Our family of five had a great stay at the mill, we loved the building at the quiet and peaceful location. The rooms and beds are cozy, and we enjoyed the fireplace in the spacious living room. We would love to come back!
We had a fantastic stay. The property is very spacious and airy due to the lovely Mill conversation. One of the most peaceful places we've stayed, just gloriously tranquil; an ideal place to unwind.

Thanks for your lovely review. We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay and you are welcome back anytime.
The cottage was quite interesting and quite reasonable, being an old mill and the location was good. So pretty good but probably wouldn’t stay there again though.Steps down to lower level were very steep and having to go up and down regularly to access only toilet on lower level was less than ideal. Felt a bit cut off from the outside by the small windows. Shower over bath is not as good as having a walk in shower.
We very much enjoyed our week at Lintmill and would have been happy to stay for longer. Such a characterful cottage. All very clean and comfortable - lovely to come ‘home’ to every day. The kitchen is well equipped with all that you could need. A plentiful supply of dry wood for the log burner was very much appreciated for cosy evenings. The bedroom we used was lovely with a very comfortable bed and pillows. Not a complaint, but the only thing that we think could maybe be improved upon is the bathroom. We were very lucky with the weather for the time of year and were able, sometimes, to open the patio doors and sit outside in the sunshine with a glass of wine late afternoon. The general ambiance of the place is lovely and we would definitely like to visit again some day.
Sehr schöner und ruhiger Aufenthalt. Das Haus ist super mit allem ausgestattet. Jede Menge Putzmittel.
Very comfortable conversion of old watermill set in rural location about 1.5 miles from attractive Portsoy. Spacious.Quiet. But has internal stair which may not suit some.
I am an Architect and recently retired from practice. My wife and I have had the Mill for just under 40 years during which time it has been a host to many visitors. We are based in Glasgow but we try to get up as often as we can, our children have grown up with many special holidays at the Mill.
Why they chose this property
In 1985 just after I finished my final year studying architecture I moved to Cullen and spotted the Mill, it was a complete ruin. I took ownership in 1986, the refurbishment and conversion work stated in 1987 and in the summer of 1988 the first guests arrived.
The Moray Firth coastline is beautiful with so many interesting fishing villages to visit, the people are welcoming and friendly its always a pleasure to return.
What makes this property unique
The Mill was originally constructed in 1752 as a Lintmill. it operated until the mid 19th century and then fell into ruin. The refurbishment in 1987 has given the building a new purpose and with a contemporary interior. Located near Portsoy the Mill has a large private garden full of wildlife.
