The accomodations were very clean, roomy, calm and relaxing. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in away from home. I felt safe and the location was central to the locations we visited.
The guesthouse was beautiful and spacious, I enjoyed the pool table, and it was convenient to cook in the kitchen. The yard was huge, and beautifully maintained. The host was friendly and helpful. Definitely would stay again if available and traveling in the area again. Five Stars across the board.
This was a very nice place to land for a few days. Very clean and all basic amenities provided. Close to all major shopping etc but off the beaten path in beautiful area. Communication w owner was easy and timely and found them flexible to our needs.
We found the guest house very clean and comfortable. Olga thought of everything we could possibly need. Great location near the Fair Oaks Village, restaurants and the American River. It was very quiet in their large backyard. The only downside to the whole experience is that my wife beat me playing pool…several times.
The property is amazing….nice area for walking; walked down to the river. Close to shopping and restaurants, ate at Mikuna Sushi, which is very close (excellent meal and service) but far enough away; you are in an upscale country area.
We weren’t at the property much as we had a specific reason and short timeline for the trip, however the grounds are wonderful and had we had the time we would have taken advantage of the yard.
The Village of Fair Oaks is minutes from the property.
We enjoyed our stay but there is room for improvement. The photos lead you to believe the guest house is some distance from the main house - it’s not. There isn’t a comfortable chair anywhere in the home and you are greeted with numerous signs telling you what not to do. The overall effect is - please don’t get too comfortable here.
The pool table was fun - and Olga’s communication about getting in and out was very clear.
My first issue was that I had to reach out to the owner twice to get the code to enter the property. She didn’t share it with me until about 40 mins before check in. When I had initially booked this stay it said that there were 3 bedrooms. When I arrived there was only one bedroom. I went back into VRBO to see that the listing was changed with different pictures. There was a room within our rented space that was locked that seemed like a second bedroom. And there was another door down the walkway that I thought was a bedroom but it was the owners office. I was happy with the coffee they had but we ran out of sugar the 2nd day. The owner said that there was a food cabinet stocked for us to help ourselves. In that pantry were bags of dry beans, a can of Spaghettios, a can of beans and ramen noodles. I never expected to be given food but those choices were very strange. The backyard was nice but the patio furniture was dirty, there were chickens and a rooster that were a surprise. We sat outside and ate our breakfast while the owners sat in their dining room looking out their window at us. It was very uncomfortable.
This was our third time staying here. Our son requested to go back to the "house playground" for his 5th birthday. He told us the chickens missed him, so we needed to go back! A special thank you to Olga who had a birthday present for him.
The property is cute and serves its purpose. For the cost per night at the time I booked I would have like to see more attention to detail in the house and a few noteworthy mentions when booking. I checked in at 5pm and the house was not cleaned from the previous renters. Dirty sheets, towels, garbages etc. This was a big deal to us, however the host answered my call immediately and arrived with a total of 3 people to make fast work of the cleaning. The shower runs at an extremely high pitch and there doesn’t seem to be a way to relieve it. It’s not relaxing. The tv remote in the bedroom didn’t work at first and we had to get batteries. The mattress in the bedroom is SO caved in it was very hard to sleep comfortably. The pillows were uncomfortable as well. There was landscape and lawn service in full force at 9am Saturday morning. While it’s not within technical quiet hours it would have been courteous to mention as it will definitely disrupt your restful morning. Nice neighborhood. Property felt safe and it was quiet other than the lawn service.
The property was as advertised but parking was limited. For the Cost and responsibilities of doing the dishes and everything I will find another location next time.
