The Wenning is a country house in rural setting within a short distance of the three-peaks, Yorkshire Dales and the Trough of Bowland. The Lake District is just 35 minutes away.

The property was completely refurbished in 2015 to a high specification; it has underfloor heating, solar thermal, MHVR (ventilation system), great wall insulation, double glazing and room thermostats - this makes for a cosy space, regardless of the weather.

You will have access to a garden and a private stretch of river, fishing rights are included (licence required).

The bedrooms are laid out as follows:

Top Floor
- 2 bedrooms, with one ensuite, best for a family as you have to go through one bedroom to get to the other
- One double bed, 2 singles

First Floor
- Double bedroom, ensuite
- Double bedroom, ensuite
- Double bedroom, with bunk beds too

Basement
- Bedroom with 2 bunk beds - this one is downstairs from the nearest toilet

Back of house
- Double bedroom with ensuite.

    Cannot fault any of our stay, property very clean and comfy, kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of room for everybody. Table tennis room was great. Only a short walk into the village. Hot tub and sauna both used. Beds very comfy. Secret room lovely. Great 3 days for all our family.

    The house and grounds are amazing. It was great to have a space for a larger group without feeling crowded. We could have stayed for a month. The weather was fabulous which was the icing on the cake!

    Extremely clear directions and information; beautifully clean; extremely well equipped e.g. in the kitchen, with books and with games; glorious setting - as if almost in the middle of nowhere and yet a very easy walk to the station and the village; perfect for a happy family gathering.

    Beautiful, comfortable house in lovely location.

    The house was well equipped, with lots of space for a large group, it’s in a good area for walking. We loved the hot tub, sauna and table tennis table. Would definitely return again.

    Great stay

    We are a large family with a lot of kids and this property was perfect to fit us all. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen area which was lovely and big - great for socialising. All bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We will deffo be returning!

    Amazing house for large get togethers

    We stayed as a group of 18 for a long weekend at the Wenning and found the property to be better than we could have imagined!The rooms were all beautifully decorated and the kitchen is the best equipped I have stayed with such a social party space. Outside is so peaceful with lovely access to the river from the front and only a short walk into Bentham. Highly recommended

    A gem of a period property

    We had a fabulous long weekend at The Wenning. It has been beautifully restored into a spacious, comfortable and elegant home. The property is well appointed, within walking distance of the station, shops and pubs yet still quiet and private. We particularly loved the secret room

    Absolutely amazing house

    Stunning house, huge beautifully decorated bedrooms. The kitchen had everything that you could possibly want in it, both lounges were cosy and perfect to relax in. Had lots of fun playing table tennis and relaxing in the hot tub and sauna. Thank you we will definitively be back!

    Family get together

    Fantastic large house with amazing en-suite bathrooms to nearly all the bedrooms. Well maintained with latest mod cons and wonderful heating. Loved the hot tub and the outdoor space too. Would highly recommend.

    66th Birthday

    A surprise party for my husband. The whole family stayed, children, grandchildren and dogs. The house was beautiful - very clean, warm, comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved the hot tub, sauna and table tennis and the kitchen had every dish, pot & utensil we could possibly want. The host was friendly and helpful and looked after us. We would definitely stay again!

    What a weekend!

    We had a fabulous stay at The Wenning for my sister’s birthday! The house was perfect for what we needed- the kitchen/dining room was huge so made it a lovely, sociable space. The kitchen was also very well equipped, it was like a home from home. The other amenities such as hot tub and sauna just topped it off. I would really recommend this house for anyone looking for somewhere to stay for a family or friends get together!

    Great stay in a lovely house

    We were a group of friends getting together for a few days to do the Yorkshire 3 Peaks & visit The Great Yorkshire show. We had a great time! The house was perfect for us. Very clean, comfortable beds, lovely showers & well equipped kitchen with a huge dining table. It had a nice homely feel, a lot of love & thought had been put into furnishing & decorating it and we looked forward to coming back to it after our days out. We would definitely return.

    An absolutely stunning property in a great location

    I celebrated my 60th birthday at The Wenning with my sister and 7 friends. It could not have been more perfect (except a bit less rain on Wednesday 🙃). The property is even better than the photos portray. We had space to do morning yoga and meditation too. The kitchen was excellent for private chefs as well as cooking ourselves as it is very well equipped. We just loved it here and we were all sad to leave.

    We were a family party of 17, 10 adults and 7 children for a special birthday celebration. The house was perfect in size for our family. The property was stunning in a beautiful setting. Every room was beautifully decorated and furnished and the whole house was spotlessly clean. I’m sure thanks to Charlie and her teamOf cleaning staff The hot tub and the sauna were a great asset and a lovely relaxing feature. The children loved the table tennis room! There was so much space that even with a big group like ours we were not on top of each other !! The children loved the secret TV relaxation room!The host Phil has thought of everything for a perfect stay! Everything was made easy! Check-in was simple with key in a key box when we arrived. We were given telephone numbers if we had any problems. We loved our long weekend and I’m sure we will return. Thank you to everyone involved

    It has the WOW factor

    Hired for suprise 30th birthday get together for our family. House was ready as promised, very clean and bedrooms exactly what we needed, double beds for couples with single beds in same room for children, we even had the water bed which was a big suprise. Huge kitchen/dining room with table with space for all. Plenty of spices and condiments in the cupboards. Warm throughout the house, the lounges were comfy and the children fascinated with the secret room. Short walk into the village/town where plenty of shops, pubs and takeaways. Could quite happily live there.
