From arrival, easy to park outside and drop off bags etc, The Island car Park was within a minutes walk. House was nice and cosy. Beaches were within a couple of minutes walk, so it was ideally located. Host was very good at communicating with us, even arranging a Christmas tree to be in the lounge.

Had a few weeks staying in this cottage in November. Great communications with the host.House clean and has everything you need. Bit of a trek getting from the ground floor kitchen up to the double room on the top floor but we knew that prior. Very common though with all these cottages in this area.Really close to the beaches and the town.We enjoyed our stay.
Really lovely traditional fishing cottage in old part of St Ives, very close to harbour, several beaches. Cottage is quaint, but had everything we needed. Comfortable and attractive and most enjoyable.
We had a wonderful time. The cottage is lovely and ideally situated. We were able to potter about to our hearts’ content and St Ives has so much to offer. Our host answered our queries quickly and fully. Check in was easy. Well appointed with everything we needed. Thank you for a lovely place to stay.
We all really enjoyed our stay at this cottage. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well after our days exploring St Ives. The cottage has everything you possibly need and the location perfect.

Quaint cottage near beaches. Can see a glimpse of sea from upstairs bedroom. Love the location. Could walk everywhere. The house is clean, and styled very cute. No musty smell. There are a lot of stairs so if mobility is an issue then this might not be best choice. My mom and I felt right at home. It was a great experience!

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our cottage. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and we are looking forward to welcoming you back next year!
I loved the position of 4 St Eia, so close to the beach for a morning swim and to the School of Painting and yet very peaceful at night. Lovely bedlinen, beautifully clean and I had everything I needed. Not five stars due to one or two niggles during my stay which just needed a bit more maintenance/attention. eg TV, taps and there is a lot of going up and down stairs!

Thank you for taking the time to review our home. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
There are certainly a few sets of stairs, luckily we clearly state this in the description. Keeps guests fit though!
If only you had let us know about one of the TVs before your last day we could have rectified this quickly for you. As you didn’t report a problem with taps unfortunately we did not get a chance to rectify any problem.

Fantastic position
We had a great holiday in your cottage, everything we needed was at hand. We especially liked that it was in a quieter part of
St Ives but incredibly near to a nice beach. We also liked that fact that it's near to great restaurants and shops.

Hi we are a family who have holidayed in St Ives for over 20 years and are now very excited to own our first home here. St Ives is our second home and we look forward to welcoming many guests to share our home with us. We make as many trips as we can each year driving all the way from Essex! Now our children are older we spend many a day on Porthmeor Beach Body Boarding as a family come rain or shine! Porthgwidden Beach is another favourite of ours, both of which are a stones throw from 4 St Eia. Location was key for us! We know St Ives very well, have made many friends and contacts over the years and are happy to try and answer any questions you may have.
We hope you enjoy St Ives as much as we do, it really is unique!
Why they chose this property
The cottage is located in the Downalong area of St Ives and is the oldest part of St Ives. It's a pretty tangle of narrow streets and tiny courtyards clustered around the harbour. It’s the most picturesque and atmospheric part of the town, characterised by traditional fisherman’s cottages, imaginative street names, and points of historical interest. Downalong was originally the domain of fishing families, in contrast with ‘Upalong’ – the higher part of the town around The Higher Stennack and on towards Hellesveor, which was at one time the preserve of the local mining community.
What makes this property unique
St Ives is one of the most picturesque and vibrant towns in Cornwall, located on the rugged and beautiful north coast of the county. It's a place where the charm of the past meets the creativity of the present, making it a must-visit for tourists.
Beaches & Scenic Views St Ives is known for its stunning beaches. With soft golden sand, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque coves, it’s a perfect destination for beach lovers. Porthmeor Beach is a favorite among surfers, while Porthminster Beach is ideal for families, offering calm waters and incredible views of the bay. From many spots around the town, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the iconic St Ives Harbour, and the surrounding rugged coastline.
Art & Culture The town has a rich artistic heritage. It's home to the renowned Tate St Ives, part of the Tate gallery network, showcasing contemporary and modern art, with a focus on works inspired by the landscape and light of Cornwall. The Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden is another gem, dedicated to the life and works of the famous sculptor who lived and worked in St Ives. The town itself is an outdoor gallery, with many local artists’ studios and galleries scattered throughout.
Charming Streets & Local Shops Wander through the narrow cobbled streets of St Ives, where you’ll find a mix of quirky shops, art galleries, cafés, and restaurants. The town has a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for strolling and soaking in the coastal beauty. The maze of winding streets leads to hidden treasures, including boutique shops selling local art, jewelry, and handcrafted goods. The town is also known for its independent food scene, with seafood being a major highlight. A visit to the Harbour Seafood Restaurant or any of the seafood markets by the quay is a must for those craving fresh local dishes.
