We adore the community of Pinehurst. It is well known as the home of American Golf and has hosted both the men's and ladies US Open in 2014. But in addition to golf the Pinehurst Resort and Country Club offers world-class tennis facilities, three championship croquet courts, lawn bowling and a four diamond rated spa. The Pinehurst Harness track, host to equine activities ranging from dressage to jumping shows, is also the winter training ground for trotters. Conceived in the 1890's as a winter resort, the village maintains the New England charm that inspired it. It is a walkable village designed by famed central park landscape architect Frederick Olmstead. Walking distance from our home the village features boutiques, casual dining including two pubs and a village green for walking pets and hosting arts and musical festivals. The nearby villages of Southern Pines and Aberdeen offer other shopping and fine dining.
Day trip excursions of interest include: NC Zoo in Asheboro, Uwharrie National Forest, Airborne and Special Operations Museum and the ancestral home to NASCAR.
