HI Erin, Thank you for the positive response. I figured out the issue with internet, there was a plug that was controlling the power to the router and cable box. Thank you for your feedback. I am committed to delivering an exceptional guest experience, as evidenced by the consistently positive reviews over the past 18 years on VRBO and HomeAway.com. This situation is unprecedented, as it marks the first time a guest has attempted to cancel their stay eight weeks after checking in, resulting in unnecessary administrative efforts with VRBO and the owner to resolve the issue. Regrettably, this guest caused significant damage to the property due to personal negligence. The motorized blinds in the guest bedroom had to be replaced, and a new $800 leather chair required repair. These damages were documented with photographs and reported to VRBO and the renter. Consequently, the security deposit was withheld in accordance with the signed lease agreement. Despite the total repair costs amounting to $1,275, the renter was charged only $500 for the excessive damage. The renter had declined to pay $99 for insurance coverage, which could have covered the damages and protected both the owner and the renter. Tenant was difficult to communicate with and damaged the property. This renter's rating is completely inconsistent with all of the reviews since renting the property. 1) - After move-out, refrigerator and cupboards was full of food and drinks. Property was left a complete disaster. Cleaning service charged extra deep cleaning charge 2)- Tenant damaged new motorized blinds in guest bedroom beyond repair 3)- Tenant damaged end table in family room 4) - Tenant did not understand how to operate remote controls. Instructions provided have not been an issue with any other tenants for the past 10 years. I spent several hours with tenant and cable provider (no-fault-found) over the phone step-by-step reviewing how to turn on TV, watch cable, Netflix. Outcome was operator error. 6) – Renter requested to rent for 2021. Requested dates were not available. 7) – 100% of security deposit was returned on 4/7. Tenant feedback is inaccurate. Owner needed to submit insurance claim to address repairs for item 2 and 3.
