We have stayed in VRBO accommodations around the world and this is NOT a VRBO quality property and should be removed from the website. There is nothing wrong with the apartment itself, the problem is with the LACK of service. On our European trip, we stayed in 7 different accommodations. This was the ONLY place that did NOT greet us in person and fully explain the details of our stay. Since no one meet us, I had to upload copies of our passports as if I was doing office work, not going on holiday. I should have received access codes to the apartment before we left our country. We were initially having difficulty with our phone service when we arrived in Italy. We had to go to the hotel down the street (they gave us great service and we weren't even staying there) to get a internet connection to contact the hosts to get the entrance code/key.Once we finally had the key, the lock was complicated and needed some explanation that we never got. We finally got into the property, and later went out to explore Verona. We returned to the apartment about 23:00 and couldn't get into the apartment with all our belongings locked inside. The property managers REFUSED to come personally help us. We finally got back into the apartment. The manager had the nerve to complain that we were bothering them too late at night. I was naturally upset, The manager said "if I didn't calm down they would let us sleep on the street" (exact words) THERE ARE MUCH NICER PLACES IN VERONA, DO NOT STAY HERE!

We are very sorry to read this review, however please note all the problems were due to your lack in reading our messages and information provided.
Yes, we are not a hotel and we do not have a reception desk with a person waiting for you 24/7, but still we are very well organised and all our clients manage to arrive and access very easily.
We had sent you texts and emails starting 3 days before your arrival, asking for the information we needed to register your IDs, but you never replied.
Yes we do use a web app to fulfill this, but our message also says very clearly "if you have any problem call us and we're here to help!".
But again you ignored and we never heard from you.
Then on the day of arrival you started calling us late at night because you wanted to access. You didn't provide documents, you didn't pay for city taxes, you didn't have a working phone where we could send you information.
Not greeting guests in person doesn't mean low quality of service. Nowadays 90% of properties allow self check-in as this is a lot more convenient for the guest as they don't need to take a precise appointment and they are free to arrive whenever they want.
But still, we would have had no problemmeeting you if this was your preference, if only we had heard from you prior to arrival! Of course we can't be there in 5 minutes if there is zero notice on when you arrive.
We hope you still had a nice stay after the initial trouble
