooking. We had plenty of room to park and the hot tub was very nice after a busy day. We saw bears almost every day driving to the chalet, including one peeking around our propane tank. The views were so wonderful, we set our alarms in the morning so we could watch the sunrise!

Great location for a Gatlinburg stay

The house worked out great for our family with 3 teenager boys. Two king beds were very nice. The location is excellent, at the entrance of the Smoky Mountains. The view of town from the hot tub was special. Exiting the town after the July 4th midnight parade was a breeze because we parked at the end of town. We even spent an afternoon at the community pool. Fully stocked kitchen and beautiful sunrise views too!

Peaceful getaway yet close to all the activities

The house has a beautiful location with great mountain views. My kids loved the pool table, darts and the hot tub. The host was very responsive. We had an issue with the code to get in and she immediately responded and solved the problem. The drive up is steep so you need to be comfortable with driving on narrow mountain roads. Overall a fabulous place to stay!

We had a great stay. We were greeted by a mama bear and her three cubs when we arrived. The rooms were very spacious and the kitchen was well appointed with anything we could possibly need. The sunrise view was spectacular. My brother very much appreciated the Lord of the Rings decor.

Fabulous place to stay!!!

We had a wonderful time. The view from the chalet was spectacular!! The first three days we saw bears. The third day we saw a Mom & her three cubs!! It was definitely the best place to stay all the way around. Lana was a wonderful host!! We will be returning.

Great Trip, highly recommended

I've been booking with VRBO for years and this was one of the best experiences I've had. It was clean, well furnished, and well stocked. The hosts were very garcious and checked in with me during the trip. Listing was very accurate. It was easy enough to get to the house during the springtime. It was super close to everything touristy. It did rain a good bit, but the house had great internet with the smart TVs. Rental definitely looks a bit bigger in the pictures, but if its just a few people, its the perfect size! Highly recommended. Hope to return when I'm in Gatlinburg again.

Anniversary trip!

Amazing Chalet!!

Our stay at The Misty Mountain Chalet was a dream!! Hands down the most well stocked vacation home we’ve ever stayed at. The beds are comfy, the hot tub was clean, the view is incredible and we will definitely be back!

We decided to get married after being together for 6 years and couldn't think of a better place than the mountains of Gatlinburg. We have frequented Gatlinburg several times a year during our time together and got married in a Cabin in the mountains. After this life changing event, we decided we had to have a Chalet we could enjoy with our family and for ourselves. Where we could share our experiences with others that wanted this same wonderful experience. Since we have rented several cabins in the area in the past, we incorporated many amenities in our property that we looked for when we rented properties in the past. We purchased Blue Mountain Cottage that was lost to the 2016 fires. We missed the mountains so much we purchased Misty Mountains Chalet in spring 2017. Joe is a Lord of the Rings fan therefore the reasoning for the theme.
