Skilfully restored, this dependence of a manor eighteenth century was once a bread oven. Respecting the architecture and materials of the time, the house now offers comfort and decor quite contemporary. The field of Plessis spans five acres and you get a nice and private garden.

Love actually (The Film)

Absolutely loved this place for getting away from things and simply relaxing for a week. Reminds me of the getaway cabin in the film "Love Actually"... although this is definitely more than a cabin and there's no lake attached (although lakes = mosquitos so it's good that there's no lake). I shouldn't publish this as I want to keep this hidden gem a secret!

Wonderful, spacious, stilfully restorated, quiet

We had a wonderful stay. This house , a former bakery, stands seperate but next to an old Manor on parklike land. The open fireplace is fantastic and better then TV. There is plenty of wood that can be picked from the woods but you have t pay a charge at the end. Electricity/heating wil be charged depending on how much you need. Towels and linen are all included. It warms up nicely even if cold outside. It was clean and you don't have to pay for cleaning if you do it yourself. Dishwasher and washing machine worked well. There is no wifi but you don't need it as it does not get boring. It was a great help for us that Pierre could speak fluent English.

A charming Gite in the heart of rural Normandy.

We enjoyed our stay in this property and it accommodated all of our needs. If you are looking for a quiet retreat with none of the distractions of modern life, then this is definitely for you. There is no internet, the television is small and there is no DVD player, but this is exactly why we liked it. Bernay is 10 minutes drive away and is a lovely town with plenty of shops/restaurants and a good-sized swimming pool. Parking was not a issue and very cheap. The only reason it is not five stars is due to the fact that the arrangement with paying for the electricity used was unnecessarily laboured (reading meters), when it could just be included in the price. Also, despite advertising that the owners "speak English and French" all of my communication was in French and the very friendly property manager we met speaks zero English. Then again, my French could be better!
