Taormina is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities in Sicily (Italy), a true jewel set in a perfect environment, with the Mediterranean Sea and the volcano Etna as a backdrop.
It sits on a natural terrace, 200 metres above sea level, on what is known as Mount Tauros and is surrounded by some of the best beaches on the island, such as Isola Bella. It is a neat and tidy town, far from the chaos of other Sicilian cities, but also one of the most visited and where mass tourism can take away its charm. Nevertheless, for us, Taormina is an essential stop on a tour of Sicily and a place to see at least once in a lifetime.
