Studio sea view, wifi, spacious + balcony, near beach and shops
Refurbished, this very bright studio has an entrance which leads to the shower room and separate WC. A glass door separates it from the main room: on the right, the sleeping area, on the left the dining table and the lounge area; the kitchen is set back on the left, open to the American on the dining area. Opposite, a large picture window opening onto the surrounding gardens and the sea 200 m away.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a residence built around 1955, 'Le Neptune', consisting of 3 buildings; the studio is in the central part, block B, the one with the entrance under the porch. You have 2 steps at the entrance. The elevator takes you to the 3rd floor, your studio is accessed through the middle door. The walls have been lined with sound insulation for your peace. The studio has a balcony with a wide view of the sea and the roofs of the Centennial Course pavilions and their gardens; the building, accessible by a private road, is set back from the street. Rental is preferably from Saturday to Saturday, exceptions are possible in periods outside the tourist season. Close to shops, it is 200 m away. from the beach, facing south / southeast. It is a studio with full American kitchen, equipped with 2 single beds which, put together make a bed of 180 cm, and a sofa bed for 2 (the household linen is not included but can be rented on demand). You will have a pleasant lunch on the balcony in April; equipped to live there all year round, this apartment is as comfortable in winter as in summer. Parking your vehicle is rather easy thanks to the parking spaces located at the foot of the building + free parking 100m away. More difficult in high season despite everything.

Tourism & History: Menton is a small town which has kept its provincial charm. Positioned between sea and mountain on the border with Italy, it has benefited from its architectural influence and keeps its colors; the city is French only since 1861 after having been Monegasque for 5 centuries until 1848. Lemon has long been the main source of income in Menton thanks to its micro-climate which has also enabled the creation of many exotic gardens when the crowned heads of Europe and their entourage chose Menton for their winter residence. At the time, it took 3 weeks of horse carriages to come from Paris, you will take less time today!
To reach the Neptune: You are 200 m from a bus stop (Place d'Armes) and 15 minutes from the Menton Sncf station and 25 minutes from the Roquebrune / Carnoles station. If you come by car from the highway, do not miss the exit otherwise you will arrive in Italy. By plane, Nice international airport is 40 km away, or 1 hour and 15 minutes by direct bus line, the Place d'Armes stop is 200m away; unless you prefer to rent a car at the airport. On the Italian side, Genoa is around 1 hour 30 minutes and Milan, 3 hours.
The weather: Menton benefits from a micro-climate, even compared to Nice which is only 33 km away. It is less hot in summer and less cold in winter, around 3 to 4 °. If June is the most pleasant period for the mild temperature and flowering, it is good all year round, it never freezes in winter and the sun shines there for more than 300 days a year; Fortunately, there are also periods of rain which make the region rather green and never run out of water.
The hinterland is a treat for lovers of hiking and history and you will find the calm that is sometimes lacking by the sea in August. Each village has something picturesque: Gorbio has remained natural and protected from the shops and art galleries that generally accompany the influx of tourists like in Eze which is nevertheless worth the detour thanks to its safeguarded architecture, the point of view it also offers its shops and galleries! Or Sospel, Breil-sur-Roya and Saorge clinging to the mountain like a Tibetan village. You can discover its villages and many others by following the Baroque Route and pass from France to Italy without realizing it. Info. Various: Containers for selective sorting of paper, plastic and green at the end of the street. The studio is equipped with a summer / winter fan.

We loved the location, which offered sea views and local food shops, but was away from the busy main road. Being so close to the station was a huge bonus too. Apartment offered a well kitted-out kitchen, comfy beds and spacious shower room, and sitting on the balcony was wonderful for sunny breakfasts. Thank you, Lucette!
Great studio apartment. Not far from train station. Very close to the beach. Lucette was very helpful when checking in. Made us feel very welcome. Balcony area is great (some road noise from motor scooters/bikes at morning and evening rush hours).

Very happy you enjoyed your holiday! Hope to see you again.
Loved our stay in this comfortable studio...an oasis from the bussling streets of old town Menton. Getting to town is just a short stroll along the promenade. The train station is a 10 minute walk away and from there, access can be gained to all the local towns along the Riviera. But, it was the balcony with it's calming sea view that gave us the most pleasure....enjoying a cold beverage before going out to eat each evening at one of the many excellent local establishments.
A wonderful stay in this authentic French apartment
The apartment was great - we enjoyd staying in it. The location was excellent for us: nice walking distance to the center of Menton and the train station, several grocery stores near by and a lovely view to the Mediterranian. When entering the apartment the first impression was a bit old-fashioned (after staying in modern hotels), but everything was clean and worked well and after a few days we felt home and enjoyed this authentic French apartment a lot. The very nice landlady (Lucette) speaks excellent English and lives herself in the same building. Arrangements were easy. We had a wonderful time in Bel Horizon -apartment. Thank you Lucette. :-)
Piccolo appartamento situato in ottima posizione.Bel terrazzo vista mare
