Fox Howe in Thornthwaite, Cumbria sleeps four people in two bedrooms.
Fox Howe, a single-storey cottage, consists of an open-plan kitchen/living/dining room with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster, TV, woodburning stove, and dining seating for four people. The bedrooms consist of a king-size with en-suite shower room, and a twin, serviced by a bathroom. Outside, there is an enclosed rear patio with furniture and off-road parking. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Sorry, no smoking. You'll find a shop in 1.5 miles, pub in 1.4 miles, and lake in 1.5 miles. WiFi, fuel, power, starter pack for woodburning stove, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent. All of this and so much more with a stay at the welcoming Fox Howe.

Thornthwaite boasts a contemporary art gallery exhibiting many local artists and its teashop and the Church of Thornthwaite St.Mary with its origins dating back to 1240 The beautiful Comb Beck runs alongside the village into the nearby lake. Thornthwaite affords fantastic views towards Skiddaw and access to both leisurely strolls and challenging fell walks from the doorstep. The beautiful Newlands Valley is close by and is great to walk or cycle, especially if you like to stumble across pubs and tea shops and its ‘buggy friendly’! The whole of the National Park is accessible from Thornthwaite but close by are Keswick, Braithwaite and attractions like Derwentwater for its sailing and kayaking, The Whinlatter Visitors Centre with its ‘Go Ape’, mountain biking and children’s play area, Mire house, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the lake and Armathwaite Hall for luxury afternoon teas.
