My husband and I were not able to go away because of covid so it was daughter her boyfriend and her neice. They rated the accommodation and location highly. Really disappointed we missed it

Ok
The property was in general ok . The kitchen needs work doing as the cupboard doors are hanging off and the floor is not in a great shape. The rest is just ok but needs a re-fresh. The local pub was nice if not a little pricey with a glass of wine 12.50 the food was again ok …..

Not good value for money
Property was smaller than we had realised from the photos, perhaps a floor plan would be better. When we arrived the carpet leading from the door straight into a lounge was wet as if it had been washed and took 2 days to dry out, we had to walk over it to get to the kitchen. The outside was particularly small and was not secure for dogs. The property is mid-terrace and located along a busy pathway opposite an entrance to a building site/garden with pool. Unfortunately, the children running from one of the cottages to the pool were very loud so sitting outside was not enjoyable. The area is beautiful, the beach on foot was 20 mins away and surprisingly the pub opposite was busy but at no time were we disturbed. We would go back to the area but we would not be booking the cottage again.

Hello Ashley,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We've passed on your feedback to the owner in which they responded with the following:
"Hello.
I have noted your comments.
Regarding the wet living room carpet. Our cleaner must have found it soiled by the previous guests and cleaned it. If it was left then we would have received complaints.
Driftwood cottage is a small 17-century fisherman's cottage which is clear from the photographs.
As for the loud children. Sorry, but we have no control over guests at other properties.
We have fitted a fence up to the hedge in the rear yard garden so it is as dog-proof as possible.
Regards, The management."

Easily arranged. Unexpected complimentary bottle of wine waiting on our arrival. 15 minutes walk to Holme beach - dogs loved the beach and local walking. Cottage was cosy and comfortable. Located opposite a pub serving food. Holkham beach and Wells both worth the visit (approx 30 minutes drive)
Weather was rather cool but still a fantastic couple or three days away..
