Villa Miradouro da Baleia (Heated Pool optional)

This magnificent, modern, private villa Miradouro da Baleia (Whale Watchtower) has some of the best ocean and mountains views on the island, with a infinity pool and located in a premium spot surrounded by spectacular cliffs, cropland, banana plantations and vineyards, it was carefully & tastefully restored/built in 2018 offering a unique experience of a Portuguese summer style accommodation!

A carefully restored Old stone house and new one built in 2018, the complex Miradouro da Baleia (Whale Viewpoint) its located on a hill at 385m above the sea level, overlooking the picturesque Ponta do Sol Village within a few minutes drive to the beach and village center.
The property includes 2 private and independent Houses, the Stone House belonging to the owners for an eventual holiday time in Madeira and the New House which is just perfect to accommodate 1 or 2 couples, a group of friends or a family with kids, it has two floors, surrounded by gardens, with some facilities as barbecue area, infinity pool with 9.6x4.6m, chill out zone, aromatic herbs garden and laundry.
You are presented with a large open garden/sun terrace where you can soak up the fabulous climate from the cushioned sun loungers before taking a dip in the private infinity pool (Outside area with more than 500m2, equipped with garden furniture). You can also enjoy every single moment of your stay in the privacy of your balcony. There are plenty of spaces for socialising and private relaxation including, the dining area by the swimming pool just next to the barbecue and the whale viewpoint.

Inside the complex there is a crop land with fruit trees, like mango, lemon, banana, and papaia, some species of vegetables and herbs are also available for guests use like, lettuce, cabbage, pumpkin, suit and hot peppers, strawberries, rocket, oregano, mint, savoury, basil, coriander, parsley and fennel.

At 50 meters from the Villa you will be able to pick up fresh and potable drinking water from a fountain for your daily consumption, this water has origin in a water spring from a higher hill.

The Villa it self is full of history, and still is in the hands of the same family for nearly five generations. This remarkable history originated the Villas name, “Miradouro da Baleia” witch means a Whale Viewpoint, based on the past experience where whales where spotted at this point. Nowadays this restored area as it was originally, its a gathering space to socialise and enjoy the sunset over the sea, or you can try your chance of spotting a whale with the provided binoculars.

Villa Miradouro da Baleia has some of the best ocean and mountain views and exudes modern luxury and opulence at every turn. The architecture makes the most of the outstanding views, which are hard to match. Cosiness, home-like feeling, attention down to the last detail. These are some of the values that inspired the concept of the Villa.

As you watch the sun set over the sea, whether from the infinity pool (9.6x4.6)m, or from the whale view point, or even lounging with a drink after dinner, don't be surprised to find yourself gazing aimlessly into the distance. There is no need for words as the full realisation that you are in a tropical paradise hits you.

HOUSE description, with inside area of 90m2, the rooms are decorated in modern fashion with built in closets, at the ground floor you will find the main room with direct access to the pool, containing a king sized (1,60x2,0)m bed and a beautiful en-suite bathroom with rain shower, at the same level there is the living room with a complete bathroom (including shower) and a fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, fridge-freezer, toaster, kettle, Italian coffee maker and kitchenware).

At the first floor you can find the second room with twin beds (0,90x2,0)m. This room its like an open space has no door or front wall and its located above the living room.

Bathroom essential, towels and linen including swimming pool towels are provided.

A laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer its available for free.

It features free WiFi.

Although the Island do not have rigorous winters we provide a portable heating system to guarantee your comfort.

Some guests had also been suggesting that would be great to use the pool in Autumn and Winter time to enjoy at fullest the sunny days that bless our island at this seasons. We took this opportunity and made this wish come true, so from January 2019 a heated pool system at 27ºC between November and April is available by an extra fee.

Cot or high chair can be requested.

City Council has implemented a tourist tax, effective October 1st, 2024.The amount to be charged is €2 per person per night, up to a maximum of 7 nights. Children under 13 years old are exempt.

Environmental consciousness
At the Villa we are also focus on sustainability, and reducing the carbon foot print, in order to create a positive environmental impact. In this way we provide recycling buckets for garbage selection, and adopted efficiency energy capture solutions like solar and photovoltaic panels.

Household management
The satisfaction and comfort of our guests is our highest goal and we do our utmost to ensure that you have a memorable, fun and life changing holiday experience!
We are aware and active on health issues and sleeping comfort, therefore our cleaning products where carefully selected in order to minimise allergies impact, and the mattress are top quality solutions.

The pool treatment its made with salt, so no chlorine added, avoiding and preventing allergic reactions, especially indicated for sensitive people who may suffer from various synthetic ingredients.

For stays over 8 days extra bed linen will be provided for free.

This year, probably due to climate change, we´ve noticed a higher mosquito presence.
At very first, we used to provide repellent, but several guests took it with them for their next stay, making it unsustainable for us. Therefore, we recommend our guets to bring their own repellent according to sensitivity and needs.

HOUSE RULES
- Guests may not arrive in greater numbers than have previously been approved.

-Presencial Check-in after 10 pm can be possible by an extra fee, paid in cash upon arrival.

- Liability: The guests are liable for their own safety and should have their children supervised by adults at all times, especially when young children are playing around the pool areas or in the upper floor.

- Upon check-in, if you notice any broken or damaged appliances or facilities, please promptly notify us, including a photo if possible.

-Heating pool system must be requested up to one week prior guests arrival. The service is available from October until April and requires a minimum of 7 nights stay for logistic reasons.

- Please be respectful of bed sheets and towels. Makeup, face medications/creams, and tanning products will stain and/or bleach linens/towels. As a consequence, we need to apply very strong chemical products and spend three times more energy and water trying to avoid discarding these pieces.

-Keep the house clean and tidy and take good care of the furniture and equipment. Please do not move the furniture from it's original position.

-Please leave your shoes at the door, especially after a hike in the mountains.

-Before check-out all rubbish should be deposited in the respective bins in the trash place at the main road.

-Check-in must be scheduled in advance.

-In Portugal we are obliged to communicate to the SEF (Foreigners and Borders Service) some data that will be requested at the time of booking. This information must be sent when requested.

Each set of lost keys will incur a fee of 50€. In the event that the garage door opener is also lost, an additional charge of 60€ will be applied.
