Country House in Loire Valley

This is a lovely rustic country house on an acreage minutes away from Amboise. The hostess Marie-Josephe is a lovely woman who is very generous with her produce from her garden and fruit trees. Her free range chickens are entertaining and the eggs are delicious! We would recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet, out of the way location, yet within minutes to Amboise, the Chateau, restaurants, and vineyards!

charmant op z'n Frans

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf. Het is een charmant huis op een handige plek tussen de kastelen. Het was gezellig met de kippen in de tuin en we mochten groente en fruit uit de tuin halen. De keuken en het meubilair zijn wel gedateerd. Het contact met de de gastvrouw was heel hartelijk. In de buurt van het huisje kun je prachtig wandelen.

If you enjoy staying in a barnyard with chickens roaming into your accommodations and defecating, you'll love this house! The moldy house, antique mattresses and chickens will leave asthmatics grasping for their inhalers. Be sure to have health insurance if you're traveling from abroad as you'll most likely be getting some infection from your stay.

A wonderful week!

Lovely stay in a beautiful property. The hosts were so kind - answered all our questions, a lovely homegrown welcome gift and thoughtful welcome to the house for us and our children. The house is surrounded by wonderful grounds, our children loved the chickens, and we were able to enjoy the fruit and herbs grown in the gardens. The house itself is of a time with beautiful and quirky period features (and its own unique legend!), but has everything you need. Perfect base for Châteaus and family fun - lulu park was fab! Would recommend, thank you!

Beautiful updated house near Amboise

Marie and her husband did an outstanding job remodeling an old home that was part of a family compound. All the amenities for a pleasant stay are available. If we spoke French, it would have been so nice to share stories with them. Marie definitely made us feel at home!

A Perfect Location Near Amboise

The house is very close to Amboise and the many chateaus in the Loire Valley. It is in a beautiful setting in a rural area outside Amboise. The house was as described and is very comfortable. Every morning we enjoyed fresh eggs provided by our host. Our host was very nice and gave a complete tour of the house. It was very hot during our stay but the house was comfortable and we even had a fan. We highly recommend this property.

Perfect for our family

This house was perfect for our holiday and the fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden were delicious! It is beautifully quiet but close enough to town. The house and facilities were all we needed, plenty of room for the four of us (2 adults and 2 teenage girls!). Marie is a fabulous host and she suffered my terrible French very politely!

Magnifique jardin

Un séjour très agréable dans cette magnifique maison où l'accueil et la communication avec les propriétaires étaient géniaux. Dans la maison, on trouve tout le nécessaire : ustensiles de cuisine, linge de maison, etc. L'extérieur est également très appréciable avec ce magnifique jardin rempli de fleurs et de poules. Un bouquet de roses fraîchement cueilli nous attendait à l'arrivée. Marie Josephe est une hôte de très gentille, bienveillante et disponible. Nous recommandons vivement ce lieu de vacances !

Séjour pour visiter les châteaux de la Loire

Tout c’est très bien passé, nos hôtes ont été charmants, prévenants, et la maison est placée idéalement pour visiter les principaux sites. Le jardin est fleuri avec goût, au calme. Je recommande cette location sans problème, les grands et petits ont beaucoup appréciés.

Notre hôte nous a accueilli avec une grande bienveillance. La maison était complète avec toutes les commodités :WiFi, parking... Nous avons profité du jardin, et les nourriture cultivée par notre hôte. La maison était très bien placée, 10 min à pied de la rivière, près d'Ambroise.

Nous avons été accueillis avec beaucoup de gentillesse par Marie, qui tout au long du séjour nous a offert de délicieux légumes de son jardin. La location et le jardin clos sont très grands et ont été très appréciés des enfants. Merci encore pour ce très agréable séjour.

Wonderful!!!!

We loved our stay! The house was charming, well appointed and very clean. Marie was an absolutely fabulous and generous host. Our daughter especially loved the large yard, gardens and chickens. There we amazing views of the night sky from the upstairs deck. We highly recommend staying here.

Great house in great environment

We enjoyed our stay in the house. We had a warm welcome and appreciate the eggs and jam the owner gave to us. The house was nice and everything was working fine. We enjoyed our meals in the garden and enjoyed the cat and chickens around the house. We certainly recommend this house and we are planning on coming back again.

Totally Unique House in the French Countryside

An absolutely unique home . Unique in original decor, many pieces made by the artist and owner of the house. Owners live in another house on the property and are there to help with anything you need. Check in and out was easy. The property is 2 stories and does not have screens on the windows. I wouldn't recommend this to people with mobility issues or young children. That being said, it was a pleasure to have stayed in such a unique home. The owner was fantastic. I would love to stay there again.

Wonderful stay in the country near Amboise

We loved our stay at Marie Louise and Christian’s house in the country. Thank you for the kind hospitality - we appreciated the fresh eggs and jam. The 19th century charming character house was a delight and we enjoyed meals outside.
