Epitomising all that West Cornwall is famous for, St Ives is a dream destination for holidays with family and friends. Popular with visitors from all over the globe, this stunning slice of the Cornish coast offers pristine sandy beaches, excellent surfing conditions, and of course plenty more to do whether it be eating out, shopping up a storm or exploring the town's art galleries and other nearby attractions.

If you're in search of a terrific bolthole for your getaway to this magical place, Shearwater View, 7 Rosemorran which tucks itself away in a quiet development just 15 minutes' walk from Porthminster Beach, is perfect! Positioned on the first floor, this contemporary apartment has two bedrooms and a light-filled open plan living room, completed with a window seat from which to enjoy the views out to Godrevy Lighthouse and St Ives Bay. There's a stylish kitchen / diner for when you'd prefer to eat in rather than out, and a sunny shared terrace overlooking a large communal garden for relaxation when the weather is warm and sunny.

Like many popular coastal towns, parking in St Ives can be a challenge during busier times of the year, which is why the apartment's own parking space is a real bonus for guests. There's also a regular bus service to the town centre which stops right outside the property, so for those who prefer not to walk back up the hill, it's ideal!

Review of our stay

We really enjoyed our stay here, with the gorgeous view and perfect location- close to the shops and the beach. Unfortunately, the apartment wasn’t clean when we arrived. There were some dirty cutlery and a cup in the dishwasher and a lot of dust. The plastic plates in the cupboard were really dirty and had thick white dirt on. Some of the other kitchen utensils that were in the drawer were also not clean. We requested to use the high chair and cot, but these had to be cleaned as they were filthy. The fire extinguisher stand was not fitted correctly to the wall and fell off during our stay. The toilet and bathroom was not clean and there were old soap marks down the sides of the bath from previous guests. The apartment provided clean towels for our stay, soap, cleaning products, dishwasher tablets and washing machine capsules which were really useful during our stay. Overall it was a nice apartment, spacious and in a great location but the cleanliness could have been better as a lot of things were missed and not checked.
