Gorgeous views, charming town

I stayed here with extended family including small children and senior citizens. We found the views and the property absolutely stunning. The smell of flowers and sound of the birds and crickets were mesmerizing. The kitchen is professional grade. The house was charmingly decorated and we loved the opportunity to pick cherries and plums (we visited in mid June) There are other people living in close proximity to the house we rented but otherwise it is quite isolated. The local town is charming but it is a good walk up and down the hill to arrive. About 1.5mi(2.5km). We did not know that the laundry facilities were not for the guests to use but were handled by the owner and we probably overwhelmed her with laundry. Otherwise our interactions were pleasant. We loved it!

Beautiful Compound on top of the Mountain

Valsamoggia is actually a multiple lodging place. There are a total of 5 buildings that can accommodate up to 44 people. The pictures shown on are mixed and showing shots from several of the buildings. My group stayed in the main building which was built as a B&B. a 6 Master Suite location, each bedroom has an adjoining private bath. We had a wonderful stay here. Elisa is a great hostess and does everything she can to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. So you ask why I did not give 5 stars? My issue is the amenities listed is not accurate- while there is a Washer and dishwasher shown under amenities, you are not allowed to use them. Typically when I see a coffee pot listed I think of an electric coffee maker, instead it was a stove top percolator ( the coffee was excellent). Also you will be charged separately for the propane to heat the water & heat the home. We were there in March and it was quite chilly in the evenings all said and done we paid an additional $200USD for the propane, and were asked to pay that in cash. This is the first home weekly rental that I have ever been charged additional utility charges, then to be asked to pay that in cash was very strange to me. Again we had a wonderful time- the place was very clean & comfortable with amazing views!

Thanks Karen for choosing Ca' Mongiorgi. I was veri happy to welcome you and your friends. I'm just sorry you had some problems: -Electric coffee maker: we had 2 available: it was enough that you asked me. I showed you the big MOKA and you said that was great! -Dishwasher: being a very delicate industrial dishwasher, I preferred to use it myself, taking away all responsability in case of breackage: this additional service was not charged to you! -Washmachine:this is also an industrial device: Laundry service was not charged to you! -Regarding the LPG heating of the radiators, you were already informed in my previous mail, that it was calculated from the initial and final reading of the meter: unfortunately during your stay the weather was very cold: the wood you used for the fireplace and the stove was free! -As about hot water of bathrooms, you didn't pay anything, because it was included : hot water comes from solar panel and from electricity, NOT from LGP, - You were asked to pay cash for the extra costs (It was not a big amount...,) as we do not have POS for credit cards. Anyway I thank you again and I hope to welcome you in summertime, when there is no problem of heating! Best Elisa

kein angenehmer Aufenthalt

My name is Elisa, I'm 66 years old and I've been living in Savigno for about 15 years with my beloved Benny (the dog that you see in the picture with me) and together with my brother's family.

I was born and raised in one of the most industrialized areas of northern Italy, between concrete and stress.

At some point in my life, tired of all this and of my profession that forced me into the office even 18/20 hours a day, I accidentally discovered an old ruin abandoned for over 40 years, located on the top of a hill, where the view reaches the distant peaks of the Alps of Verona.

I made this so radical lifestyle choice when I was 50, and now, after almost 15 years, I'm happy and proud of what I have achieved and I want to share it with other people.

Ca 'Mongiorgi is designed to welcome and accommodate people: couples who want a romantic place to spend the weekend, groups of friends looking for an isolated spot where to have fun together, but at the same time, exploring the Valsamoggia, Bologna and nearby cities: Modena, Florence, Ferrara, Venice, the Riviera Adriatica.

The love for the awesome views, the peace and silence which can be enjoyed at Ca 'Mongiorgi, only a few kilometers far from the city, made me immediately fall in love with this place. With lot of patience and hard work I created with my family the agritourism of my dreams with the goal to involve my guests in all this peace and beauty.
