We stayed for 9 weeks at Casa Chillout and it truly did begin to feel like home. The house has everything you need and feels very homely and welcoming and the view overlooking the mountains is just beautiful and something I really miss!
The urbanisation is lovely, it’s nice and quiet yet everyone is friendly and the huge communal pool is a big perk, our kids loved it. You’re within a 10 minute walk of a handful of bars and restaurants and two playgrounds. Walking fully into town is a 15-20 minute walk downhill, the bus runs quite frequently and very handy if you don’t want to walk back home uphill, though we quickly got used to the walk and even our 3 year old was happy doing it.
If you have a car Burriana beach is less than 5 minutes away and is a really great beach for kids - huge and dotted with playgrounds.
Nerja is just a fantastic place to stay, it has everything you could possibly want, and you’re also within easy reach of Malaga and Granada.
Both Julie and Lisa are fantastic, excellent communications and so friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have had a better stay!!
It's a great big 5 stars from us. Our only regret is that we didn't book for longer, but we will be back! The house has excellent reviews, but the latest one was a little off putting but there's always one. So glad we didn't let it put us off. The pictures on the website clearly show the house, and if anything it looks even better than the photos.
Fantastic roomy house, clean well equipped kitchen. integrated fridge and a large fridge freezer in the utility room, along with the washing machine. All good for a long stay. Really nice comfy beds, big comfy sofa and great wifi. Beautiful views over the valley/farmland from the terrace and main bedroom. Also a patio at the back with barbeque, so lots of chilling out space.
Easy walk downhill into the centre of beautiful Nerja. We did walk back but Lisa said a taxi is only 7€. Lovely swimming pool just 2 mins from the house as is the car park ( By the way, we found the house VERY easy to find with the clear instructions we were given). There's also a little corner shop less than 5 mins walk away, and 2 big supermarkets close by.
Lisa and Simon, who manage the property, couldn't have been more helpful during our stay. We are already in touch with Julie to organise a much longer stay in this fabulous house. Cannot wait to return!

Good size property but tricky to find, especially in the dark as instructions were wrong. It's a long uphill walk from the beach and town especially in the heat. 6th bed not made up so had to contact the management company who brought the bedding but didn't offer to make it! Bed was also very uncomfortable. Stayed for 10 days but there was no offer to change the beds or towels and when I asked for clean towels after nearly a week we got no response, although they delivered them while we were out, without any communication. The property needs updating and upgrading, particularly the kitchen and bathrooms. The toilet upstairs stopped working, although it was fixed promptly, and the shower cubicle downstairs leaks, fridge doesn't close properly, tap outside leaks too, however, when I mentioned one of these issues to the owner, she was very dismissive and disinterested to the point of rudeness, especially when I had the audacity to ask about toilet rolls, so don't bother. The pool is a 5 minute walk away, as is the car park, and we struggled to park a few times. One of the 2 pools were closed, and has been closed for a while by the look of it. There was no shade by the pool either, so have to take your own umbrellas, loungers etc. The urbanisation is pretty, the restaurant is good, but only open for 2 hours a day! The buses are irregular and unreliable so need a car. Checkout time wrong on listing and mgmt comp charge for beach towels, early/late check-in/out and luggage storage

This is by far the worst review I have had in years but I hasten to add that the review I left you is definitely the worse review I have ever left any of my guests. Vbro’s policy is that before hosts can see guest reviews they must review the guest. They then ask the question ‘Would you welcome this guest back? ‘The immediate answer was, NO, without hesitation a big NO. This is a first for me. Many of our guests return year after year and I am thankful you will not be one of them.
Your comments are either untrue or exaggerated.
Your complete lack or respect for the environment is astounding. When the change of towels was left for you ( as you failed to follow instructions to leave them outside as agreed) it was found that every aircon unit in the house was left on the coldest setting even though you were not in the property. Disregard for house rules and basic courtesy. The arrival directions for all our guests are clear and precise and never do guests find our place hard to find. Your inability to follow instructions again is unique.
The pictures, location, description show exactly every detail of our house so guests know exactly what they are booking before they arrive. It is clean and well cared for. We spend many of ‘our holidays’ maintaining and renewing our much loved house so that our lovely guests can enjoy their holidays.
I am pleased to say that the vast majority of our visitors are nice people and appreciate our beautiful home as can be seen by our wonderful reviews.
We have just returned from a fabulous Jan/Feb twelve night holiday at Casa Chillout. The villa is set in a perfect spot on a lovely urbanization , with the most fabulous views from the master bedroom and front terrace across open countryside and the Almijara mountains. The whole booking process and communication with the owner Julie and her representative Lisa in Nerja, has been an absolute pleasure. Julie and Lisa both respond immediately to any queries you might have and are extremely helpful. The villa itself is really lovely and has everything that you could possibly need. From the TV and fast internet, to the dishwasher and washing machine. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything that you need to cook a full meal, which we did on a couple of evenings. The evenings in January are a bit chilly in January, but the air conditioning system quickly warmed the living room when we needed it.
Nerja itself is a lovely place to stay and Casa Chillout is only a gentle 25 minute walk away with lots of fabulous restaurants and bars. Obviously in January it’s a lot quieter than it would be at other times of the year, but nevertheless there was still lots of atmosphere and in fact we had to wait for a table to come available on a couple of occasions. We would highly recommend a restaurant called , Papalo the service was excellent and the food superb. Other places we enjoyed were a Nepalese restaurant called Namaste and Bamboo which as well serving lovely food is a great place to sit and watch the fabulous sunset over a glass of wine. We hired a car for our stay, but we didn’t really use it that much as we were really lucky with the weather and so we spent quite a few days on the beaches rather than sat in the car travelling. Burriana beach is just a twenty minute stroll down from the villa and has a lovely sandy beach with reasonably priced sun beds at this time of year. There are changing facilities, toilets and plenty of bars to get a bit of lunch. If you fancy getting an all over tan, then Playa Cantarrijan is an official naturist beach just a twenty minute drive away along the N-340 towards Motrils. It’s a really lovely sand and pebble beach set in a fabulous location with two nice bars on the beach, although only one was open when we visited. We did have a couple of days out though, Frigiliana is just a short drive away and is a lovely place to visit and the Caves of Nerja are a must!
So all in all a perfect holiday 😊

Ahh Tim. Great big thank you for such a fabulous review. It couldn’t have been better if I’d written it myself.
Your party were the perfect guests, really hope you will stay with us again. Thank you.
We had a lovely 10 night stay (2 adults and 3 kids - 2, 6 and 8) in Casa Chillout. Communication/check-in etc was excellent, and the driving directions were perfect.
The house is great with all mod-cons, and the pool was very well maintained and clean, and usually quiet.
The nearby beach (Burriana) was only a 20 minute stroll down the hill was busy but very pleasant and there seemed to be a number of decent dining options down there (we all loved the Steakhouse, lovely food and child friendly!).
The town was lovely but was a good 30minute walk away so we felt having a car was useful, as. the buses were infrequent and some taxi drivers insisted on us taking 2 taxis- for 5 people- even though our youngest 2 can both sit on adults' laps.
We had a great day out at the nearby Aquavelis park (25minute drive away) too.
Overall great holiday, and great location.

So Glad you loved the house and the pool. It is one of the best in Nerja and has won awards apparently.
We don’t have a car and manage well. A nice stroll downhill into town ( perhaps with a sneaky vino on the way at one of the many tapas bars enroute) If it’s not too hot we walk back or get the hourly bus back for a Euro. This runs regularly till midnight in the summer months. The taxis operate under the same safety rules as the UK and so will only carry 4 people. Better safe than sorry I suppose. Thanks so much for taking the the time to write such a lovely review. Hope to see you again in the future.
We had a wonderful stay in Nerja at Julie’s place!
The house fit us perfectly and was well equipped!
Julie met all our needs and was a perfect host! In Nerja we had great contact with Lisa who helped us with beach towels and such!
I warmly recommend this place!

Great house for a relaxing stay
Fab house- everything you need here. Great views & away from the madding crowds. Lovely having 3 areas to sit or dine. Great watching the farmers/horses in the valley below. Loved being able to watch some World Cup games on the TV too! Internet great speed (for the teenagers) Complex is very well kept & having a pool to hand a great bonus. Lisa & Simon were on hand for all our needs & we even got a weekly shop delivered!
Don’t forget the market just outside on Tuesday’s- well worth a scout around.
We walked into town most evenings (about 15 min walk downhill) There is also a circular bus for 1 Euro. Taxi back around €7 but walked it a few times back too (may be too much in July/Aug)
Try a Tapas run - look up Tapas run 2 on www.nerjatoday.com look out for Bar La Puntilla serving excellent fish tapas with wine for under €2.
The Rio Chillar walk is not to be missed- don’t forget your trainers & water!
Also a trip to Frigiliana & a massage on one of Nerja’s beautiful beaches should be on the to do list.
All in all - Casa Chillar is a home from home base for a memorable holiday in such a beautiful area.

A very relaxing week
We have recently returned from spending a lovely week at Casa Chillout. Very aptly named. The villa was clean and well furnished and in a very quiet spot (some background car noise from the distant bridge, but nothing to worry about).
The kitchen was very well equipped and the addition of the fridge freezer and washing machine in the utility room an added bonus. We ate out most evenings, but would have easily been able to prepare a meal.
The bedrooms were comfortable with plenty of storage space and hangers.
There was always plenty of hot water for four of us to shower and the fact that there are two bathrooms was perfect , as we had our daughters staying with us!
We walked down into town most nights but picked up a taxi home from the taxi rank. We did call a taxi to go out one evening and followed the instructions in the villa. It arrived within minutes and picked us up at the entrance to the urbanisation. We enjoyed all the tapas bars and restaurants we visited.
I loved watching the activity in the farm below along with the horses. We actually watched a field being ploughed the old fashioned way with oxen pulling the plough. Quite a sight to watch over breakfast.
All in all we enjoyed a very relaxing week which passed far too quickly. If we were staying in Nerja again we would certainly consider staying at Casa Chillout.

Oh dearie me. Only 1 star! All my previous reviews are 4 stars or 5!! What went wrong?
All I can say is that I wish you had contacted me during your 2 week stay to give me the opportunity to rectify any problems you had. I always do my best to see that guests have a lovely holiday in Casa Chill Out, hence my very high ratings. I'm a great host but not a mind reader ;)
There is heating in for the form of hot/cold AC and an additional plug in radiator for any particularly cold spells. The house is perhaps a 2 min walk to the parking area on a path through the gardens. This is fine for most people, and I would expect guests with mobility problems to ask about suitability.
The key is left in a key safe by the front door so there is no need to be met with keys on arrival. There is a book in the house explaining everything, including where the appliance instruction books are. It also contains a contact number for guests to use should they need any assistance during their stay. As you never got in touch I'll never know what problems you experienced with the electricity, but subsequent guests haven't reported anything amiss so it has obviously righted itself.
The comment about taking the house contents on departure is a strange one! I don't think this would enter the heads of most people, and I never sit worrying that our guests would take our things.
If you had mentioned the bulbs in the emails we exchanged after your departure I would have gladly refunded you. I would have knocked it off the wifi payment you sent me by bank transfer after you failed to leave it in the house at the end of your stay as agreed. Better still, if you had phoned the contact number while you were here we could have arranged for bulbs to be brought to the house for you.
A quick phone call or email could have sorted out all these issues. I feel very sad that you spent a fortnight not enjoying Casa Chill Out but not mentioning it, especially as it was over Christmas and New Year, which should be happy times.

Wonderful, relaxed holiday
We stayed in this property for 2 weeks with my two daughters of 17 and 19. We had such a relaxing time and did not want to come home! The property was just as described. The lovely courtyard at the front was big enough for us all to sit out. The whole area around us was very calm and peaceful. We had everything that we needed in the villa. The pool was a very short walk away and the local shop was very well stocked.
We loved Nerja. The old town felt very Spanish. Lots of lovely places to eat and drink too.
Simon was very helpful and a great taxi service was given ! Thanks to Julie also who has always responded very promptly to all e mails..
We would love to return at some time in the future.
Thanks for a fantastic holiday!

Fantastic house in beautiful surroundings
The house is perfect. It's clean, spacious & has everything you need. The front terrace has amazing mountain views & we ate lunch out there every day. It's so peaceful & the house lives up to its Chillout name.
The air conditioning is a godsend especially has we had very hot weather the first week. There is a well stocked supermarket nearby which we found very cheap compared to Ireland & a bar even closer to the house (Genesis) where you can have a drink in the evening & order a cab into town if you don't fancy walking. It's €7 for all trips. The pools are a few minutes walk away & they are great. One for kids which is large & a perfect depth. Both pools are spotlessly clean. There is a shaded area a few steps up from the pool but no sun loungers although Julie kindly allowed us to take the ones from the house. We walked to Burriana beach once but it is a very stony & uncomfortable beach & we were a bit disappointed. There are loads of lovely restaurants along Burriana so that made up for it! We walked to El Salon beach one night (to the right of the Balcon) & it's smaller with very cute cottages dotted around. We will explore the beaches better next time. I believe Torrecilla is better for children.
The house is good 20 - 25 mins walk into the old town (especially with kids), but there are lots of bars/restaurants on the walk down once you get on to the Main Street (about 10 mins in). A taxi back is recommended as part of it is uphill.
Simon & Lisa were great - we were picked up at the airport & dropped off when going home - perfect as we didn't know where we were going & also cheaper than getting a taxi. Any questions we had were also answered promptly by Julie or Lisa & the shopping service was a fantastic bonus!
I would definitely recommend Casa Chillout for a relaxing holiday - it's a home from home & the photos & description are 100% accurate (I'm very fussy!). The gardens surrounding the house are absolutely beautiful & lovingly maintained. Nerja is a wonderful place with so many great restaurants & bars. The atmosphere is fantastic & we will definitely be back!

First class base for a relaxing holiday
We hardly ever return to the same place, but enjoyed ourselves so much last year, we just had to go back! Such a relaxing holiday, with lovely beach nearby, an interesting town in walking distance and so many lovely bars on the Tapas Trails! The Casa Chillout is so well equipped and comfortable, with excellent backup if there are any queries. Thoroughly recommended (as long as you don't book it when we want it again next year!)

Home from Home
We stayed for 11 nights at Casa Chill out and had a wonderfully relaxing time. The villa is located in a semi residential area and is only a stroll away from the heart of the town of Nerja and the Balcon de Europa. It was so comfortable at the Casa that we often did not venture further than the terrace until the late afternoon when we would walk into town for some tapas or ice cream (or both)
Julie was very helpful from the moment we first made contact and responded to queries very quickly. We had never been to Spain before and her information about where to shop etc was invaluable.
Our favourite place for Tapas was the Round Bar and for a truly authentic Spanish tapas and restaurant we would recommend Meson La Posada Iberico on Calle Nueva, we were fast becoming regulars. The Urbanisacion has a bar called the Genesis which is good for a beer and even Sunday roast dinner especially when you don't feel like walking too far. Every Sunday there is a wonderfully eclectic market held nearby and on a Wednesday a large fresh produce market. We'll need to book hold luggage for the next trip :)
We flew into Malaga airport and chose to stay in a hotel near to the airport due to the lateness of the hour. This was not entirely necessary as we discovered later because the Casa was only a 50 minute drive away (late at night or very early in the morning). We would therefore recommend heading straight for your home from home if you're hiring a car as the roads are excellent and Julie's instructions make it easy to find the Casa even in the dark.

Perfect Retreat
Literally just got back from a perfect ten days at the Chill Out.It was even better than shown in the pictures. It has everything anybody would want for a stay with every amenity and perfect area and surroundings. It is spotless inside and out and has fabulous views. Sunshine on patio in afternoon until sunset to enjoy the country side and hills opposite. Bus runs into town every hour if you don,t fancy the twenty minute walk downhill.Plenty of taxis to bring you back after a good night out in the many good bars and restaurants .The friendly family will help you with any problems you might have with anything.Would recommend the property to anyone wanting a great holiday.

Casa chill out had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing 10 day holiday in Nerja. All communication with Julie was easy and prompt especially the return of our deposit. Simon and Lisa are also great contacts while in Nerja and were able to help us out when my mum had an accident. I would definitely recommend hiring the beach towels which saved a lot of bother and weight in our suitcases! Our two young sons especially enjoyed the pool just a short walk from the villa which was never too busy. They also found the satellite tv (and the pack of playing cards) useful when taking a break from the sun as it was very hot. We did not have use of a hire car but did not find this a problem as the walk back from town was very pleasant after something to eat and a few drinks. There are also always plenty of taxis around and most journeys seem to cost 7 euros wherever you're going in Nerja. We all really enjoyed following the various tapas trails and were spoilt for choice with so many lovely places to eat. The nearby Coivran supermarket is very reasonable, convenient and well stocked. All in all casa chill out was an ideal base for our first trip to Nerja and we will definitely be back.

Lived up to its name !
Just back having spent 8 wonderful days in Julie's lovely casa. From her initial friendly response to our enquiry to ensuring we got our security deposit refunded Julie has been so pleasant to deal with. The photos and description of the property are completely accurate ....excluding the wine bottles !!
The house is along a terraced walkway at the edge of the estate overlooking the Chiller valley and with wonderful mountain views. Sunshine on the main patio from 2pm to sunset at 9pm. Although you can see traffic whizzing by on the motorway the noise is not a noticeable from the patio or house.
The communal pool area is 3 minutes walk near the entrance to the estate. It is spotless and had a lifeguard on duty most times we visited. Near by is the Genesis bar & restaurant which is apparently quite good but had limited opening while we were staying...probably too early in the season yet. Five minute walk from the house is a small but very well stocked Corivan supermarket....fresh bread every morning.
The Nerja market is held on Tues morning just at the entrance to the estate beside the swimming pool & Genesis bar. Its well worth a visit but not the Sun market which is total rubbish !
We particularly appreciated the little extras in the house such as a football, pool float, 2 bats + balls for the beach, music & film DVDs, Irish radio channels on the flatscreen TV (so we could hear all about the wonderful weather they had at home !!!!)
Everything in the house & indeed the whole estate was spotless. The gardens & walkways were very well maintained and the flowers in early June were just wonderful.
Do visit the Nerja caves & Frigliaina village. They are well worth the short trip by car or local bus.
Without a car the walk back from beach & town centre is 20 - 25 minutes. Parts of the way back from the beach is up hill. Great exercise but something to consider. The wonderful views, peace & quiet in Casa Chill Out are worth it though !
We would all highly recommend staying in Casa Chill Out

Cosy, clean and well equipped
We spent a month in Casa Chill Out. It was the perfect place for us to relax and decompress after a busy few months. The casa was exactly as advertised, and clean and cosy. As other reviewers mentioned, the kitchen was well equipped with almost any type of kitchen gadget you'd need.
Julie and Lisa went well out of their way to help us, even arranging to store our excess luggage for a couple of weeks while we took a short trip down to Morocco. The damage deposit was returned on time and in full.
The grounds were lovely, with lemons on the trees and daisies blooming. It was a bit too chilly in March for us to use the pool (though we did see some sturdier folks try it out), but it looked lovely - clean and well kept up. We took in the markets on Tuesdays and Sundays, quite a bit of fun. The only negative I'd have is that the master bed felt a wee bit small for us (but we're used to Canadian Queen and King sizes, so that's just our preference). All in all, we had a lovely experience here, and would gladly stay again.
One tip: if you arrive on a Sunday, the only grocery stores open are on Avenida Mediterráneo (the Jamaica and the Torrecilla).

Nerja is a lovely resort...great restaurants and plenty to see in the area and Casa Chillout was a perfect base for our holiday...light, clean, spacious, comfortable and located in a quiet peaceful area away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The house contained everything we needed for a restful holiday...including fantastic air conditioning (it was very hot!), great views over the sierra and convenient shop and bar close by (the Spanish flamenco singer on Sundays is excellent)
We've only been back in the UK one day and are missing it already!
Wholly recommended.

Chilled out!
We have just returned nice and relaxed from a two week stay at Casa Chill out. This property is first class and by far the best we have stayed in. The house is very well equipped and is spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable. The air conditioning was a godsend as the temperatures were very high for early June. We ate every meal on the beautiful terrace and loved the wonderful countryside and mountain views. The pool was across the road in Aljimara 3 and was clean and well maintained, there was also a kiddies pool which was great. It was nice and quiet at the pool and we had to share with just a few other guests.
We hired a car as we didn't fancy the uphill walk from the beach everyday but we did walk into town most nights which took us about 25 minutes. The walk back was a bit of a trek especially with a buggy but it helped us walk off all the food and drink we were consuming!
Julie was great to deal with, very efficient and helpful as was her daughter Lisa who provided fresh linens and towels after our first week.
This was our third visit to Nerja and it is as lovely as ever. Burriana beach is the closest to the house but our favorite is the Salon beach in the town. The food in most of restaurants is very good. Our favorites are Scarlettas and The Cottage
(both in the town).
We would definitely stay at Casa Chill out again and would have no hesitation recommending this property. Thank you Julie for the use of your beautiful house.

Chill Out
The house was well presented and clean with good facilities. The views from the house are great and its in a quiet area just outside the town of Nerja which is beautiful with wonderful beaches and resturants. A visit to Granada is worthwhile just for the Alambra alone also the mountails villages and caves are a must see.

Great holiday in Nerja
My partner and I stayed at Casa Chillout from 5th to 12th September and we had a lovely holiday. The house is perfect - it has everything that you need - and is really nicely decorated as well as being clean and well maintained. The outside areas are really lovely, as are the views.
The urbanization is very quiet and relaxing. The pool is very nice and we spent quite a few days at Burriana Beach which we loved.
The town of Nerja is really nice and in the information booklet in the house there is a route for a Tapas 'crawl' which we did and it was great.
We walked into town and to the beach which was fine but usually got a taxi back as the hill from the beach is a bit steep!
I would thoroughly recommend Nerja as a holiday destination and would highly recomment Casa Chillout.
There is a market just near the urbanization on a Tuesday which had some nice stalls.
We rented as a 1 bedroom which was a really good option but equally this is a great family house too. Also - very good communication and service from Julie and Lisa. Lisa organised our transfers for us which made things a lot easier and much more convenient - the tax was waiting to collect us at the aiport and was waiting to pick us up when we came home.
