About this property
Number Six - in the heart of St Ives - with parking
Number Six is our much loved holiday home in the centre of St Ives. Everywhere is an easy walk. Situated in Mount Pleasant, it is only a couple minutes from Fore Street, The Harbour, and all the beaches. It is charming, stylish, and captures the essence of St.Ives, with our own small collection of original local and regional art on display. Enter through the front door into the sitting-room, and then through an open doorway to the kitchen/dining-room, and outside, a little private patio, where there is enough space to hang out the wetsuits, and maybe have a coffee. The Kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need, and of course there is a dishwasher and washer / dryer. Up the cottage stairs is the fresh and light bathroom (with a bath and a shower enclosure) and two chic bedrooms. The double is furnished with a gorgeous contemporary four-poster bed, and the second bedroom has twin beds. The house sleeps four people, has full central heating, and unlimited wireless internet and smart TV. The house is very central, yet quietly situated. The World renowned Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, run by the Tate Gallery, is just 100 yards down the lane, and we are close to all the local amenities, beaches and attractions. Number Six is an ideal base for a stay in St Ives, and the chance to enjoy a 'car free' holiday. There are amazing beaches, fantastic restaurants, and wonderful scenery all within a couple of minutes walk. All of our guests have enjoyed Number Six, and we have had wonderful feedback from them. There are many rental properties in St Ives, but we like to say that Number Six is a real holiday Home, not just another rental. We are happy to accept ONE dog.
In the main season, we operate a FRIDAY changeover day, with weekly or fortnightly stays only, but try to be as flexible as we can at other times.
Parking is at a premium in St Ives, but we have a reserved space in Barnoon Car Park, above the Tate Gallery. It is the closest car park to us, and only a couple of minutes away.We strongly recommend that you book this on your booking form by ticking the 'Parking' box.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

The cottage is clean, well equipped and enhanced with a variety of artworks, in keeping with St Ives' eclectic vibe. Well equipped kitchen, good sized bedrooms, and bathroom with a good shower all combined to make our weekend really comfortable. The location is perfect for getting to all parts of St Ives in just a few minutes' walk. The addition of a car parking permit was a definite bonus.

Lovely elegant and charming cottage....perfect location in town to walk to everything ...
Loved St. Ives and this cottage...had all amenities, including a strong shower and great iron (important to me!) and a courtesy umbrella...easy walking access to town and beaches though it is an uphill walk to cottage...is true to pictures...would book it again...
Nice apartment in the center of town. Easy walk to the beach.
Very good apartment, but could use some updating, especially the bedding.

Thanks for the review. Pure white bedding and towels are supplied and changed for every guest by a local linen hire company; for fortnightly guests the linen is changed weekly. Cutains, bed throws and cushions in all rooms are replaced regularly - twin bedroom has had new blinds, cushions and throws only this week.
Nice cottage, we enjoyed our stay, St Ives is just stunning! Good location, not far from all the main shops, cafes, pubs, and beaches! but on a very steep hill, not for elderly or unfit.
Cottage could do with a bit of TLC, in need of painting in lounge and landing, also really in need of a new stair carpet. We will most definitely return to St Ives.
it was a lovely cottage. small but well appointed. as with most properties in st ives it has difficult access not for the unfit or faint hearted, but beautiful and very atmospheric. we had a lovely 3 night stay saw a lot of the area, visited with friends, ate some amazing fish meals, had some fantastic walks and views. will definitely come to Cornwall again it is a stunning county.
Ist is a small, nice House in the near of the Harbour. It is practical and nicely decorated. The parking space that belongs to the house is very helpful.
Thank you so much. We had such a wonderful stay at Number 6 ♥️
The location is fabulous and the cottage is very well appointed. So handy to restaurants, cafes and bars. The list of local recommendations was great.
We loved how the cottage was decorated with all the wonderful local artwork and pottery. We ended up purchasing some similar items as a reminder of our time in St Ives.
We found the communication excellent and the check in and parking instructions easy to follow.
We would highly recommend this property and absolutely loved our visit. It was perfect - thank you again.

We had an amazing Easter weekend stay at this cottage! The cleanliness and layout of the cottage were exceptional and Michael and Juliet were available to assist with any queries we had. We were pleasantly surprised with the lovely goodies that were left for us, adding a nice touch to our welcome.
The cottage was also perfect for hosting a family meal, as everything was easily accessible. The convenience of having most of the crockery go in the dishwasher was a real time-saver, and the well-designed kitchen made cooking much easier. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the shower had excellent water pressure. While the wifi and reception were not the strongest, they were still manageable.
This minor inconvenience aside, we honestly couldn't find any faults with this place.
We brought our dogs along and enjoyed spending a significant amount of time outside with them, exploring the beautiful beaches (although we recommend reading the restrictions for dogs beforehand). St Ives is a fantastic destination for families, with its stunning scenery and delicious food options.
Overall, it was a delightful cottage in a fantastic location, with breathtaking views.
Yes, there is a steep hill to climb, but that is to be expected in St Ives. We highly recommend this cottage, It exceeded our expectations and would definitely choose to stay here again!
Over the last 20 years we have celebrated 10 Christmases in St Ives. This cottage was everything we hoped for: clean, very well appointed, great beds, and a super location. Every question we had was quickly answered and the instructions for everything were clear and concise.
Communication between myself and the owners was excellent along with the directions to the cottage and the carpark. The place itself had everything we needed (apart from a pizza tray lol) we ate out apart from this one night. It had dishwasher tablets, washing capsules, washing up liquid, dishcloth, plenty of coat hangers (I always take extra as there never seems to be enough but I needn't have bothered) tea bags, hairdryer, plenty of towels, we didn't need to buy anything. Also had the basics, salt, pepper, vinegar. We were left scones, jam, cream and a pint of milk which was fab as we were gasping for a cup of tea when we arrived. The cottage is small but was big enough for the 4 of us plus our dog. The stairs are quite steep compared to what we're used to. The shower was amazing, very powerful. The location is perfect as it's so central (3 or 4 minute walk to the harbour) but it's on a very very steep hill. We're not old ourselves and would class us as decently fit but was puffing by the time we reached the door so maybe not ideal for those who struggle with mobility. The road where the cottage is, is extremely narrow. We pulled up, unloaded our things then went straight to the carpark. Having parking is an absolute bonus. We discovered a better way to walk to the carpark (not so much of a steep hill to climb) walk up the road when you come out and take your first right, then left, then right which brings you to a main road and you can see the sea. Turn right, walk down the road and you will see the carpark. Takes 5 mins, if that..found it so much easier, especially if you're carrying bags for the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at No.6.
This lovely cottage is just as described, and we truly felt at home away from home. Michael and Juliet were such wonderful hosts, entertaining a million questions even prior to our arrival to ensure our stay was perfect. They were highly responsive when we awoke to no hot water, with their repair person literally knocking on the door within minutes of Michael receiving our message about it. We were welcomed with scones and made use of the Nespresso and milk that were made available to meet the day with a warm latte. I only wish we were staying longer, and we would definitely rebook if lucky enough to return to St. Ives. We had everything we needed and then some. Thank you Michael and Juliet!

Thanks Bernice - so pleased you enjoyed St Ives, and we hope you had a memorable trip around Europe.
Number 6 is a little gem!! We have always stayed in hotels before and yet this visit we had our 25 year old son and a small dog in tow so renting a cottage made sense. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice as the cottage was extremely homely and absolutely pristine. The whole experience was seamless with Michael and Juliet who were the perfect hosts ensuring we had everything we needed and were happy with everything. Car parking options with the cottage is a huge asset especially I would imagine in high season as St Ives gets very busy . Attention to detail is apparent throughout the house ;
White bedding and fluffy white towels made it a home from home experience alongside the gorgeous eclectic art .
I would definitely without hesitation recommend staying at No 6 and will certainly return again !!
Thankyou again Michael and Juliet
Lovely cottage in the heart of St Ives! Perfect with the kids who could go and explore on their own and find their way back easily. Owners were super helpful and we’ll be sure to come back again for another stay!

Thank you Mark, so pleased you enjoyed Number Six as much as we do, and so glad to be able to welcome guests once more. Come again anytime.
The cottage was Situated close to harbour and restaurants which was very convenient but the downside of this was finding the cottage and unpacking your car in a narrow street and having a neighbour a few doors up taking pictures of our car, this was stressful but having said that we enjoyed our stay in your little cottage x

Thanks for the review Lynn and pleased you enjoyed your stay. St Ives is a town of very narrow streets, not designed for cars, which is why we provide very precise directions to our house.

We are now retired, live in Somerset and have been visiting St Ives all our lives. We love our cottage here - we hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
Having owned previous properties close to St Ives, we chose to buy Number Six because of it's location and charm. It is very central, yet quietly located. We love being almost in the centre of town, yet away from the hubub! Number Six is a perfect place to enjoy a car free holiday and enjoy the beaches, the walks, the galleries, and of course, the restaurants.
What makes this property unique
Quiet, yet central, with wonderful feedback from all of our guests.
