Highlight of our France Trip - we felt like locals

Perfect for our family

This house was perfect for our holiday and the fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden were delicious! It is beautifully quiet but close enough to town. The house and facilities were all we needed, plenty of room for the four of us (2 adults and 2 teenage girls!). Marie is a fabulous host and she suffered my terrible French very politely!

Wonderful!!!!

We loved our stay! The house was charming, well appointed and very clean. Marie was an absolutely fabulous and generous host. Our daughter especially loved the large yard, gardens and chickens. There we amazing views of the night sky from the upstairs deck. We highly recommend staying here.

Wonderful

Amazing character filled gîte in the heart of a region full of history. So much in easy reach but we were there to read and relax and speak some french and found this an ideal location with a very warm and generous proprietaire. I never knew how relaxing it could be just sit watching chickens.

Absolutely wonderful

What a marvellous find. We enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. Lots of space and comfortable. The area is great to explore; with a lovely lake just down the road. The owner is very helpful and friendly without being obtrusive. We would definitely recommend staying here. I loved it.....

Beautiful updated house near Amboise

Marie and her husband did an outstanding job remodeling an old home that was part of a family compound. All the amenities for a pleasant stay are available. If we spoke French, it would have been so nice to share stories with them. Marie definitely made us feel at home!

Country House in Loire Valley

This is a lovely rustic country house on an acreage minutes away from Amboise. The hostess Marie-Josephe is a lovely woman who is very generous with her produce from her garden and fruit trees. Her free range chickens are entertaining and the eggs are delicious! We would recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quiet, out of the way location, yet within minutes to Amboise, the Chateau, restaurants, and vineyards!

A wonderful week!

Lovely stay in a beautiful property. The hosts were so kind - answered all our questions, a lovely homegrown welcome gift and thoughtful welcome to the house for us and our children. The house is surrounded by wonderful grounds, our children loved the chickens, and we were able to enjoy the fruit and herbs grown in the gardens. The house itself is of a time with beautiful and quirky period features (and its own unique legend!), but has everything you need. Perfect base for Châteaus and family fun - lulu park was fab! Would recommend, thank you!

A Perfect Location Near Amboise

The house is very close to Amboise and the many chateaus in the Loire Valley. It is in a beautiful setting in a rural area outside Amboise. The house was as described and is very comfortable. Every morning we enjoyed fresh eggs provided by our host. Our host was very nice and gave a complete tour of the house. It was very hot during our stay but the house was comfortable and we even had a fan. We highly recommend this property.

If you enjoy staying in a barnyard with chickens roaming into your accommodations and defecating, you'll love this house! The moldy house, antique mattresses and chickens will leave asthmatics grasping for their inhalers. Be sure to have health insurance if you're traveling from abroad as you'll most likely be getting some infection from your stay.

Cosy house with a very nice owner

We spent a nice week in this village house close to nature and simple life. The house is in the hearth of the region, close to a road convenient for many places to visit, however, it is surrounded by a garden and woods. It is extremely calm, quiet and relaxing. You can enjoy the company of free hens and small chickens. The best part, however, was the host - Marie-Joseph who was extremely charming and helpful.

Large with character

A very nice couple with limited English but very responsive with emails to ease communication. Very spacious but chilly in October because it was so large. I was concerned about how much the gas & electric would cost me at the end of our stay, so I didn't keep the water heater on at all times, I'm sure it would have been very comfortable if we cranked the heat up. Worrying about about these unknown costs definitely took away comfort and I will not book another place that charges this fee separately due to this constant concern. I understand that without charging gas & electric that people can be mindless & wasteful, making it costly for the owner, but for me it was stressful as I did not want to end up with a large bill. In the end it was only 20€ for the 4 days. I wish this cost & charges for the towels & sheets were mentioned up front and not only on the 2nd step of booking despite it saying towels & linens provided. It should say provided for a fee. I brought my own sheets & towels. There were plenty of blankets so I was never cold in bed. Kitchen towels included. We had to watch the World Series & streaming on wifi was not a problem with our fire stick plugged into the TV. The kids loved the chickens & tending to the fire. Beds were very comfy. 2 full bathrooms, one with a bathtub & handheld shower head. Dish soap & dishwasher capsules included along with one hand soap, I suggest including hand soap for each bathroom. They offer you access to their herb & vegetable garden, along with a ton of frozen veggies including ratatouille, but I couldn't find salt or pepper (or any dried spices) in the house. Coffee filters were provided but no coffee. I wish my French was better as they seemed very nice & chatted a bit at departure. They gave us our privacy during our stay while being available if needed.

I am at your disposal but you did not dare to come and question me. For my part, respecting your privacy, I didn't want to disturb you either. I hope you will keep fond memories of our region and our house which indeed is very comfortable when everything is put into operation. I had explained to you that I preferred that everyone pay according to their consumption according to the meter readings, which seems fair to me because there can be very significant differences in consumption depending on the needs of families. Nevertheless, know that we appreciated you meeting you. The four of you are really nice.

charmant op z'n Frans

We hebben genoten van ons verblijf. Het is een charmant huis op een handige plek tussen de kastelen. Het was gezellig met de kippen in de tuin en we mochten groente en fruit uit de tuin halen. De keuken en het meubilair zijn wel gedateerd. Het contact met de de gastvrouw was heel hartelijk. In de buurt van het huisje kun je prachtig wandelen.

Propriétaire charmants et très intéressant. Il ne nous a manquer de rien (déliceux légumes en profusion). Accueil charmant et très beau gite. Accessibilité vers les différents sites au top.
